QFT.. I still lament how it all fizzled out with ME3MP, hopefully MEA is different (for the better). don't mind paying as long as i'm getting the service/entertainment i'm after You think the support for ME3MP was lacklustre? Compared to DAIMP, it was heaven. Oh yeah, you're right completely forgot what happened there... i gave DAIMP a miss and only observed teh fallout in forums from a safe distance, wasn't a pretty sight indeed They're not exactly renowned for making smart decisions imo. Which seems to be trending in the industry overall. so not brimming with confidence for the future of MEA and for EA/BW learning from the past are we...

Bioware would be stupid as fuck not to capitalize on the success of me3mp with a new one. ... Exactly. It's just I've never heard a peep of MEA having MP. And I wonder why that is. that's a good point... let's hope the N7 reveal spells out some facts about that. EDIT: butthurt remarks removed

Here's my small personal "hope list" .
*Actual servers. No more P2P BS. Enough is enough about the "host + 3 lagged as fuck clients" type of gameplay. *No random rewards. Grab that fucking RNG store and cast it into the biggest fire the north Earth as ever seen. How would I change it? Adding "challenge type rewards" . Complete a challenge and "X" item/s gets unlocked in the hypothetical store, and if you have the money, then you can buy it. *No more synckill BS. Seriously that's stupid as fuck. You want to make a challenging AI? then make a challenging AI. Don't throw some hax-like type of bullshit in front of the players face. *Bigger maps and greater variety of maps. This is the only thing I assume would be an actual feature in ME:A. *Less monotone gameplay. I'm okay with the co-op and I hope they keep it that way, but I want more things to do in a round rather than shoot to death 11 waves of enemies with the occasional objective wave mixed in the middle.

You talk like you know there will be MP in MEA? Did I miss that confirmation? It was confirmed. I believe it was Mac Walters who casually confirmed it in one of the interviews on E3 2015.

I just read it in the E3-thread. And about the random rewards you mention: DAI MP rewards were worse. It had an urn model where each draw was replaced. Happy doublette times.

This is supposed to be a Mass Effect game, which it won't be without Quarians. End of discussion. And even allowing for stupid corporate decisions, if you want to explore another galaxy which may necessitate living on a space ship for an indeterminate period - who the fuck you gonna call for advice? Quarian ingenuity and engineering will be required. If not, I won't even be picking ME:A out of the trash. They know it'll cause a stir when the Suits finally make their entrance, so they're just waiting for the right moment. I say all that with the confidence of someone who was absolutely certain the Brits wouldn't vote to leave the EU.

DA:I was built on Frostbite and combat was bad. MP was bad. I think both MEA and MEAMP will be bad and we will still play ME3MP.
Even if by some unussual circumstances MEAMP will happen to be good, ME3MP will still remain a true classic, like the original Deus Ex or Diablo 2 for example. Or a more recent example: was Magicka 2 good? No, it wasn't. Dumbed down simplified cash grab. It was mediocre but Magicka 1 was a masterpiece. You cannot undo a masterpiece, and since BioWare as it was is no more, the people that made the original 3 games are not around anymore, it's just not in this realm of possibilities.
There is no way ME:A and it's MP will be anything like what ME3 was. I don't remember a one single successful attempt of revitalizing an old franchise with different developer team and making it stand up to the original. It can be mediocre at best. I will probably most likely be still here playing and modding ME3 after Andromeda release. Remember these words.

The controls is what made combat kinda bad on PC. What ultimately killed the MP for me was the constant "go back to lobby" after trying to connect and then disconnecting. No way to exit a stuck lobby search other than restarting the game. All the connectivity things - it was a chore to get a match going.

I only played DA:I MP a littel bit and immidatiely reinstalled ME3 after a few rounds. The combat and game modes were tedious to me. The lobby "room by room" progression was also not inspiring. Weapon drops, leveling and classes were not as cool and meaningful as what we had in ME3, even tough I was a big DA fan the classes and random weapons with "+x damage" stats just didn't speak to me compared to ME where every single piece of gear and a character/race felt important and meaningful. And overall the combat just didn't have the right feel for me. Maybe I bash it too hard. It wasn't really that bad and I could possibly still play it, it's just not something what I expected after ME3MP... It just feels quickly put together just because and design around grinding for random loot. It just doesn't capture the magic for me.

Jokes aside, the absence of either Quarians or, even worse, Drell, from ME:A is easily going to be reason enough for me not to buy it. ... I've already set my mind on pirating it anyway XD The only thing that would stop me would be if the MP is actually any good. Or if the SP is somehow, for some inexplicable reasons, fairly good, then I'll probably play it pirated and then buy it.

My conspiracy theory has been that the reason we lack information about MEA is because they decided to model it after Destiny. And at the time, it seemed like a great idea; Destiny was overhyped, but once it released, failed to live up to its hype. So now they are unsure of how to market a game that copies a flop. Meanwhile they are in a mad scramble to attempt to add/revise things that might make the game more fun.
Of course, this also means there is no Multiplayer Mode, it's all wrapped up into the campaign.

If that is true, I would love to see BW scrapping Andromeda project and remaking it - I would wait. Just like Blizzard did with Overwatch, how many years of development did they waste there, 6? Simply because it was "not fun enough" and did not work (Destiny problem I suppose). Those guys are just unbelievable. At least they reused some of the assets and look at the game now. Bet you won't be seeing something like that under EA. This is why I hate EA and what BW has become now, and I'm totally okay with throwing money at company like Blizzard, those guys really deserve it.

I respect your opinion. But we cannot deny the immense popularity and success of OW game compared to Destiny, which is basicaly what OW was meant to be from scratch but was scrapped because they realized it's not going to work well, which was the point I was trying to make - they have the guts and the ability to cancel a big project like that, while EA will never do it and will always throw something at you with "as much as we can quickly earn from this" mindset. So, if what happened was (just a wild theory based on SalMalInf) sort of true, and redesign would be needed, then we will never see something like that with EA, worst case multiplayer standalone get removed and bundled in Destiny style, making overall a very mediocre criss-cross grindy game. If that is true, I would love to see BW scrapping Andromeda project and remaking it - I would wait. Just like Blizzard did with Overwatch, how many years of development did they waste there, 6? I don't overly care about syncs in the next game but I didn;t find much wrong with them in ME3mp, a lot of games would have been utter boredom.

These developers are listening to their community and importantly are providing a great deal of support for their games. Blizzard is frequently providing free content for Overwatch as an example and it looks like this support will continue for a while.
