Boomer (the dog) and Peaches (the cougar) make a great team. Boomer tags and Peaches silently kills. Cheeseburger (the bear) is cute but is a bit of a 'blunt instrument'...That suits me just fiiine. I've become a bit of a brute force kinda player. Favorite weapon in FO4 is the shotgun. Would have loved the flamethrower but damage output is low. I also love explosives...

Nick Rye was the companion that I used the most since he got Peggy planes and helos off my back. He was pretty good. My choice was Grace, as I went full-blown sniper with her and basically shot up the bases from afar with relative ease.

So i'm trying to do something I havent done in a while, get someone to play a few rounds of co-op in the game just for the achievement points on the PS4.
I'm fairly close to hitting 100% achievements too, so id figure why not, it will by my second ever Platinum Trophy, after Dragon Age: Inquisition. The co-op one will be the hardest for me to get, the rest I can probably do on my own quite easily now that I beat the game.

I love that Peaches jumps in the water while I'm fishing, like she's just trying to help out. Killed John, the cocksucker. I hate most flying stuff. Controls are pretty shit. This game could benefit from tweaking enemy spawn rate. It's a bit too much. We're in Montana, not New York. You just don't bump into so much stuff out there. Let the gamer breathe a bit. Also, no weather effects is a huge drawback.

I only ever used planes when it was required, like to recruit Nate or those stunt missions. The helicopters are simply far superior for transportation.

For me, yay. But it has a few polarizing elements so worth checking reviews. It's fun open world Far Cry fare with guns and animals for hire. The world is pretty. The story has its fans and critics. It's not necessarily the best for the 'hardcore gun nut' The online elements allow people to design their own maps, which is also a drawback as most of those are crap. There are some annoying bugs yet to be addressed.

Finished the game in co-op mode after 26h and wow, this has to be one of the worst endings ever and one of the worst written disgustingly nihilistic nonsensical stories even for a videogame. No wonder everyone hates the game now. What a giant middle finger up your ass... At first I thought we got the bad ending by accident. But nope, everyone just dies. Everyone, and you're left to see the end of the world (?) trapped in a bunker with a madman.... how is THAT the good ending?! My buddy then quickly replayed the campaign and we did the other "choice" which isn't even an ending but a Try Again! What the actual fuck?!
The game design of FC5 is so bad it boggles the mind how any of this shit got approved. And then the devs even had to come out and point out that maaaybe you can get a broadcast about Korea starting WWIII if you sit in a car for like 30min listening to the radio. What the hell??? I thought Joseph Seed nuked the county himself so he can be right. Now the ending doesn't even make sense within the story!
So you get the "good" ending where the postgame is BEFORE the ending because everyone would be dead. Not jarring at all. OR you get the other non-ending where they tell you try again as if what you've just played never happened and you can redo the endgame even though it's implied you went crazy and killed your friends who then magically live again so you can do the real ending..... whoooo designs shit like that? Seriously, I wanna know.
You can pull this sort of evil ending in a horror flick and even there it's zero creative. But a videogame where you just spent 20+ hours liberating Montana, getting to know everyone, working towards something? Are you kidding me?! That's insulting.
The sad thing is the "postgame" is actually the best state of the game where you can FINALLY spend some time fishing in peace and quiet. I'm really enjoying the game as a hiking simulator now. But I can understand why a lot of people uninstalled the game right away. Because what motivation is there to wrap up remaining quests after THAT ending?? Sure, dude, I'll find your records so you can listen to them while you die in a nuclear inferno.............
What a pathetic cringe-worthy poorly slapped together campaign. I can live with the broken enemy AI and insane respawn rate. And all the glitchy shit. That was annoying. But it was also kind of funny. But that story, and the MESSAGE of that story, is disgusting.
Jospeh Seed was right and YOU are the idiot for not believing him?! THAT is your message??? For real? Jospeh Seed didn't even save his own cultists who believed in him. He and his psychopath leaders simply tortured and murdered everyone they came across. There is no ambivalence to his cult. No social structure. No actual goal. No wondering if maybe there was something to this cult. Nope, nope. Just waiting for the end being NOT prepared because they all die same as your friends.
Before I played the game I thought people simply didn't get that it was a total parody but nope, the main story is so dead serious I groaned through every single cutscene of the Seeds in their hipster sunglasses. I cannot believe an adult wrote this nihilistic high school grade garbage...
The only good thing about the game are the oddball hicks everywhere. I enjoyed the side quests quite a bit. And the map is gorgeous. The rest is utter trash.
Co-op is what saved the game for me. I had A LOT of fun in co-op blowing shit up and laughing about how buggy the gameplay is. So despite the story being a joke I don't regret spending 43 euros on it. I actually haven't laughed this much in a while. But dear lord what a mess this game is...

