90 days before release (yes, yes, I'm bored). I still have Thronebreaker to finish and then my 1st playthrough of Greedfall. I also intend to do a 2nd playthrough of DeusEx:MD before CP77, to get in the whole "cyberpunk" vibe (watching Altered Carbon, etc...), so a few month delay wouldn't hurt me (especially if it's for more polish, no pun intended), but I hope it's not a "holiday season 2020" delay An Holiday 2020 delay would have been announced by now, unless CDProjekt wants to hide the game is in big trouble. Delay announcement 2-3 months before release rarely result in delays that span more than a months (give or take a few weeks). I'm pretty sure these delays are caused by consoles certification failures (aka too many bugs) and/or publisher logistic (disk printing, boxes, shipping, etc). Also, aren't you scared that too much cyberpunk before playing the game will just make you find everything samey? Nah, DeusEx is an air conduct simulator, CP77 may allow infiltration, I don't intend to play that way ^^ Obviously there will be the augmented human theme in both game, but I don't know if it will be the main focus of CP77 And Altered Carbon is a mini-serie, you can binge it in a weekend like LOTR trilogy, it's not like watching a 7 season show

Correction, 294 days until Cyberpunk 2077 release.
Game delayed to September 17, 2020.
Meh, now I have nothing to play until September (unless Bloodlines 2 new release date is before that by some magical reasons). That also mean another E3 with the game...outch, you don't want that (that less or more result in " has been" label from the press unless there was major changes).
edit: Now looking at the internet for the drama. Like I said, I'm bored.

I’ll be honest, I’ve found the lack of much marketing and info in the past few months a little concerning
So I’m not completely surprised.

Disappointed but it is better to release the game when ready. Also disappointed with the marketing the last few months.

The fan feedback about the delay seems to be overwhelmingly positive, at least on CDPR's FB page.

Maybe the delay will mean that the multiplayer mode under development will be available on the new release day?
I know that was one of the things CDPR was working on for Cyberpunk that had been mentioned earlier last year but then kinda fell off the radar.
Hopefully it will be the good kind of multiplayer experience rather than a tacked-on versus mode just there to (barely) justify micro transactions.

So September also has Avengers coming out. Hopefully the two don't cannibalize each other in terms of sales. They have very similar audiences.

Ok, now I have enough time for another playthrough of TW2 and TW3. I would have prefer to play CP77 during the summer though, The Witcher feels "wintery" to me

The fan feedback about the delay seems to be overwhelmingly positive, at least on CDPR's FB page. I don't think people get angry about that anymore. Although, the fact that only RE3 haven't been delayed so far since the start of the year might have something to do with it too or that FFXVII was delayed to April 10th just 2 days ago... But I've seen lots of people post (on other places) that they are waiting for the next-gen version now that it release in September...which might have a financial impact if the initial reception isn't that great. Multiplayer was always an after release thing. I doubt this delay change anything to those plans. They seems to have more important things to fix right now.

Just realized. Squadron 42 beta might release before Cyberpunk 2077 now.
Guess which game was announced first.
The answer is not Squadron 42.

Ha, knew it
Now the Nvidia forums everywhere won't be flooded with "CP 2077 is coming out soon, should I upgrade my 1080 Ti/2080 non-super to 2080Ti or wait a bit and suffer the performance until the new GPU release in June?"... Dammit, people, even the regular 1070 is more than enough to hold you through perfectly fine on Medium-High settings until June 2022 even.
*Conspiracy theory hat on* Did CDPR and Nvidia team up to delay the game in order to hype up some new feature of the 30xx GPU line? And, oh, boy, if Nvidia releases the 3080Ti at the end of the year, the forums once again will be "Should I upgrade my 3080 for those 10 more FPS? I feel limited at 120 FPS only."
P.S. Dammit, if the new AC game releases about the same time, I will have too much on my hands...

Holy shit... you know I've always wanted to get into PC gaming. Then I read this stuff and consoles are just simple. That post is mocking a certain segment of the PC gaming population who basically spend $1000+ ever 6-8 months to get the new top video card in exchange for super small performance and pointless new feature most games don't support. saandrig is listing 3 different generation of NVidia top video cards. Most people game on mid-range PC which cost less to build than those cards Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development long enough that the PC system requirements aren't going to be that different from games released last year though (their engine is rather well optimized for PC too).

I'm fine with the delay and I'm not too concerned at the moment. Like I've said elsewhere, I prefer delays if we get a better product from it, because the last thing I'd want is a broken game.

The fan feedback about the delay seems to be overwhelmingly positive, at least on CDPR's FB page. Is it also positive after they said they were gonna crunch employees yet again, and pulled the same "if you don't like it, leave" that gets every other studio in trouble but they always seem to shrug off?

Technical bugs that takes 5 months to fix are in the "needs a total code redesign" category. Not simple bug fixes.
See MEA for what happens when a multi month delay isn't enough to fix a broken animation implementation...
#5 fit with them starting Localization in November though.

Seems like long-winded crunch is also gonna be an unfortunate result of this delay (per CDPR's Joint CEO) www.gamespot.com/articles/cyberpunk-2077-dev-team-will-work-extra-long-hours/1100-6472839/I wouldn't say it was never likely to happen, but with the delay to September, that's 8 months of crunch time; which could be very stressful for some of CPDR's developers. I can only hope that there's some major downtime for them and some means for them to just take a break at some point. Also, if they need all hands on deck to crunch out the game for that long, then there's absolutely something going on under the hood that's potentially game breaking. The delay is fine, but I can only wonder what the technical bug might be. I won't say I'm happy about the crunch period, but they're making a good call delaying the game to sort out bug issues.

Holy shit... you know I've always wanted to get into PC gaming. Then I read this stuff and consoles are just simple. I've played on PC my entire life and I assure you all of that sounded like gibberish to me. Dear Sir/Madam, your membership at the Glorious PC Master Race is under review
Don't be scared, PCs are simple too. Some people just get itchy when new tech releases and sweat if they should get it, even if it really won't make much of a difference in their system. Bonus points if they own something like a 75Hz monitor and want to push some hardware demanding game over the 90 FPS they already can get (hint - their monitor displays only up to 75 FPS). Yeah, some people bring up the argument "but the frame pacing", which already brings us to a zone where a small minority of PC enthusiasts start talking about RAM speed, Adaptive Sync and how their eagle supervision can see the pixelization even at a 4k resolution or micro stutters that nobody else notices...
And all of the above brings the impression that PC gaming is complicated. It's not. You don't need to know or read about this stuff. You get a case, monitor, a motherboard, a CPU, CPU cooler, a GPU, RAM, PSU, HDD, SDD, mouse, keyboard, plug them all together and forget about them for 4-5 years or more.
