I'm failing to see the resemblence

With the resources used for this useless feature I wonder what else could have been added to the CAC.

I mean who cares about the dad? Why not make the setting similar  it similar to Cora's? Dude is some hero that we're not related to but respect immensely and develop that deep relationship with as opposed to losing our 'father'?

That's a problem with preset #9 and F!Ryder. They just don't match. Preset #9 male matches perfectly.
I started in early access with a #9 F!Ryder, and the second I saw Dad, I thought "well, it looks like I'm adopted.."

Mom Ryder always looks the same, and is based on preset #5.

My ryder was thinking maybe mom had an affair.

My dad Ryder actually looks pretty close to his son.

Almost wish I didn't go with the Default Ryders for my first playthrough.

I would have laughed for 5 minutes straight if I suddenly had a black dad.

If I was dating your Ryder I would be genuine afraid of her fader.

Yeah, I think female preset 9 uses that face as Alec Ryder. Alec always takes the aged version of the preset you're using as your player character, and that's Alec for preset 9 Sara...which in this case doesn't look like her that much. My Sara has the same looking dad as yours. My Scott's Alec looks like an older version of him. I wish I'd taken screenshots of my Scott's Alec. Eh, I could just start a new game with my Scott and take some, but I don't wanna.
I was hoping Alec would take a combination of both Ryder twins, or that the CC would let you just customize Alec to a degree, but that's not how it is right now. Like, I wanted my Alec to have default Alec's beard...but only default Alec gets a beard, for some reason.

Oh holy shit, I just realized that. I haven't looked through all the preset heads in a while, but now I see it... they friggin reversed male and female head 9, apparently. Ooooops..

I think when you pick a pre set character and customize it will use the default look of that pre set character to use for Ryders father.

I picked the pre set at the bottom of the list and totally customized her only to get the same look for Ryders father considers both twins were a different skin color etc

The canon seems to be dad looking like Scott.

If you invest a little time in creating Scott, it becomes obvious. I'm playing Sara, but creating Scott was actually fun. There are one or two presets that don't look like a 22 year old at all. Rather like someone in their 40ies with a stretch of 25 to life already behind them.

We need a '#9 has been adopted' club.

Actually all they really need to do is match skin tones to make it more believable. That could be my character's dad believably if the skin tone was close like within one slider of her tone. Parents and children don't always have a resemblance. My brother looks like my grandfather and not like either parent. So really the only thing you need is to match the skin at this point. Mainly when the mother has pretty dark skin herself. It's not believable at all that they would have a fair skin child. I'm not sure why they match the eyes but not the skin. Especially when the skin can be changed dramatically from very light to very dark.
