I was wondering this today. You have to think they want to push out at least some paid DLC for this game. But they have to fix the base game before people will bother buying anything. And at the rate they are doing it now we are not going to get anything for a long time. Their window for getting DLC out when anyone will care is quickly closing.

The Leviathan, Omega and Citadel DLC came out pretty late. The rest was just aesthetic stuff. I'm not going to say anything about From Ashes because I have nothing nice to say about it.

Those folks are probably looking forward to the patches and DLC. I think I saw somewhere some VA working on stuff from Andromeda right now... so they're definitely building DLC.

It's only been a little over a month. DAI was released in November and didn't get its first DLC until sometime in March the following year.

DLC could've been in the making a month before base game release.
It takes time to write stuff, but writers are hardly needed for anything once it's all written. So either you move them to another project altogether... Or have them write a DLC.

"Just take my money, Bioware."
That's why they justify it? A lot of us have already got a lot of enjoyment out of the game and will be ready and happy to pay for expanded content, hoping that it's good quality and value for money (but they are relatively good in this area compared to other developers). For everyone else, they got a complete game with a few glitches that the developers will continue to fix (some already have been).

DLC could've been in the making a month before base game release. Common practice in the industry I guess but Bioware better be careful about this. If it comes out that they had teams working on DLC prior to release whilst the base game was in such an awful state at launch it'd be a total PR nightmare.

Yeah, but it's a completely sensible thing to do. They should probably keep quiet about it if true.

It's only been a little over a month. DAI was released in November and didn't get its first DLC until sometime in March the following year. Yeah, but DAI reception after release was so much better and many people didn't lost their interest for months. I agree with OP, it will be better for MEA if DLC /and big patch/ will arrive sooner than later. In 2-3 months not many people will care at all.

I don't recall Inquisition getting that warm of a reception on the BSN, for there were plenty of complaints about its design and quests with people claiming they were done in The Hinterlands.

I'm not worried about it. I'm sure they have folks working on a dlc while others are working on patches for the game. If I had to guess when the first dlc is released, it might be the end of June, beginning of July.

Yeah, DA:I wasn't a smooth release either. In fact I had more pc related related bugs for that game than I did with Andromeda. DA:I also had complaints about it's combat and game design as well.

Now you are stuck mostly with fanboys and haters, and a few people who check back each day hoping to see some info about a patch.

I don't expect we'll get any non-cosmetic DLC in a while, certainly not before late summer at the very earliest, so they have plenty of time to fix the bugs and add some needed improvements. They'll have to be tactful with their PR for sure anyway though.

DLC is probably the last thing I want them working on, much rather prefer they straight up fix the game and make the character preset into an actual creator. Hard to be interested in DLC if there's still bugs all over the place with DLC just adding into that and the CC still sucking on giving me a character that I'll feel invested in.
Have to say though: EA does have to justify its content or else they wouldn't be removing season passes from their games cause of people losing their shit over it. They wouldn't be adding into the special versions if the game if you bought that specific version either. Why does EA have to be the scapegoat anyways?

What I don't get about the whole EA thing is what the fucking point is. It's not like EA is a random guy/gal working for BioWare who can be fired at some point if we all keep blaming him for any evil like, say, Mac Walters. EA OWN BioWare, so judging them as separate entities just make no sense anymore. BioWare is a branch of EA and should be treated as such. Edit: To clarify, I'm not saying we should bully Mac until he's fired/relegated to a lower position, it's just a nod to the healthy obsesssion some people have about him.

Game has been out for 7 weeks now and the only thing they have patched is an eye shader and Addison's tired face. For an otherwise decent game that was received with much negativity about the bugs and lack of polish, I dunno, maybe they think its just not worth it to bother patching at this point. I am literally flabbergasted they are taking so long on patching rather major issues with the game. If I had released a game that was widely panned for all the bugs and technical problems I would be rushing to get fixes out, but then I take pride in my work. /shrug

You are also using that flawed logic to claim they will just give up on the game. I refuted that as well.

At this point I'm just happy Jaal wasn't Day 1 DLC.
But DLC should be the last thing they're working on. They need to fix the base game first. I think I read somewhere that the patch was going to be released in three phases. All three phases should be out before any DLC is released, or even announced.

I've changed my mind, BW has released the greatest series of patches ever in the fastest manner ever of all time despite the fact the game was already the most perfect game of all time at launch. Happy? Seriously the level of total fanboying on this forum the last couple of days has just strained my patience to the point of not even caring anymore...