Interesting... Not that I have such a formulated opinion, but for what I've seen the story is garbage (at least I consider it to be), the gameplay doesn't seem to be good either. AI is trashy buggy. It's essentially the same formula, but somehow worse: Guy can't drive for one minute before some random vehicle spawns as a roadblock or some shit shooting on the road, not a single fucking minute. Even in FC3 this wasn't so fucking annoying. As part of the story very early on you choose which bitch/brother to kill in the map. There's one that at some point in the story sends some "capture squads" that's triggered the moment you do some quest or some sidequest, didn't quite get it, point is you cannot avoid those "capture squads" and they will capture you, there's nothing you can do: camera goes blurry as soon as they spawn, they deal crazy damage, and either keep re-spawning or are immune to the player's damage. All that leads to the protag being captured and s/he has to escape, this happens TWICE or more, which is fucking ridiculous. They essentially (as a game mechanic) take control out of you by making you believe you can avoid it, but you can't. Wouldn't be best to just use a cinematic and be done with it? Garbage design if you ask me. At some point later on when this guy you're supposed to kill captures you for the 3rd and last time or something, he wants to convert you, your character picks a gun and misses the shot in the most predicable way possible. So the guy, instead of shooting your ass back with the dozen of guards he has, proceeds to run away like a little bitch using guards as meat shields! what shit writing is that? just fucking shoot and be done!! then somehow he manages to get on a fucking plane, and you have to pursue in another plane and kill him, that's essentially it, not much thought. That's the shittiest writing I've seen thus far and it was just early game. BTW apparently the plane controls for M&K are SHIT and you're almost forced to use a controller on PC.
Man, after that, I just stop watching, this is the most ridiculous story writing I've seen of late. I wasn't particularly digging the setting for FC5, but I was willing to keep my mind open about it, however for what I've seen the recycled FC game design with some little twists here and there plus the bad story equals to just crap. Graphics are pretty though... I just don't buy the premise. Some stupid brainwashed cult with fuckshit of guns and planes, helicopters and what not within American soil sounds the dumbest idea of a story, somehow you cannot contact with "the outside" to ask for some big old democracy to be sent, makes it even dumber. Religious cults and shit have never been anything resembling fun for me either, but hey, if the story was good then maybe you can get around it. But what I've watched, was really a shit show if I ever seen one. Yet another game to pass, not that my wallet complains.

Speaking of which... I was totally surprised by all the people who mentioned the ME3 endings when discussing FC5. Many even think it was worse than the Farcry ending. O.o
Not to me, it wasn't!
The endings of ME3 are a literary masterpiece compared to the train wreck that is FC5. I find the comparison insulting! *g*

What people seem to forget is why it was the ending, the overall theme ultimately. It actually outdoes the nihilism of Far Cry 2, and I liked that game a lot also.

It's sadly only cosmetic, it would've been cool to be able to do a sort of cultist mode where you can fight the resistance while wearing it without negative consequence. Here are the other cult outfits released thus far, this one is of the flamethrower cultist outfit. s19.postimg.cc/tybtnh4b7/20180505161107_1.jpgAnd the most recent one is of Jacob's Hunters. s19.postimg.cc/3q0oy3chv/20180505161040_1.jpgSadly, you the Jacob hunter outfit doesn't come in parts like the others, as I would've loved to match the pants on it with other things. Regarding the whole mute protag bit, it's especially egregious when you have NPCs talking and preaching to you but you stay silent for odd reason. It's also a wasted opportunity for character development, on both the protag and NPCs' parts.
