Leave the emptiness of space between two galaxies, enter the "not so empty" space in a star cluster, plot a course and then all bridge crew go to the toilet or jerk off, while your 20.000 human souls ark hits the not so invisible scourge. And that within the first 10 minutes of the game, from that point on I knew "oh shit, this games story is going nowhere". Why oh why would they revive critical personnel AFTER they arrive at their destination? People should have been waking up for a year, making sure they were on course, destination still viable, systems still working and to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. Waking up at the last minute is just asking for trouble. Didn't we learn anything from Lost in Space? Nah, common sense, critical thought and logical thinking died out or were bred out. We also have to believe corporations in the future are so stupid, they fund a major endeavour like the AI, but do not handpick their people for the Nexus forward station and do not brief them on a daily basis about what everything could go wrong, that most likely everything will go wrong, and how to deal with the situation, nope, when everything goes wrong, their best idea is mutiny and well... leave the Nexus aboard a hundred shuttles and maybe just maybe we can survive in the great dark empty void with a bunch of agressive and hostile aliens (yah they know about the kett)... rather then suck it up when Tann and Addison speak because... well reasons, because they did not had to deal with similar situation (stupid supervisors) in the Milky Way anyway, oh and yes, dying a slow and painfull death because of starvation is prefered to go back in cryo so we can wake up some techs who can repair our "shit". And what is about that "girl" who want a baby sooooooooooooo badly in this extremely uncertain and unstable situation... and SAM, I get it, all that powerful and fast AI... but deciphering a completely foreign language without reference points in a matter of seconds, WOW that is just WOW some serious great deus ex shit.... Seriously... every 4th or 5th encounter in this game resulted in a facepalm. I wish I could ignore all that just like many people here on the forums obviously can.

Ugh I was trying to put the rest of that out of my mind lol. Seriously. The captain and a skeleton crew (head doctor, navigators, head engineers) should have been out of cryo AT LEAST 1 year ahead of arrival. Because there is exactly 0 chance that a 600 year blind journey into space is going to go flawlessly. Next should have been doctors and technicians to take care of additional cryo revivals, medical problems, maintenance, repairs. It goes from there. Having critical crew wake up just a few hours or days before 0 hour is ridiculously shortsighted and dumb. And yes, the uprising makes NO sense. I mean, Tann and Addison are asses, sure. But as you said--go back into cryo and probably live to see another day, or be sent off with no supplies, no backup, and no idea where you're going, with hostiles on your ass. So many stupid things.

But as you said--go back into cryo and probably live to see another day, or be sent off with no supplies, no backup, and no idea where you're going, with hostiles on your ass. So many stupid things. Yup exactly . I think the only reason to make "this" happen was to take out Ryder #2 out of the equation for 90% of the game, so they do not have to bother with a story arc, but I think.... if Ryder #2 boarded shuttle 1 with Alec and the shuttle crashed on habitat 7 and Ryder #2 was shot and thus fall into coma, would be a much more believable story, sure, somehow cheap but not as bad as this "Hyperion meets The Scourge". Even Holywood got that right in "Passengers", that speaks volumes about the quality of MEA writing. The uprising is even better, WHEN we accept it happened... all this "friendly" mutineers who just waited behind their closed doors and this big big Sloane who just wanted their good.... they ALL (well most) turned into war hardened veteran criminals and Sloane into a bloodthirsty warlord... yay. "I only want the best for MY people".... my ass...

So, the golden worlds were perfect for colonizing, then somehow became messed up, then the Remnant built terraformers, then the scourge broke them. How did they get messed up in the first place? Because why would the Remnant build terraformers on perfectly good golden worlds? And hey, its a good thing they only built terraformers....it would suck if Ryder fought all the way through a vault just to find out it was a library or tv station or heck, anything but a terraformer.
Yeah, soooo many of these moments.

Let's face it the whole story was ad libbed, there are far to many loopholes, dead ends and mistakes for it not to have been.

Undoing the Remnants' work. Edit: which, in hindsight, would not explain why the scourge couldn't just frak up the devices again...

N7 and his "Asari Commando" Scott wisely did what Alec failed to do. Get a veteran Krogan playing for team humans.

On Habitat 7 it is confirmed that these remnant structures are less than 600 years old, which means they weren't there when the AI departed. Thus when the AI used their plotscope to survey Andromeda, there were no terraformers. The remnant terraformers are built while the arks are in dark space, and they get wrecked before the arks arrive.

Why the Nexus has the tempest, but no pathfinder that traveled with the Nexus? If I remember right, Nexus had tempest-class scout vessels for every pathfinder (so 4 in total) but all were lost, except the tempest, during the scourge-hit/uprising/whatever.

How is Ryder, squad and salarians/krogan able to breathe with no problem when exiting Archies ship for the tempest to pick them up? I was really confused by that too! Totally brought me out of the scene. Would it have been so hard to just have helmets turned on there? Yup, I see I saw it wrong now... That was a little more than coincidence, two broken face plates in the space of a hour. Was the Ryder having a bad helmet day or does she always fall on her face? It's because she was using the dumb EVA-style helmets with the huge visor. Good for visibility, bad for structural integrity, as the Geth would point out. If only I could have equipped a more durable helmet, Alec would have lived!

Alec have not seen combat for decades, I have my doubts he would be that good, N7 training or not. He kicked lotta azz on H7 Aye he did. But I watched it with a sour taste in my mouth... people like this lose their "condition" very fast, remember ME3... Shepard sure is active N7 and pretty much disciplined, but even our "beloved" Shepard gains weight after few months of inactivity. Alec is out of active service and N7 for how long, 10 years, 20 years? To NOT loose his edge he would have to run combat simulations (we know they have it, see Pinnacle Station) on a daily basis, but he was working day and night on SAM... well, it is hard to swallow.

The daily regimes (including workout routines) of our protagonist has never been a part of any Bioware game... so why would you expect detail (or headcanon your own) in this situation? The dude obviously made time in his day to stay somewhat sharp, that's not even a slight stretch of plausibility. I've known plenty of vets who do so. And the comment in ME3... if you can point us to some body model of chubby Shep go for it. Otherwise it just amounts to friendly banter between soldier comrades.
