Right, but neither of those happened beyond that. The BBB was only a blog posting which I don't think the BBB has any legal weight for that was just that one person's opinion like an opinion piece at Polygon. The FTC complaint as far as I can find never went beyond that initial complaint by a player, I am not even sure if EA even was required to respond to it. Unless you have something more recent all the articles I can find are reporting on the person filing the report. www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/06/13/ea-cleared-of-false-advertising-charges-over-mass-effect-3-ending/#6c2a56089d60Of course it was meant to fail, just like gearbox got away from the lawsuit of alien colonial marines, any lawsuit could never work against them but it did happen. Wait--there was actually a legal review of the idea that unsatisfying endings could constitute something actionable? That...never occurred to me. Personally, I'm pretty much done with Bioware, and I'll admit to a certain morbid curiosity about the drama surrounding it now. But the thought of legal action against the company because it didn't give me what I wanted seems over the top. I used to give them money and time, and now I don't. Seems that should be enough.

Because the game is a dumpster fire. It is failing. "Well, that's subjective!!@@!!#!#!@!@!@" Yah, you're right. You are the objective one, I keep on forgetting that. How dense of me. If that's the case why are you posting on topics about it? And nothing particularly inciteful or interesting, just the boring dumpster fire routine. As I said, people seem obsessed. OK, they are obsessed. So what?
Why are you so obsessed about their obsession?

It's a bit weird and juvenile to do so (you'd think people would have something better to do with their time) and also tends to set a negative tone to any discussion when the post basically consists of 'it's shit' on each and every thread.

If I understand this correctly, somebody is saying that one speculated number is less than another speculated number, and this is relevant for, uh, reasons?
Is it attempted concern trolling that Andromeda won't get DLCs which a lot of us want (and sales would have to be DIRE for any work already late in production to be scrapped), or that there isn't going to be a MEA2? I don't think we have any way of knowing that yet.

If it's this quick, ME is going the way of SW:TOR. It's not bad, it's just so terribly dull.
For ME to have come this far and to have dropped this fast, it's just astounding.

If I understand this correctly, somebody is saying that one speculated number is less than another speculated number, and this is relevant for, uh, reasons? If you watched the video, this guy has done his homework. It's not intended to deprive you of your precious DLCs, it just analyzes where the company stands, based on the infromation available. In short, it looks at the recent month in a realistic way. Realistic as in corporate speech. Which is what I miss when it comes to games, since people get emotional and don't comprehend that games are products. In the same way as toilet paper is a product, which may be less glamourous, but realistic. Many people keep number crunching to see which game sold more or less copies, which in itself doesn't say anything ,since there are different expectations tied to different releases. So not even comparing the sales of Bioware games is cutting it.

A lot of people seem to want.this game to fail and are projecting. This game could have been the next Bioshock or Babylon 5 or game of thrones and i bet it would still get a lot of negative reviews.

But the thought of legal action against the company because it didn't give me what I wanted seems over the top. I used to give them money and time, and now I don't. Seems that should be enough. The ASA is the Advertising Standards Association from the UK. The most they could do is prevent you from advertising if you keep doing it to mislead customers they have ruled against both Steam and Apple at some point and to my knowledge all the did was bar Apple from advertising once until they were in compliance. the BBB is toothless all it is a voluntary organization that will give a company a rating, but overall it means nothing. The FTC was probably the worst, but from everything I could ever find all that happened was someone filed a grievance against EA/BioWare about the endings and it didn't go any further, if it did go further I think it would be in the public knowledge since it is a government organization. Now with Battlefield 4 it did go to court with the four investors, but the judge ruled against them. They were given time to fix their lawsuit against EA, but again from what I could tell it never went further after the judge ruled against those three investors. One of the problems is they bought stock in EA prior to the announcements about how great Battlefield 4 was, so the judge felt they weren't mislead about how great Battlefield 4 was and bought stock based on that. The other three instances were typical for any company boasting about its new shinything.

What a surprise. It's an incredibly dull game, at least by standards of previous titles in the series. It has dull gameplay, dull characters, dull lore, and a dull premise. That it was a buggy unfinished shitpile at launch didn't help.
I haven't bought it, and won't. They need to make a proper successor to the originals, not a cheesy cash in with Mass Effect paint slapped on it, if they want to get fans back (assuming that's even possible at this point).

So, if you haven't bought it, what entitles you to judge it? You obviously haven't played it, unless you pirated it. The game has a host of problems, but it's enjoyable. Gameplay is better than in previous games. Story isn't worse. In my opinion, the only thing really being worse are the companions and their interactions. Everything else is down to bugs.

