Rank the Mass Effect Series

I've never played the first game, and likely never will. Sony gamer, and it was MS only when it was released. For the ones I have played:

ME2>MEA>ME3

ME2 is one of my favorite games of all time. The writing and characters are phenomenal, the combat is terrific, I love the sense of exploration and team building, and the game forces you to make choices along that way that actually have an effect on what happens later. For me, this was a new thing the first time that I played it, and was terrific. Had they not had the zombie monster enemies in the later stages of the game, it would have been perfect.

ME3, to me, was too much of a horror game, which is not what I want. I didn't find the writing to be as good as ME2, and while the holdover characters from 2 were good, I didn't care very much for any of the new ones. Too much of the combat was against non-humanoids.

Having just finished MEA, I put it between the two. I love the more open world and exploration. I love the vast amount of things to see and do. The combat is generally really solid. But the characters were all mediocre, the graphics are poor by today's standards, and the writing is spotty. I love it as an entry into a new trilogy, but hopefully they find their footing and up their game for the next one.
