The confirmed races are so far: Humans, Krogans, Salarians and Asari. I'm considering Turians presence very likely (you don't leave the galaxy super power out of these bold plans). I opened this thread to discuss the possibility of Quarians being in Andromeda. I think they are a beloved race by many but probably one that has his existence significantly connected with ME3 story. Do you think BW is going to avoid bringing them in Andromeda since their existence is connected with ME3? Maybe they won't bring them along to avoid cheapening our choices in the previous game. What do you think? I voted Yes, absolutely because I think they will be there maybe not as a main race and maybe not even as a potential squadmate but simply because BW is smart and knows a lot of people loved them so they wouldn't risk enraging a portion of the fanbase (after ME3 ending fiasco) by excluding the Quarians from the next game. I don't think it is very unlikely for a small amount of them to join the expedition (maybe outcasts or renegades from the Flotilla). I think they are fabulous ship technicians and are quite experienced in long space travels, they could easily be part of the Turian Arks sharing the same food and resources. I'm very confident they will be there maybe with Geths uploaded in their suits? Food for your thought.

I had the same idea about Quarians having Geth uploaded into their suits! Even in the case of Destroy Ending, the Geth consensus is preserved and they continue working together. Though I was thinking more in the context of rebuilding in the Milky Way. I would like to see the Quarians in Andromeda, but their narrative was thoroughly wrapped up in the Mass Effect trilogy and they're not as central to galaxy politics and such (as say the big three and the Krogan), so I voted maybe. Fence sitter.

Personal Feeling: No, because they aren't very popular, it's just the fanbase they (and particular the character Tali) have is very vocal/rabid on the internet. They'll be trimmed as unnecessary fat along with every other non-Council species (save the krogan, who make the cut on massive popularity) to make way for Andromeda species.
What I want: Maybe. If they ruin them by making them suitless, or bringing back that retarded uploaded geth garbage, or wrecking their already established culture in any other way I don't want any part of it. A minor physical (under the suit) redesign or refinement would be nice.
I don't think ME3 factors into the decision at all. It's not just the quarians, everyone could be dead by the end (refuse or low EMS destroy, and in the krogan case genophage sabotage), so the divergence point is either pre ME3, or Biower have cannonized certain choices and others are a non-factor (the first is most likely).

If Bioware has quarians in MEA, I like to have one like Kal'Reegar and Xen. Those are the only two quarians I liked. I checked maybe

Will they be there on release? I think not. In DLC? Maybe. "Who? Quarians? They were on another Ark, of course". Depends on how Bioware will react on talifans' uproar. Which will be there for sure. And I'm already stacking popcorn for this day.

Agreed I also would like people like Xen who are not Tali level of goody two shoes.
I for example would love to see Quarian renegades, exiled people because they questioned the Flotilla and its laws.
To answer Xen I think some evolution of the Quarians should happen to keep them fresh in the new story that's why I would like Quarian renegades who developed their own way and morals. I could imagine some of them having AI (not necessarily Geth) uploaded in their suits to strenghten their immune system. I would also love for BW to finally provide us with a proper face for them although this doesn't mean they should be always maskless. I would love to see Quarians evolving and surpassing at least some of their limits to provide a new perspective on them.

I am a big fan of the Quarian story. I don't necessarily like all Quarians and don't think that they as a species were particularly great, but their story was very good. Tali's was a great story of going from just an adolescent on her pilgrimage to being an admiral in the fleet. They have a tragic history, but it's their own doing.
That being said, I don't think they will be in Andromeda. I think we would have seen them in some of the promotional material so far if they were, and there were just so few of them to begin with. I agree they could show up in a DLC. In the novels, the Quarians sent of a few exploratory vessels and I suppose they could find a wormhole or conduit or something to get them to Andromeda accidentally. Something like Star Trek: Voyager. But initially I don't think they will be in game.
I'll be sad if they are not, but I understand that Bioware has to make room for new Andromeda species as well, so I won't make to big a deal out of it.

