You guys are forgetting DAI was done by BioWare Vancouver map. While MEA is being done by unreleased Montreal map. You know, the guys that made vanilla ME3mp. So at least there's one ray of hope. But the stretch of that gloomy EA corporate stooge fest shadow is mighty...

Continued support requires continued revenue.

I don't mind providing revenue as long as the support is worthwhile.

They succeeded by accident!!  I think the low profile of MP saved it from Executive Meddling. That won't happen again, though.

The elephant 800lb gorilla in the room here is micro-transactions. Now that evil EA Corporate knows MP was successful, they'll push Biovar to maximize profit through MEA MP. So get ready for a glorified mobile phone game that railroads you into buying upgrades with real money rather than space bucks.

But look on the bright side - if EA sees MP as a cash factory, they may push for more features and longer support than the game may otherwise have. On the other hand, EA's been happy to release broken games before and still insist its customers pay up for the good stuff.

So if the MP is full of more nickeling & dining than a first-run movie theater/professional sports game/RyanAir/SleazyJet/Spirit Airlines, and if the game beats you over the head with the writers' political agendas, I may acquire this game in 2027 from GoodOldGames (assuming EA has done away with On the House, which they will if they look at the number of games I have paid for).

Yeah but not nickel and diming - If they said, we'll made this add on if you'll pay for it I would be fine with it.  But I hate the weasely petty money-grubbing.  Mind you, perhaps they'll keep it in the background like they did with ME3MP - it was there but you could get just as far by playing for credits.  Never really a problem for me since I've played a lot.

Yeah you're right about that but nickel and diming is horrible.  You know what might work - actually just simply asking people to pay if they can and otherwise keep it free.  Not, I know, regarded as a good business strategy but you do get people who are willing to fork out to support something (I've done it myself - being fortunate enough to be able to afford it).  I wouldn't have a problem with that either.  It's a difficult circle to square but my objection to nickel and diming is that it is bordering unethical trading.  OTOH, the way it was done in ME3MP was at least less objectionable than the way it's done in other pay to play games (which I won't touch with a bargepole).
