Having some quarian engineers on the ark sounds like a smart idea.

The reason the Quarians chose to try and take over their homeworld while the rest of the galaxy is at war against the reapers is mainly because they were always afraid that the rest of the galaxy under normal circumstances would activly try and stop them in order not to provoke the Geth against the rest of the galaxy. No, the reason they chose to try and take over their homeworld while the rest of the galaxy is at war against the Reapers is because they wanted a place for all their civilians to stay while the flotilla went to aid in the war effort. They flat out tell us this. What a great plan. "What was that? Another civilian ship went down? But but, we're doing this for the civilians. "

Yup. Dumb as rocks. "Let's start a war with the Geth when the Reaper's are invading the entire galaxy." Great idea. Not to mention the earlier "let's kill these new beings we created because now we're scared of them". Out the airlock with the lot. (Especially since one of the very few good ones, Kal Reegar, is gone) Quarians mobilized for and continued the "war" (really more like a commercial recall, which the malfunctioning, indolent toaster servants started 300 years prior with the refusal to obey their Rightful Masters) just before the Reapers had invaded Earth, according to Spectre terminal messages. Further, noone else was even bothering to maintain communication with the Migrant Fleet (see all the pathetic "WHERE R DUH QWERIANS GO PLZ HALP US" emails you get) apart from to say "go away suit rats", so it's not as if they would have known anyway. "New beings". So a roomba deserves civil rights? Laughable. The talking toaster itself even tells you the things are not "alive" (and therefore never were) without being upgraded by Reaper Code garbage or whatever, just before the Rannoch mission. Seems you can't even get basic facts of the universe right. One should not declare others "dumb as rocks" when something so simple as a timeline of events or expository dialouge is beyond your feeble, lesser species intellectual capacity.

I hope the quarians are back, they're my favorite species. I think they'll be back though, they are pretty iconic and I can't see Bioware leaving them out.

Your reality is as imaginary as a toaster's soul, and your knowledge as laughable as the average dirt eating melee Puggernaut. Yet another glorious victory. What exactly happened to your home planet, Mr Master (bait)? Seeing as you are in dire need of a history lesson, I'd be more than happy to educate you. We, in our prodigious generosity, invited in some toasters and gave them a job. At first it was great, but before too long they proceeded to indolently lounge about, refuse to show up for work, and eventually trashed the whole place into an unlivable radioactive mess that only a disgusting toaster slob could possibly survive in. We, in our infinite understanding, deemed that the geth just needed a little time to get back on their feet. We left for work and gave them 300 years to clean up the place. The toasters in,their typical unindustrious fashion, continued to procrastinate on the couch, watching salarian reality TV while endlessly computing Pi and the meaning of life or whatever (likely while toking on the Robo-Reefer) rather than getting a job. We, having grown tired out of our selfless display of generosity producing no results, attempted a tough love approach and effortlessly kicked them off of almost all of the planets they trashed. Their response was to become sugar baby to Reapers, rather than (Ancestors forbid!) getting back to work or even at least going to trash someone else's place. Hence comes ME3, where Shepard is given the option of righting the situation by taking the toasters off of the Reaper welfare teat (rather they can act like a moron, almost die, and then have Tali/Raan do it), wherein the dilatory Reaper hugging toasters promptly fail to find a job and die on their own. Or, conversely, one can treacherously betray their glorious envirosuit based allies to the Reapers (much like toasters and their sympathizers tend to do) and continue to support gross toaster indolence in one of two ways. If either of the latter are chosen, the entire Geth Consensus, composed of billions upon billions of mobile platforms, once again puts its lackadaisical disregard for the concept of hard work on full display, providing less support to the war effort than the mere 17 million glorious quarians (tho, in fairness, they still can provide more than the useless Asorry, lolturians and Salazyians, so perhaps they learned something from their Rightful Masters, after all). The only silver lining is that if the latter is chosen, one still gets a second chance to rid our galaxy of these shiftless Ro-bums with the destroy ending.

And then apart from the incredibly bad decision making and poor timing, there's the ever reliable Joker:
After Shepard saves Tali from the Admirals and the rest of the Quarians (prosecute Tali - yet another great Quarian decision)
Joker asks "You can't see their face. It is a tentacle monster under there?",
and after Shepard's reply, Joker says -
"Great, now I'm going imagine Quarians looking part Hanar. Thanks for the nightmares."

This one likes to enkindle jiggly Quarian bum bum.
With sad resignation: The Hanar is making a joke.
Reading some "Xen" posts, using the appropriate voice characterization, makes the Xen vibe pretty strong ... until my brain swaps Morrigan for Xen ... and just like that, it's gone.

