So we all remember this gif that has been doing the rounds: I finally got around to doing the meet up tonight, so was waiting to see this scene and give a bit of an eyeroll at it and move on. And yet for some reason, the actual scene plays a hell of a lot faster and looks perfectly fine: Now I am not suggesting that people with nothing better to have deliberately slowed the gif down to make it look worse than it actually is to pursue a specific agenda, but.. No, wait. I am.

I'm pretty sure the scene went through a substantial change post-patch. I think it was 1.06 when the change happened (correct me if I'm mistaken). I didn't get to the bar fight scene until the patch released, so I was mercifully spared the stage play air punch.
But yeah, save for that one moment when Ryder's face contorts a bit weird at the end, that whole sequence is pretty awesome now.

There's been a lot of that in the memester's muckraking of MEA.
The scene where Peebee held the pistol backwards? The scene goes by so quickly in-game, it's hard for me to imagine that anyone would have noticed it if they weren't going frame-by-frame to look for mistakes.

I personally felt like the internet was looking for reasons to attack the game. Now I am not saying there are not any flaws, but I think they were made into a much bigger deal then really in the game. The reaction from even websites that cover the game I think have been questionable at times too with what seems to be a lot of bias in their coverage.
I enjoyed my time with the game, but I am probably going to step away after my Insanity playthrough is done for a but I don't consider it any more flawed then any other game I have played.

Watching the new video, I still see a fist hitting nothing but air. But, ooh, faster framerate tries to hide it.

No excuse for all the crap at release, but things look much better now. Well except the Morda and Strux fight. That's just embarrassing. Still looking at the old games' animations, I'm not colored surprised. I do find it weird that more people still complain about Sara yet every Asari got pulverized by an ugly stick

It looks better because they "sped up the tape."
I work in video production, and this is flat hackery no matter how much better you feel it looks. We are talking about pixels hitting each other, not stunt actors.
It is chicanery at best, lazy repair at reality.

Yeah, same for me, OP. I did the bar fight on patch 1.05 and it looked, ran fine. I certainly didn't see anything remotely resembling that first gif.

Now I am not suggesting that people with nothing better to have deliberately slowed the gif down to make it look worse than it actually is to pursue a specific agenda, but.. No, wait. I am. There is no trickery here. That first gif was taken from pre-release footage. When people pointed out how shit it was, Bioware took notice and fixed it. Believe it or not, the game did actually have a fair amount of problems like this when it first came out.

I am. Not knowing anything about the person who made the top gif, I have no idea whether it was deliberate or not. But it's possible that they just ended up with a slowed-down gif because they suck at making gifs I mean, if you look at my own signature, it plays out more slowly than the actual scene in ME3, but I didn't do that on purpose. I just couldn't figure out how to make the gif go faster. Perhaps I have a kindred spirit. Never assume malice when incompetence could be to blame, I guess? Either way, the scene moves quickly enough on the bottom version that I can't tell the fist connects only with air, so it doesn't bother me.

And it's such an obvious mistake, it speaks to either: 1) A complete lack of competence. 2) Lazy "fuck it no one will notice" attitudes. I think, as is usually the case, the honest answer lies somewhere in the middle.

For all those saying it was patched.. when?
That was uploaded 20th March. If you go to the scene it looks nothing like the gif, and just like my playthrough.
