What should the Mass Effect movie be about?

Other. Unless they make a porn called "Ass Effect" or something, I just dont see it doing well. I dont think games transition well to the big screen.

I've said this for years now: First Contact War, with Anderson as the protagonist. It's the excellent set up and would make a perfect introduction for the audience to the Mass Effect universe.

If it's not based on the first game and they try to pull the same shit. That causes the fuckups found in other video game movies it will fail.

You get the idea video game movies fail because they are turned away from the games.

Anything less than Shep doing his badass thing with the reapers will fuck it. If done right a trilogy will be born in the same league as the lord of the rings. If it's done wrong then we will just call it MEA the movie and be done with it.😆

I liked Prince of Persia tbh 

I liked the Assassin's Creed movie. Though I've played most of the games and understood what was being shown. There's so much that happens that isn't explained in the film.

Mass Effect as a movie would need someone with a distinct vision who will have absolute authority over the project (who has tremendous respect for the original Mass Effect material). Casey Hudson provided that vision for the OT. If the studio pawns off the movie to a random producer whose star happens to be rising...

Exec - "Hey, we've got this property, it's from EA, you know, the video game company, they want to make a movie out of it. Are you in?"

Young producer - "Do I get a corner office with a view? Oh, yeah, EA, they make the Madden games, right? Sure, yeah. How hard can that be. Is Michael Bay still in at the box office?"

Exec - "He's not available."

Young producer - "Well, his movies make money."

Exec - "You've got the right idea. See if you can find some Michael Bay knock-off who we can get cheap. It's a space movie, it's going to need some CGI, so we'll need to save money everywhere possible."

Young producer - "Slap some backgrounds together and do everything in front of a green-screen. The idiots in the audience will never notice."

Exec - (smiles) "You're gonna go far in this business!"
