And it looks like I triggered you as well. Good. I'll try to be extra triggering in the future, just for you. Triggered? Sorry, I'm not 14, you'll have to explain that one. I assume it's just a variant of deliberately being obnoxious to try to provoke a reaction. Well, whatever floats your boat. Anyway. It's funny how extreme some of the 'anti' reaction is (less so than the pro anyway). ME:A is far too average for that on its own so there is obviously something else at play.

The irony is that you seem to go thread to thread with negative comments. Negative? Me thinks only fanboys can see something like a response that says: "I think that this review is fairly rational" as "negative"... Don't act coy. Your reputation precedes you. I've seen you post enough snarky, passive aggressive comments to have an idea where you're coming from when you say " I think that this review is fairly rational". You can act innocent if you like but you're not fooling anyone who's familiar with your comment history.

I gotta admit, when it was revealed that in Andromeda there was another ancient race of aliens who left behind their tech, I was a bit let down. Opportunity wasted.

I thought it was a fair video, listed pros and cons. He even goes so far in the video to admit it's just how he felt while playing (i.e. just his opinion and not an objective truth) and acknowledges that his perception may be colored by nostalgia glasses. For the most part, I see where he was coming from.
I've defended the open world concept in MEA before, but I agree it could have been utilized better. I liked the concept of exploration in the fetch quests, but some more characterization and interaction would have gone a long way to make them feel less tedious. Even something like replacing the zoom in camera and always using cutscenes (which I'm guessing was a resource issue) would have made the scattered NPCs and side quests more engaging and less depersonalized on an aesthetic level. I do believe they made a (small or large, however you may see it) step in the right direction from DAI, however, since most of the side content was actually plot-relevant.
And yes, even while first playing (100% spoiler free) and before jumping online, I did notice the parallels in plot from the MET. Something new and unexpected could have been cool, or could have ended in disaster (ME3 ending), so as he said they "played it safe".
I still enjoyed the game, though. I had fun, and that's the reason why I play video games.

Counterargument to what? The OP didn't make an argument. The video in the OP did. Quite a decent one in fact. OP's not a very precise abbreviation. I meant to indicate the poster, not the post. I actually don't see that. If the text version of an argument would be bland and static, wouldn't the video of that argument be boring to watch too? How do clips of stuff I've already seen make an argument better?

It's not like you to have a reading comprehension fail. I said that the medium was inefficient, not unworkable. We're trading off slower transmission and more difficult response for... what, exactly? I didn't fail my comprehension, I simply disagree You didn't disagree with what I actually said. Saying that I can still do something isn't a disagreement with an argument that the procedure is annoyingly inefficient. You can say that the procedure actually is efficient, or say that you're not personally annoyed by the inefficiency. I'm guessing it's the latter"

They were too afraid to upsetting the audience and it ended up flat. It's the old cherrycakes that are holding Bioware back. Replace the likes of Walters with new people, bring in Scotts, Russians and Poles, if possible. Like these guys, amirite? Deep down most people want some de-wimpified oldschool hardasses* back in charge of most things, but most people are also too afraid to say that out loud or even admit it to themselves because they think they have to bow to political correctness and all the new age bullshit that comes with it. (* male AND female hardasses. ) Gods no. I am happy with my current head of state and folks whose videogames I buy today of the same country and their values. If I ever had to chose, I'd march against the abovementioned country of birth and the oldschool everything it stands for.
