I don't know if anyone else has been following the game's resurgence. It apparently surpassed The Witcher 3's peak concurrent player count a few days ago and CDPR recently put out that the game has sold 20 million copies. I wanted to share some metrics of my own though. These are some of the metrics for my YouTube channel, lifetime daily view count:
That massive spike at the end? That's mostly a Cyberpunk lore video I put out almost two years ago. So, uh, I think I need to make some more Cyberpunk lore videos. Point is though that interest in this franchise is at an incredible high after the release of Edgerunners.
I heard something about a resurgence in the Cyberpunk 2077 community. But that massive spike at the end of your metrics is insane. Now is the time for you to capitalize on it.

I have the game on PC since release. I played up to the Heist mission and stopped due to glitches. How has the game improved bug wise since launch? The bugs have gotten much better! JK. It's largely bug free now. I ran into a handful in an 80 hour playthrough. Nothing game breaking.

Last time I played npc's like Jackie kept getting stuck in walls, and there was the occasional flying cell phones lol.

Heh. Glad your Cyberpunk videos are doing numbers. I had noticed some higher-than-expected view counts on some other lore videos, it was the Fourth Corporate War video specifically that I remembered, and I was curious how it was doing.

That’s where most of the boost is coming from, it’s gotten several thousand views over just the last few days. That’s way more than my normal. Seems like a lot of people are curious about the Fourth Corporate War. After that it’s my timeline videos. I did get one comment saying they liked my dragon age videos too, so nice to see some crossover in the viewership 😀

Patch 1.7 will, among many other things, finally implement the police system everyone and their dog was jonesing for, at the price of cutting off old hardware, for whom 1.6 will have been the last patch.

Okay I have by accident, since sometimes civilian I'm saving fun into the middle of the crossfire and they get hit, but those times I immediately reload before any actual confrontation occurs.

I got in. On PS5 - the controls were wonky first but thankfully there are a loads of options to tailor it. Nice. Havent encountered any major bugs yet, the normal "not matching face with head", t-pose, car getting stuck to edge of street, disappearing crowds. With raytracing looks fine and runs great. Its already better than Witcher 3 for me

I know the word immersion is overused with regard to open world games, but the police system really is needed for that reason alone. There's also gameplay opportunities you could tie into the concept, like car chases and vehicular combat.

I don’t get the desire everyone seems to have for this police system. Then again I never pissed off the police in this game. I typically avoid triggering a police response, but there is one instance where I actively flatlined a civilian because he was clearly guilty and trying to get out of his predicament with a bribe ( the ripperdoc running his little scav operation). Having a more dynamic police response there would have been interesting. Besides, within the world of Cyberpunk, law enforcement is just another extension of the dystopian corpo machine, and they’re deeply corrupt. There’s ways to work it in where doing what might be “right” may not jive with the police.

There’s ways to work it in where doing what might be “right” may not jive with the police. I just did that mission yesterday. He ran off and I gave him a good scare by chasing him for a while, and considering he never showed up again it feels like he won't be doing that anymore and it's nice to headcanon he got arrested along with the scavs in his basement. Speaking of, that is one thing I'd like to see with police. If we take out the criminals with nonlethal means, have there be cops that show up and load them up arresting them. It'd be nice to see the game honor that kind of playstyle more than just the occasional "load target into car" part of a mission. And yes while many cops are corrupt, there are too many good ones we either see in various sidequests or hear in banter across NC that I don't feel good fighting them. Same with many corpo soldiers honestly, since we see many are decent people it's just the system that sucks.

I don’t get the desire everyone seems to have for this police system. Then again I never pissed off the police in this game. Same. I try very hard to avoid getting a wanted level or fighting the police. In fact, I haven't run over any pedestrian in my current pacifist playthrough. I'm a careful driver. It's obviously not the fun way or the cyberpunk way to play this game, but I'm currently roleplaying as an NCPD officer on my free time. So no harming unarmed civilians for me.