Yeah, again I fail to see the point of visiting a board/website/whatever for something someone supposedly hates. Now, if someone believes that the series is never coming back and the newest game is trash why visit at all. Before, there might have been the facade of looking for improvements for the next game. But that's out the window if one believes they're won't be any future games.
So again, I said before but people must have pitiful lives to visit a board for something they hate

Well, yeah, YongYea, whom I only discovered recently and Angry Joe are the ones I turn to for game reviews. I wonder why your second example got that many views. It's just a rant done by a kid, who uses shit to describe anything. Come to think of it, maybe I should open my own channel, dropping the F bomb and insert a shit now and then to cash in on ad money.

I have these things called friends bro. They're these innovative creations of human social dynamics, and are pretty useful for borrowing stuff, like games for instance. The gameplay is worse. Open world tends to be a synonym for boring (in this case it is), and the gunplay is massively worse than ME3's or even 2's (it has a bland sniper meta where all other weapons are pointless, and lacks basic features aimed at skilled players, such as reload cancelling). The jumpacks are pretty much a gimmick that comes at the cost of bad map design. The plot, setting and characters are more down to preference, but none of it really grabbed me. The new lore additions (kett, angara, remnant etc.) were derivative and thus bored me, and came at the cost of established lore that was IMO far superior. Personally, playing the game only amplified my criticisms of it. I wanted to like it, but if it didn't have Mass Effect written on it, I wouldn't have bothered playing it for more than maybe an hour on features alone. It's pretty easy for me to see why it's selling worse than previous installments: it isn't nearly as good. That's not to say its a dumpster fire, just.....dull.

It's three things imo. One is ME3 ending , BioWare becoming SJWs, and some people just love to hate. I'm sure there are more but these are the main three I tend to see when it comes to BioWare bashing. Oh jeezus. Not this ridiculous thing again. Not everything you disagree with is because of some SJW super conspiracy. My gosh. When did I ever say it did? I'm not talking about me but other people.

How the gunplay was worse than in ME3 or 2 would interest me, since it was as basic as the come in these games. Weapons are far from pointless. I give you the jumpjets though. I hate how they shoehorned their new feature into every situation. Virtually nothing can be reached without using the jumpjets.

The game play is way better than the games. I don't like the open world much but the combat is great. I play with shotguns and pistols so the sniper thing just isn't true. I don't really have a problem with the lore either to be honest.

OK, they are obsessed. So what?
Why are you so obsessed about their obsession?
It's a bit weird and juvenile to do so ( you'd think people would have something better to do with their time)
They don't. That or they aren't doing that something better because they would rather make a post on this forum.
In either case, I still fail to understand why you care. Isn't your obsession with those obsessed equally juvenile? I mean, one person spends their time posting something positive. One person spends their time posting something neutral. Another spends their time posting something negative. Each one is posting on this forum. Each one may, or may not, have something better to do with their time.
If they are wasting their time then so aren't you, right? So am I? Everyone who posts on this forum is, no?

This guy has a Kojima hard on like you'd not believe. Yeesh. Anyway, NPD only tracks North America, and DON'T provide sales numbers, just the cash it brought in. Since it lacks pretty much every other market out there (and UK pops up as a market it was doing decent numbers), I'm thinking this is NOT the failure he's trying to convince everyone it is. It is a glowing success? Probably not, but it sure doesn't seem to be the bomb that some have made it out to be. I know that in front of the investors, they said they were happy with it over all, but it was flawed. Here is a tip: DON'T lie to your investors. Good way to get sued into oblivion. Some of those investors have SERIOUS pull, and might even sit on the Board of Directors for multiple companies or corporations. People who HAVE inside information, and can see the numbers. If this had been a huge failure, heads be rolling.
Most likely, it didn't blow everyone away. This happens, but not series is perfect. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are buggy messes, yet are well regarded. SURE, some might melt your hard drive, and can never be patched to perfection, but being able to shout something off a cliff in hilarious ways, or watch as a Fatman sends a personal message of warmth and radioactivity into the maw of a Radroach for no other reason than 'screw you bug!' is something fans love about it. Yes, a hiatus is GOOD news, as it gives them time to think on what they did wrong (and if there is blame who to actually point at...which is not some lone background programmer...look to the top people). Sales numbers DON'T tell the whole story, and you'd be surprised at how well some of these sell over time. The whole 'Opening Weekend or Bust' mentality fails to factor in late adopters, word of mouth, or even economic factors. Remember, Minecraft, the Witcher(1) and the PlayStation itself were all sleeper hits. NieR was critically acclaimed (gameplay not so much) and got a sequel that did even better. It's WAY too early to be claiming doom on a series. SERIOUS investors know that some investments take time to pay off. Every franchise has dips in its performance, and unless it is an epic failure, you can usually ride it out to success down the road. Otherwise, Disney would be out of business.
So this guy has a huge chip on his shoulder, and bias. Sure, he might sound like he has his stuff down, but blowing smoke is an art. I'm all for opening the window, letting it clear out, and seeing if there is any REAL fire damage here. Give it time, and save the panic attacks for something serious...like opening the bathroom door and finding a hungry pack of wolves.