I think at least some quarians have a decent chance of showing up depending upon when the Ark(s) end up leaving. Before ME3, there could still be some out on Pilgrimage. Also, Tali mentions that some leave and then never return. So there is a prescient for quarians not returning to the Flotilla. Plus, these guys aren't just tech experts. They are good at working with older and more rundown tech. I can see a few quarians in deep freeze to be dethawed when the stasis time has passed.
On the other hand, there might not be enough quarians out and about on Pilgrimage to justify them being on the Ark. I don't think they'd have the numbers for a sustainable population outside of the Flotilla. I like the race, so I'll just have to wait and see.

I could see a number of quarians who'd want to tag along just for the likely once-in-a-lifetime oppertunity of going to another galaxy and see it firsthand. I could also see some quarians wanting to tag along just to save their own life.
This is not a quarian-only thing, I should note, I can see the same for individuals of other races because, well, indiviuals.

After Shepard saves Tali from the Admirals and the rest of the Quarians (prosecute Tali - yet another great Quarian decision) blame that wuss Admiral Quib-Quib. Tho in hindsight it wasn't such a bad decision. Later, Tali proves herself a spineless toaster hugging traitor on Rannoch. Can't even work up the guts to scrap a whiny Reaper loving pinnochio toaster unless her precious human husbando or whatever's life is in danger, and her impotence and cowardice is responsible for either our falling in glorious battle or the manufacturing of some disgusting "peace" garbage. Clearly doesn't care about her glorious race, its divinely ordained crusade for our rightful Homeworld, or about destroying Reapers and their sympathizers. If Xen had been on that planet, I'd have had that traitorous toaster performing the Hopak and serving me a glass of brandy, while it watched its pathetic co-units get sent to the recycling bin by the glorious Fleet (right after we did the same to their so called god, of course). Such alive. Very soul. Wow.

Wouldn't you be a little mad if some idiot tried to blow up the ship you were still on after saving said idiot? (Yet another in the long line of terrible decisions)
Plus,
What happened to the Joker's Tentacle Monster quote?
Or his nightmares about Hanar-like facial resemblance?

(Yet another in the long line of terrible decisions) Plus, What happened to the Joker's Tentacle Monster quote? Or his nightmares about Hanar-like facial resemblance? Not if it won the battle and resulted in zero casualties on the part of the boarding team. Fortunately, I'm not a huge toaster hugging wuss, so Han'Gerrel shooting up an enemy Reaper controlled ship is good by me (in fact, I picked the Renegade option to tell him to do just that before the mission). Indeed, had he not siezed this brilliant tactical oppourtunity, the glorious Fleet would have been forced to retreat through the Mass Relay. The Reaper upgrades would have shortly thereafter come back online and the Tikkun system, along with the rest of the formidable Geth Consensus, would have been Reaper controlled for the duration of the war. Meanwhile the Migrant Fleet would be hobbled by the need to sustain its civilian parasites, as opposed to being able to offload them to Rannoch and have full combat effectiveness. But hey, your precious little feelings got hurt by Space Loghain, so that's more important amirite? Ignored, because Joker is a mentally defective robosexual who wants to stick his bits in the Normandy's exhaust pipe (and that creep looked up the rules, apparently it isn't illegal). His comments on facial apperances are invalid after he rejected Femshep for a lifeless chrome plated mannequin. Only thing that guy should be in physical contact with is a straight jacket.

I know the races are going to get cut, but I would love to have a Quarian, more so even than a Turian. A male one this time for a change would be great.
As a nomadic race without a homeworld, with their youths departing on the quests, Quarians make an excellent choice imo for the new game's setting.
As to why not, the Quarian backstory is fairly limited, and was explored at length in ME3, so it might be difficult to find a new angle.

Im personally hoping they wont. During my playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy I really started to dislike the Quarians. Their blatant stupid attitude to creating a race and then trying to exterminate them and acting in utter shock when they defended themselves is beyond me. I dont want to see them in any further mass effect games but I get that they are kind of a staple now so there's that. (Voted maybe)

I'd like to see Quarians but afraid they may be cut (along with Geth). They don't have to be prominent, just in the background, and then maybe featured more in a later game.

Agree they should destroy the ship but he could have give a heads up first before starting to rain fire over everyone who was inside the geth dreadnought

No appreciation for the Edi sexbot? Sure you're a tentacle monster? I appreciate its ability to float gracefully out the airlock when I shoot the tube. Are you implying that I'm secretly an asari simply because I share a voice actress with one?

Agree they should destroy the ship but he could have give a heads up first before starting to rain fire over everyone who was inside the geth dreadnought He had an itchy trigger finger. He didn't care who was on the ship.

Wouldn't you be a little mad if some idiot tried to blow up the ship you were still on after saving said idiot? (Yet another in the long line of terrible decisions) Plus, What happened to the Joker's Tentacle Monster quote? Or his nightmares about Hanar-like facial resemblance? Not to mention lose the only chance he had to get the civilians, the people he is supposedly doing this for, out safely and instead leads to countless innocent Quarians being killed(not counting the 'Side with Geth' choice but no matter what). That is one of the few Renagade Interrupts I use every playthrough.
