Thinking of finally trying KOTOR 1 and 2 - worth it?

Do not use the workshop installation, as it will lead to many headaches.

Download the original mod from www.deadlystream.com and install using the native exe.

Basically, the workshop version creates a separate override folder, and if you are wanting to add other mods the headaches begin, as the TSL patcher installation becomes more complicated.

Edit: I recommend this for all mod installastions for the Steam version. Basically, don't use the workshop.

If you use any mods that do lots of <really good> changes, like NPC Overhaul, you are going to have some pains getting things to install and then actually work properly.

There are some really good reskins of the base weapons, unique lightsaber hilts, even a few mods with my name on them somewhere

I cannot like this enough! Be sure you install TSL-RCM (restored content mod), though!

I've barely started my first playthrough, but I recommend the www.nexusmods.com/kotor2/mods/442/? Realistic Visual Effects mod.
I wasn't even using knight speed in Kotor because of that blur vibration effect.
Now I use it everywhere.

I picked up Mira, but I can't take her anywhere because of an annoying pulsating pink glow.
She has no clothes or weapons, is it from one of her feats?

I'm playing in widescreen, but I'm not sure it's worth it.
I tried 1920 x 1080 but the UI doesn't scale and everything gets a little small on a 28" monitor.
I went back to 1440 x 900 (pic below), which is the lowest wide screen resolution that uniws supports with Kotor.

It's not hard to do.

I was trying to do the Juhani romance, but the slaver won't show up again.
I'm flying from planet to planet, but he won't spawn, I only have the final confrontation to go.

Replaying KOTOR, any advice for how to tackle Taris and not completely suck at combat or persuasion?

I know that Taris is mostly considered a throwaway section when it comes to building your characters, but the completionist in me still wants to see if it's possible with the constraint of holding back levels after 4/5? Don't mind relying on my party to tackle certain obstacles like mines, security or slicing, but it's a pain having to save scum to try to pass even simple speech checks.

Any decent Scout/Scoundrel/Guardian builds anyone knows of?
