I have learned the most important thing about the game: You can pet a cat! Every games should allow you to pet cats. It's something mentioned in a Polish preview/interview that was bullet point translated on Reddit. In spoiler tag for length, there is not spoiler in the "translation". Hands-on impressions
the build they were playing probably wasn't the latest, if they encountered some kind of bug or glitch, developers knew about it and offered solution to get past it
shooting felt like Borderlands
driving felt more like Sleeping Dogs/Watch Dogs than GTA
overloaded UI, it was hard to keep track of the health bar during combat, but they liked it stylistically
loading screens only after death
fistfighting was the weakest aspect of the game
details like Jackie's leg was twitching when he was nervous before asking Dex some question about the heist, he visibly calmed after he got an answer
about 10-11 radio stations (something for everybody)
Ritual FM, metal radio station, it's rather extreme, so if you don't listen to music like it already you probably won't in game
many known metal artists, people will be surprised who CDPR managed to hire
you can steal a car only if your Body stat is high enough
apartment similar to Adam Jensen's (Deus Ex) - not customizable, but interactive
you can pet cat
fixers can contact you, but it depends on your reputation

As far as relationships go, it's supposedely an insane evolution in portraying human psychic, behaviours and general growth from Witchers. Both one night stands and longer relationships, but conveyed in realistic ways. Just being the player doesn't open all doors for you - npcs have their own preferences and relationships are layered - From antagonistic, neutral, through friendship all the way up.
Paweł and many designers took great inspirations from VTM: Bloodlines. He was in fact a game master for the paper versions of World of Darkness for a long time.
Badlands area is open to free roam, not restricted to Nomad prologue
life path is important not only for prologue and dialogue options, but also endings may differ
they are not sure how long the game will be, it was easier to measure it in The Witcher 3, depends on the play-style (stealth or open combat)
life path origin stories in prologue are not symmetrical (Corpo prologue is shorter than Nomads', but it's balanced so there are more elements to Corpo play-style in later parts of the game)
non lethal playthrough confirmed, but sometimes you might have to hurt someone
they realized main storyline in The Witcher 3 was too long, so they shortened it in CP77, CDPR put more work into side quests to be longer and deeper, he said it'll be revolutionary in a way that side quests can modify main quest and ending
police might not intervene when you commit a crime in gang controlled area
MAX-TAC can hunt you if you go too far, but he didn't specify when they'll intervene
there's no Gwent-like minigame, there's one minigame as a part of netrunner's play-style to upgrade your abilities
game will give you a clear message when you'll be closing to the endgame, so you'll have time to finish side quests, also you'll be able to come back to before that endgame state to continue playing
gameplay choices - limited number of slots to install cyberware, but it's possible to replace already installed
he compared cyberware to smartphones nowadays, sure there are people without it but its harder to live like that, same with cyberware, you might choose not to install such upgrades, but you will be weaker
they upgraded some things from CP2020 so it's not outdated and to be understandable for people not familiar with lore
braindance is available in different forms, the one we saw is called 'flatliner'

First time I ever heard that the main quest was too long in an RPG, lol. I disagree that it was too long in W3, the pacing was just uneven so that the third act felt way shorter and rushed actually compared to how long you spent in the middle of the story doing all these side quests...
Well, sidequests DO make up the majority of hours played in many RPGs. And they can be much more enjoyable than the main narrative. So I'm curious how a shorter main story will be woven into bigger side quests. I hope sidequests will impact the ending in some way.
I'm not expecting too much of the romances despite claims they'll be realistic and carefully designed. They'll have to be way better than the ones in W3 to hook me. Then again the W3 ones were all very tongue in cheek. Aside from Yen/Triss, they weren't to be taken seriously to begin with. I'm very curious about them though considering that these will not be based on characters from novels. So let's see how they handle their own ideas about relationships.
Disappointed we can't customize our apartment. Why not?!
I'll try to play non lethal if it's not too annoying. I'm not good at stealth so I hope there will be options to talk myself out of dangerous situations. I hope I can do a silver tongue build of sorts. (I'm not familiar with the lore and rules of the pen and paper universe at all.)

As for non lethal, it shouldn’t be too frustrating. Besides stealth and persuasion and hacking and stuff like that, they said most guns come with non-lethal options. The only exception being things like bazookas.

As for non lethal being easy, I still have PTSD from Deus Ex Human Revolution, trying to save that fucking pilot. *shudders* I couldn't get the pacifist achievement. So it would have to be A LOT easier than that, lol. I remember always being out of tranq darts and not enjoying the gameplay at all. I liked the story but first person stealth is not my thing. I hope Cyberpunk will offer a playstyle that agrees with me. I still worry this game won't be for me because of combat and the setting may not be either. But because it's CDPR I can't help being excited. I hope I'll like it the way I ended up loving Dragon Age despite not being into medieval settings usually.

Mankind Divided did better with that, since more augments had ways to nonlethally take out enemies. But I imagine this game will be easier, especially since the guns can have no lethal attachments instead of just having the stun gun (much better than the tranq rifle for that moment btw) and the tranq rifle. I hope I like it too. I love the Cyberpunk setting, but their trailers seem to show they put a lot more emphasis on the punk when I was hoping for it to be deeper like Ghost in the Shell or Blade Runner. Especially concerning since I didn’t like their Witcher games. But DAO has awful advertising too, so maybe it’s that. Especially since everything shown in trailers is from the prologue so maybe they can’t show the deeper stuff yet. And yeah hopefully that’s one of their free DLCs.

