Did they rebalance weapons for singleplayer in this patch? I figured it was just multiplayer balancing. I checked the Mattock and I didn't think the stats had changed for it in SP. I feel like all it really needs is a rate of fire boost to at least 600, maybe a little more, still semi-auto, of course, and maybe a very slight damage buff, as well. They could even decrease the clip size if they wanted, to balance for the extra damage and RoF. But until then, I'm going to try to get the X5. Since it looks like it's got a nice RoF and it's fully automatic, then you could fire it however you like, full-auto, short bursts, even tapping for a single shot...and from what I've read in this thread, it sounds like the accuracy is very nice, too.

I wish there was an auto fire augment for the Mattock. I loved it in ME2 and liked it in ME3, but here I couldn't really care less about it.

Yeah same here. I didn't bother with the Mattock in MEA because the rate of fire looked really low, and then I read from others that it was nerfed really badly from ME2 and 3. I liked that it was semi-auto and seemed like the Mass Effect universe's version of a close to medium range main battle rifle/designated marksman rifle.

In case anyone was wondering about the lvl X stats Bloody hell, 135 round magazine before mods?! Thing looks beastly. On a somewhat related note, now that we have the X5, can we expect to get Cora's shotgun in the near future?

Holy shit decided to craft myself up some level 3 ghost to test it out on Voeld...good planet because of the Kett stuff. The thing honestly reminds me of an accurate Revenant. Only trouble i was having was it was so much fun to fire i almost forgot about my health and almost died.
If i do keep it and advance it long term I'm going to call it the Bastard O' Winerfell.

I heard you cannot deconstruct the weapon, that would be supremely disappointing.

It's very good. Crafted a lvl X just for curiosity. Very accurate after some shots (has reverse recoil, like Hyperion guns in Borderlands, which is a good thing since you won't fire in bursts). Can easily surpass 200 rounds in a magazine and even more with turbocharge, weapon mod, soldier profile and extra 20% size when using special ammo (with disruptor is an excellent shield breaker and last very long). The only "disadvantage": can install max 3 augs (cryo pod perk included). Is this intended? Rare weapons should have 4 slots. Since i had restarted my insanity ng+ bc of special items bug i'll use this instead of p.a.w.

Since i had restarted my insanity ng+ bc of special items bug i'll use this instead of p.a.w. Unfortunately, short, controlled bursts are exactly what I do and what I want from an assault rifle. I want pinpoint initial accuracy, full auto, ability to tap off single shots, and good damage. I don't even need massive mags, I can, and most likely want, to do with thirty round mags. All in all, I want precisely what the M-8 Avenger is. It suits my personal requirements for an assault rifle perfectly, which is why I still use it at lvl 75 on Insanity, just custom crafted with Vintage Heat Sink, because Lancer is cool.

The Harrier was absolutely perfect for control bursts. I could quickly put a few shots in the body then put a tap between the eyes for Cerberus mooks. It was super satisfying.

I agree. ME3 had more choices for people whose demands on an assault rifle are identical to mine.
Avenger, Lancer, Harrier, and that's off the top of my head. I also enjoyed the Mattock before it got hit with a nerf bat (though after playing with it today, I think it got hit by a buff bat again), even though that one doesn't meet the "fully automatic" requirement.

The Ghost really should have been the new Harrier archetype. I'd gladly trade clip size for a punchier bolt-clanging gun that can kill your average lowly mook with just a burst.

Actually thinking about it (because of a poll thread) the ME:A Ghost is most similar to the ME3 Phaeston. Good damage but not the best, good accuracy with a large clip and spare ammo.

Loving the X5, only gripe is that you can't deconstruct it atm, only destroy. So I'll have to hang onto that vintage heat sink till I level up a bit more.

Fortunately, it was one tier ahead of my other, standard-progression gear. I'll see if I can make it last another 10 levels.

I think this weapon might be the best full auto AR in the game:
As i said I wanted a standard assault rifle with automatic fire that could be used in CQB situations.
The Revenant was too big and in ME 3 was way too unstable. The Ghost hardly has any muzzle climb unless you hold it down for protracted periods of time.
The Cyclone, and Sandstorm, has to spool up...that makes it good as an HMG or suppression weapon, but not a CQB street sweeper.
And the Avenger just sucks.
The only weapon that comes close as far as i can tell is the PAW for its type.
Serza may appreciate it but it's the real world equivalent of sticking a drum magazine on an M4 or G36.
All that said i still think Robert is going to hang onto the Valkyrie as his primary AR.

It's a bit like the Revenant, spraying shots, if used in short bursts. I hope they can adjust it to be deconstructable. It's definitely my favorite weapon, even if they're are more damaging weapons.