Quarians need a new story rather than reclaming the Geth, & Rannoch. Like how I doubt we'll see the Krogan genophage problem pop up again. We don't want old problems from the previous trilogy in ME:A, that's just lazy writing.
I know it's a cliche for Quarians to be really good at ship repair, maintanance while their in space, & being able to use whatever resources we can find or mine to maintain the Migrant Fleet of + 50,000 ships of various sizes for almost 300 years. I'd say that's a solid record to bring Quarians with you to Andromeda, so there's no dead weight there.
If Turians are in ME:A, Quarians could be as well for the Dextro-amino acid compatibility, for the almost 300 year knowledge of growing food efficiently aboard ships to feed both the both of them, as well using that same system for the other species to save on space to bring other things , cuz Quarians know how to pack it in. It'd also be logical to assume you're probably not going to find Levo, or Dexro based life forms, when you get to Andromeda, so bringing people who can cultivate on ships would be a good move.
For Quarians in ME:A I'll say yes, but I won't be suprised if their not in ME:A, sad, yes.

Yes, they should be.
Maybe at the end ARKON Project becomes a backup plan for survival of (various) species, but Mac Walters has told us there are different people going to Andromeda for different reasons. That translates as at some point there were a recruitment to explore the Universe.
So, I think maybe Quarians have not their own Ark, but maybe some exiled could have enlisted for the journey when it was optional and just for adventure sake. That would make a nice difference with Quarians we are used to (teenagers in their Pilgrimage, Tali, Admirals...). If they leave the MW they must not feel very attached to the Flotilla

Love the quarians, but i think they are getting Axed.
If i recall correctly one of the leaks (which so far have all been spot on) the people were asked which races would not be missed, and I think the quarians were one of them.
i would be seriously sad at the idea, but then again, i'm not a dev.

I dont see why they wouldn't be in. They're experts at long space voyages and some are great engineers. Also I think the "Ark ships" leave before ME3, so potential mass genocide at the hands of the Geth can be avoided by the lucky few who make the trip to Andromeda.

They could go the route that all – okay, most – Quarians are loyal to the Flotilla and will prefer to die with it versus chancing a trip to an uncharted galaxy away from their families. The other route would be this would be the opportunity for the ultimate pilgrimage. But instead of bringing something back to the Flotilla, they go out with the rest of the AI expedition to guarantee the survival of the Quarian race. They know it's a one way trip, that they'll never see their families again but they want to see the Quarian species live on, regardless of the outcome with the Reapers. So, uh, yeah, voted "Maybe".

My preference would be to have most of the races from the Mass Effect universe present. I don't even like Quarians as a race (there are a couple individuals who are the exception), but leaving them out would be a narrative mistake IMO.
The only races I couldn't care less if they were left out:
Vorcha Batarian Hanar Drell
Every other race I'd like to see, even if just in a limited capacity.

Mr. Shinobi is making strange comments that imply council races are in, on Neogaf's mass effect thread. He said there is more than one ark, which we know from the EA Play trailer. I just watched that multiple ark scene again, and there is a shot of 6 shuttles moving towards arks. So here is my belief of this-
1- Human 2-Asari 3-Salarian 4-Turian 5-Krogan 6-Quarian

I think they will be, due to their rabid fanbase.
I hope they won't be, partially because they're a bunch of space pikeys, partially because of their rabid fanbase.

THe only races i am 99% wont be inside the Ark are the Raloi and the Yagh for obvious reasons. Batarians, Vorchas,Rachni and Geth i also believe will be hard. (but it would be nice to see some of them).
But all the council races plus quarians and krogans i think are more likely to be inside the arks.

I voted no. Mostly I see it as just being easier not having to write them into the story in a way that somehow covers for the possible choices in the original trilogy. If this whole Ark initiative was indeed run by council species then I think only those species have a good chance of showing up, Krogan non-withstanding.
