Continue MEA. We have the base set with the current game, just improve and build upon that.

Yeah, I'm with building on MEA as well. In fact, when I first played Andromeda (SP), it felt like it was the remake of the original ME-series (because so many things are the same) brought up to modern software standards and waiting to be filled with new story lines. Also, I would really like to see the Quarian Ark in coming DLC...

Direct sequel to MEA all the way.
It wasn't perfect but it was definitely a good direction to take the franchise in, and it's a formula that deserves refining and perfecting, not abandoning outright.

The franchise is tainted and has lost it's luster. The fanbase is splintered and so are the products that the studio puts out. Just end Mass Effect and do a reboot in 4 years. We'll be better for it.
It's hard to believe that any sell-job for MEA 2 is possible after the the meme train and launch.

Let a better studio take over?
But otherwise, direct sequel to ME:A. I would like to carry on with the Pathfinder. But, I want there to be an ME:2 situation where we have to reconstruct ourselves, so that we can get a better voice actor.

Thinking of Dragon Age Origins, maybe allow for different protagonists - let me play as an alien character! It would be great to start as a turian, get involved in the beginning of the story from their perspective, then do main story. Or Asari, Salarian. But I can dream right ?

MEA 2 is the way to go but they need to get better writers because that hurt the game the most imo.

They can't win with their core fanbase or the casuals. Better to let the series fade away and focus on the new IP and making DA4 the RPG of our time. Bioware has no wiggle room anymore so dropping some dead weight in Mass Effect is no biggie in my mind.

Every RPG is going to be compared to the Witcher just like every RPG was compared to Skyrim. There is no getting away from it even if you reboot.

Sequel is fine, but get Jack Wall/Sam Hulick on the music (non-existent in ME:A) and MUCH better writers and characters. Then most of the big problems solved. I found Shepard a much more interesting character, as I did with Alec Ryder. Too bad Alec died right at the beginning!

Meant to vote "Direct Sequel" but clicked 100-200 years later.
Maybe 10-15 years later wouldn't be so bad, maybe the MW races will have begun settling other clusters. I kinda hope they wrap up the Kett plot in DLC because they're boring. I'm ready to see more Andromeda races and enemies.

Never understood the idea that if games aren't perfect at launch, then they are forever trash. It's technology on a budget and deadline. Technology is never going to be perfect at launch yet so many early adopters today expect it to be. A game's worth should be reevaluated 6 months after launch considering how much work goes into it after the fact.

I now think ME2 was lightning in a bottle, never to be repeated. I gave Bioware a second chance after ME3 but this was the last ME game I will ever buy. I'm still playing MP as a time waster but it's not good enough on it's own to be worth buying any future versions.
Edit: My wife wasn't feeling well and decided to stay home today. Got bored with MP quickly and with nothing else to do I rebooted MEA and started a NG+. What a difference! Took my time with the cc and managed to make a character that didn't look like total crap. Lots of bugs gone. Graphics look 100% better. There are minor dialog changes that help story flow. Only went as far as unlocking the Nomad but still a much better game than the first time. Going to keep going tomorrow and see if my opinion changes radically after a few more hours of play.

Seems like a waste of time Letting it rest because you love the series and you know it will not get better is a bit different than hoping dies a horrible death. Obviously he is still passionate about the series before this game and wants to share his opinion on this forum

They need to look at what made KOTOR and DAO work as well as they did, and build upon that. They need to make a game that suits their style. Not attempt to ape CDPR or Bethesda. Because they won't out-Witcher CDPR and they won't out-TES Bethesda, end of story.

There are tons of die hard witcher fans that don't like witcher 3 because it strayed from the formula just like Mass Effect and Dragon Age did. The thing is, there is no need to go back to old way of doing games when they were restrictive. Bioware just needs to learn how to perfect this new style of gameplay. Taking freedom away is a step backwards. They need to find a way to adjust the quality with the quantity like every other game developer if they want to stay relevant. But I get that there is a very niche crowd on these forums who like the old school linear games.

But I get that there is a very niche crowd on these forums who like the old school linear games. Just because something is old doesn't mean that it's bad or without merits. Not every developer is going to be able to build a game according to the same archetype nor should they. I don't have any particular love for "old school linear games." Skyrim is my favorite game of all time, and TES my favorite game series. And yet, why do I like so many Bioware games so much? Because they're something completely different, and Bioware excels at making games based upon certain things that are quite different from what one sees in Bethesda's outings. They nailed it with KOTOR, the first Dragon Age installment and the original trilogy of Mass Effect. They need to stop pretending to be good at doing open-world games and "Me too"-ing it. It's not their forte. ME1's planet scouting with the Mako is infamous. DA2 got a lot of criticism for its "open" areas. DAI's open world gameplay got criticized immensely. So too has Andromeda's. It's hurting their credibility and their brand. I'm not saying they should completely abandon open world gameplay, but they should focus more on what makes their games special. Make their weak points less central to the games they release, and put their strengths on display so people can focus more on the things that Bioware is wonderful at, like their characters and combat mechanics.