A lot of stuff has been dropped unfortunately. The tech tree got lumped in with netrunner and vehicle customization got cut. Actual cutscenes, whether they're in FP or TP got drastically reduced to 4 or 5 in the whole game. And even the spider bot that V was supposed to control as a part of the tech tree may have been cut. I can see some of this being added in later as DLC. I have a theory that they do in fact have plans regarding TP implementation or opportunities to see your character more, in a photo mode perhaps. We know that unlike some FP games, V's body is actually animated - you can see his legs and arms and his model casts shadows and reflects in mirrors. It's hard to see why they'd implement such an extensive character creator without future plans. I'm not too salty about the cut content either. After reading the previews, it's clear they already have enough on their plate. The game is enormous in scope.

I'm not good at stealth so I hope there will be options to talk myself out of dangerous situations. I hope I can do a silver tongue build of sorts. (I'm not familiar with the lore and rules of the pen and paper universe at all.) I've been complained about TW3 main story being too long since the game released. It should have ended at Kaer Morhen or soon after, but they dragged the whole thing for hours instead. Don't go thinking that a shorter main story means CP2077 has less content than TW3: it has more voiced lines than TW3 with all DLCs combined. From other interviews I've seen, they are expending the secondary quest type from TW3: the side quests tied to main NPCs/Geralt's friends. Except that these aren't V's friends but NPCs V can gain animosity/friendship/romance with over the course of the game. TW3 only had two romances: Yen/Triss. Everyone else were casual encounters. They were keeping close to the source material and even then, only Yen should have been a romance. Do people realize how much work it takes to make apartment customizable? Non lethal will probably require more than a "silver tongue", most violent encounters don't have dialogue prompts. Enemies start to shoot at you once they see you. A lot of stuff has been dropped unfortunately. The tech tree got lumped in with netrunner and vehicle customization got cut. Please stop spreading misinformation that the tech tree got lumped with Netrunner. It wasn't. Tech stuff was always and still is under the Technical (ability) attribute. The devs started to add "hacking" to the Techie for some over designing reasons (which goes against the source material) and then walked back from that and removed the redundant hacking. Crafting and engineering are still governed by the Technical attribute as they should be, not the Intelligence attribute under what the Netrunner related skills are.

Someone compiled all of the "Maelstrom bot" mission options found among various previews on Reddit. It spoils the mission, but anyone who watched the 48m gameplay back in 2018 have seen it already. Interesting mechanics highlighted by the write up: - there are "game over" dialogue choices and you can do the same to NPCs - reputation/street creds affect NPCs responses to your dialogue choices (Cool was mentioned to do that last year by devs as well). - there is a faction reputation system of some sort - Meredith, despite being a romance option, seems to be rather easy to get killed by her company 3 missions into the game. Bonus, image of the game attributes and associated skills. There is between 20-30 perks per skill.

That makes me wonder. If there are several radio stations and they have something for everyone, I hope they have a classical music station. Both because I love that music, but also it would be an amazing and hilarious contrast to the world yet also fit it.

The music in this game is going to be a tough sell for me... W3 had one of the most awesome soundtracks ever and I still listen to it. I'm a big fan of orchestral music, violins are my obsession.
I hate almost all things metal and punk and I don't like 80s synth music or much synth in general.
Yeahhh...

That makes me wonder. If there are several radio stations and they have something for everyone, I hope they have a classical music station. Both because I love that music, but also it would be an amazing and hilarious contrast to the world yet also fit it. I expect it to have one. Rock and metal were confirmed by previewers and I remember another one talking about some sort of "new age" station, but I'm not sure that previewer knew what "new age" was. I'm not expecting music to be super alien to what we have today and V isn't the only person who can listen to the radio. In the new gameplay we have from last week we have: - a very pop Grimes song in the Nomad intro (it's less synth than some of her not!CP2077 songs) - there are 1990s-2000s sounding dance tracks in other car scenes - there is metal in the background during the "rescue monk" mission (it's very faint and not coming from V) - there is punk in the Nomad intro garage (it's one of the Refused/Samurai song)

Christ I'm having flashbacks to TW2 when CDPR was actually pushing graphical limits. I was fully expecting a downgrade after the deep dive video looked subpar. This is giving RDR2 a run for its money in the graphics dept. And it looks like the first game where ray tracing makes a big difference. Man I hope my card can swing it.

The Japanese version has to be censored because of law regarding genitals and gore in entertainment (short story: it's illegal to show either). TW3 was also censored in Japan when it released. Even Nioh, a Japanese made game, was censored in Japan. This is basically a none-news.

Going by the GameInformer magazine article: - lifepaths can unlock quests later in the game - you can have 3 weapons equipped at once - main source of incomes: doing jobs for fixers around the city - crafting allow to upgrade existing items and crafting rare stuff by finding blueprints - You can apparently stealth pass boss battle (like Royce of the Maelstrom) - cyberspace is limited to storytelling moments (no freely going into the cyberspace in the game).
Also, Alanah also did a talkthrough of her time with the game
