Yeah a major let down for Hogwart's Legacy was that there was no DLC for the game. Of all games to have DLC, it should be Hogwart's Legacy considering it was the best-selling game of 2023. Still annoyed they removed quidditch from the game so they could make an online, multiplayer version that still hasn't released yet... Tell me about it, I wanted to represent Hufflepuff.

Exactly. They had a golden egg, a single-player game that outsold even CoD and they want to crush it because muh always online world. I hate these corporate suits so much bros, I legitimately hate them so much. The problem are also the players. My brother really liked Hogwarts Legacy and the places he went to there were a lot of people almost angry that there wasn't more content for the game. I am not a big fan of constant content GaaS games, but I haven't minded the ones that take a season pass approach but asking $25 for an outfit can go pound salt. For me it is all about the implementation before I like or dislike it. Yeah a major let down for Hogwart's Legacy was that there was no DLC for the game. Of all games to have DLC, it should be Hogwart's Legacy considering it was the best-selling game of 2023.

Yeah, gamers are so desperate to look for a villain that they end up Ironically making them bigger than they should be. It's what happened with Anita.

More gratuitous shots of Abby getting you know what from a guy who suspiciously looks like Neil Druckmann?

Starfield is woke? Seriously? What "wokeness" was Starfield injected with? I've placed hours in the game and haven't found anything that can be seen as "woke".

Sony should stop trying to go for the home run every time. It looks like it's taking a serious toll on their finances. Best to promote some lesser-known games and go from there.

I loved the DAI crafting system, especially with how it let me design awesome looking armor for my mage. That being said I think there were very few pieces I thought were awesome. I feel like generally Dragon Age customization has a few good choices and then the rest don't look as appealing. Applies to the character creation too. Yeah, I also liked naming my weapons and armor. It makes things feel more personalized.

That up there is what an actual train wreck looks like. Youtubers shouldn't associate any game that doesn't fit their standards as "failures."

Maybe, but it could also be that in many ways older games were better.
To be fair when people say modern gaming is terrible it really only refers to specific genres. The RPG genre is in a really healthy place right now TBH. Shooters no, but the modern RPG genre is in a really nice place. It has both variety for lots of people's tastes and some really huge blockbusters like Elden Ring Yet people talk about modern gaming as if it means all gaming not the ones they like. Youtubers really need to tone down the rage and actually articulate their message.

Given how they made fun of the sex cards in Blood and Wine I'm pretty sure those will be gone, thank goodness. Censorship is never good in my opinon.

To be fair, CD Projekt Red had a lot of exterior pressure on it from sky-high fan expectations to the pandemic to even the Polish Government leaning on the studio. Of course they made a trash game. But they pulled a Hello Games and fixed the game thereby returning good will to the company. All that said, I have no faith in their new Witcher game. The Witcher remake will be updated for modern audiences.

They did themselves no favors by overhyping the game to absurd levels and releasing a game that makes a Bethesda game look stable. A lot of it is their fault and people SHOULD be on them in the future, but it looks like gamers are just willing to let their past actions slide.

They are doing fine, but the statement will not hold up to time. Things change and something will happen, but that is a problem for the studio and not me. Eventually something will happen and it doesn't even have to be a major decision by the studio, but the internet trolls will bring out this statement and then it will be used against them and of course the "gaming press" will be there to use it as well at that time for clicks mean more then accuracy. Do you know how CDProjekt restored their reputation with the playerbase? They intentionally tanked their stockprice and lost goodwill amongst their investors to spend over a hundred million dollars (over 40 fixing the game and over 60 on the expansion, in comparison the Witcher 3 cost 80 million. So over half the cost of the Witcher just to patch and fix) fixing and completing the game. It's far more financially reasonable and profitable to take the L on the game and move on, like EA did with Anthem. But they intentionally spent a lot of money restoring a lot of good will to get Cyberpunk back on track. Which is why gamers flocked back and why CD Projekt had that huge resurrection. And it's also why FFXIV is so beloved. The idea that things will change in time for a company is not set in stone. If companies start putting money over their product than it tends to tell and their reputation will start tanking. Saying it will happen to Larian is not being reasonable or being intellectual, it's just wishing for something to happen for whatever reason you wish this thing to happen. There are companies out there that still care for the players and gamers will not stop putting these companies on a pedestal. Maybe when Sven Vincke leaves the company, then the company will start heading downhill like when the doctors left Bioware. But I don't see it happening to Larian while Sven is still there. I just think gamers are a little too forgiving at times case in point: Cyberpunk. They had no choice but to fix the game since they were getting lawsuits and Sony removed their game from their digital store. I'm not going to give CDPR a pat on the back for doing what they should've done in the first place and as much as I like the Witcher, I'm going to be skeptical with CDPR and wait and see if the game will actually function. I've seen this thing happening over and over again with companies like Bungie. Why is it so difficult for people to actually be just a little bit skeptical?

Worry about it when it happens. Worrying about what may or may not happen in the future is an exercise in futility. At the moment they've earned their time in the Sun so all the power to them Yeah we won' tknow whether they'v elearned thos elessons untli tim eprogresses right now Larian are showin gth ewa yforward. Hre's hoping that the ycan spo tthe traps bu ts ofa rthey're doing OK. I’ve seen too many gaming companies be bought down by their hubris and greed. It’s to the point where I’m wary of companies words now and days. Besides, I’m not in the mood for corporate kowtowing regardless of the company.