Lol... My goal at least once a session is to kill as many cops as I can, and live to tell the story. Very rarely can V get killed by the police if you are well leveled and not in the city center proper. The city center has way too many turrets and you will die, young Skywalker.
4 stars gets me blood pumping. It is very Cyberpunk, and it is the reality of Night City. The NCPD is not Trauma Team, unless they have overwhelming odds and significant help from the environment, they are overmatched at every turn by a real mercenary.
My moral code for this game - don't be hostile to me in any way. Period. Then, choom, we're cool. Getting upset because I am walking too close to you? Turn the other way dude, it's not worth it. Do not threaten me - all threats will be dealt with immediately and a permanent solution reached, and guess what NPC? I AM THE MAIN CHARACTER, you can't win. I have powers that you can not learn from a Netrunner.
If the cops were actually trying to do their job in this game, and didn't get hostile with me for no reason or when I am actually coming to their aid, they would get a free pass. However, we know there are a bunch of dirty cops in this game, which always confirms for me the reality that ACAB and should answer for their crimes. In a video game that lets me do that? BODY COUNT

However, we know there are a bunch of dirty cops in this game, which always confirms for me the reality that ACAB and should answer for their crimes. In a video game that lets me do that? BODY COUNT On my first ten or so playthroughs, I basically did exactly what you are doing. It was a blast to leave a trail of deaths and wanton destruction. Even NCPD and MaxTac were no match to my V most of the time. However, I decided to try a pacifist playthrough for a change. I also forced myself to change my combat approach. Now I actively avoid starting a firefight and rely more on stealth. The electric baton is great for non-lethal melee combat and Optical Camo is a game changer as well (I wish I had the cloak ability when I first started). I also use the Pax mod to turn some of my weapons non-lethal. That's my backup plan if I accidentally break stealth. Although the non-lethal takedowns give you less street cred and bounty money, it's interesting how a lot of gigs give you the option to turn in your targets alive. I recommend trying it on the "Guinea Pigs" gig if you haven't done it. You don't have to change your current playstyle either, you can simply use the Target Analysis mod for your Kiroshi Optics to turn your weapons non-lethal. After logging 1300 hours of playtime, I've gone through an assault build that basically turned me into Rambo/Terminator, a Sandevistan melee build with Katana/Mantis Blades, a netrunner build with NetWatch Netdriver Mk.5 cyberdeck (very OP and boring), and now I'm exploring a stealth/non-lethal build.

Holy crap dude. You need to lay off or you'll be burnt out before the expansion comes. Everytime I started a new game, I used the Respector mod to carry over my old character and also the entire inventory. So I just kept finding things to add to my collection. Such as Dum Dum's Doom Doom revolver. Though I'm basically done on my current playthrough. Now I'm just having fun trying out new mods while being a model citizen fighting random crime.

In my current V run, Mr. Sandy Gorilla we'll call him, I have followed Fixer instructions to the letter. When I am getting paid for a job, I do it the way they want.
I can't find interest in pacifism for this game, like in Deus Ex. First, the characters to be killed or spared are generally less sympathetic in ny opinion than the average DE story NPC. Second, the game world doesn't really care how I do things, it doesn't really react to me <<this is the kicker, and still a disappointment in the game>>. Finally, no achievements related to it.
If the world cared about my actions, or there was a carrot on a stick (cheevo) I would definitely play non-lethal (it's my first approach on DE everytime). For me, and again I am not saying for you but for me - Night City is not a place for wishful thinking. You can dream in bed, on the streets you better be on your toes.

It's not about doing it for the achievement or my personal wishful thinking. I mean after 1300 hours, I've seen and done pretty much everything this game has to offer. So it's just fun for me to try out different playstyles and the game gives me the freedom to do that. It's as simple as that. I guess for roleplaying, my current V has developed rather unconventional principles in a place like Night City. There's already enough crime and violence in the city, my V doesn't need to contribute more. No spoilers are allowed here. So I'll just say, for once, I can finally have a good final payout for the gig "They Won't Go When I Go."

Yeah, that is one thing I’m disappointed about. As you said, the only time the game reacts to you going nonlethal is the occasional piece of dialogue such as the fixers commenting on it. I do hope in the future games they do better at being like Deus Ex with that. Spare this one person? Either they show up among the bad guys again, or they actually help you in having another possible way to get through a later mission. I’ve never gone full kill everything, but one playthrough when I went lethal I did it more on a case by case basis. People who are just guarding a place or not really doing anything wrong I spare, while those who are killing innocent people I put down.

I recently had the chance to be amused by yet another reminder that gamers are fickle divas, what with all the Sturm und Drang surrounding CDPR's announcement of their plans for the future. A few years ago, the studio was God's gift to gaming, goddamn geniuses who could do no wrong, Cyberpunk 2077 was gonna be the greatest game ever and bring about world peace, all because they had made one very successful game. Now the narrative is CDPR is dead, they're talentless hacks, they've learned nothing, all their future games are gonna suck, all on the basis of one bad release.
Also, people don't read. If they bothered to actually go over the articles covering CDPR's announcements instead of flipping at the headlines, they'd realize they're not developing six games; at most, they're working on two at the moment plus the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion: the new Witcher game and their new franchise.
