I've just done my 1st gold solo with the Asari Valkyrie Sentinel, and it made me wonder; if a scrub like me can complete a gold solo with her, she might be an OP character. Thoughts?
It might be my personal preference but I found it easier than the TGI and AIU.
As a side note, this was also my 1st gold solo without the Reegar--just wanted to pat myself on the back for that (I used the Arc pistol). Still, it took 59 mins so I doubt its considered a speedrun

Congrats on your virgin Gold solo (anything done with a scrubby Reegar or Harrier does not count)!

Congrats on your virgin Gold solo (anything done with a scrubby Reegar or Harrier does not count)! Thanks, I totally agree; Using the Reegar only means you can measure a distance of 10 meters - using the Harrier only shows you know where the ammo boxes are located.

The AVS is one of the most powerful kits in the game, playing here with the Reegar is just overkill.

Congrats on solo. And yes, she is feisty bitch. OP is a proper term for her.
Now man up, swallow that ryncol on the rocks, give her Raider and watch things dissolve into bloody pulp in front of her.

When I encounter the Reegar (all too often ) it's usually on the AIU or Juggernaut. Congrats on solo. And yes, she is feisty bitch. OP is a proper term for her. In terms of entertainment value I think the Raider is rivaled only by the Claymore. Ammo recommendation?

The blueberry girl is one of my (old man) guilty pleasures, I totally love her... You won't see her in PUGs often because they spec her incorrectly and/or don't know how to play with her. She's OP, but you have to play close to the enemy in order to unleash her full potential and that makes most PUGs uncomfortable: better to use TC and have unlimited packs (TGI) or gels (AIU) or huge health/shields (Jugs), right? As for ammo, imo, you have two choices: either Warp for max biotic and barrier damage or total cheese with Incendiary (to use the Warp glitch).

As Doc pointed out above, most pugs have no clue how to play her properly, she's more complicated than the standard pug choice of AIU/TGI etc.
And like the N7 Fury, this kit also suffers a lot when played off host with your average pug hosts potato connection.
The Raider as Mordokai mentioned is also an excellent and fun choice for her.

Venom is a fun weapon for sure, especially for counter trolling. And Goddess knows phantrolls deserve everything that comes their way, be it in form of Reetard, Stasis bubble or something more insidious, like Cobra missile to the face. But I prefer Raider, for awesomeness value alone. That double bang-bang... it sends my blood coursing. I will use Venom as omni bayonet holder, for a full melee specced Valkyrie, but other than that, I will always stand by Raider being the best choice for the lovely Valkyrie Save

She is a very good character for sure, but I wouldn't call her OP. She has to be very close to the enemies and Warp hasn't a so great recharge speed (compared to Throw for the Fury, who has also Dark Channel to deal damage at range). She's more tanky than her human counterpart and can exploit the incendiary glitch though.

I for sure think she's OP. There are very few characters that are so lethal in CQC. Having the Drain evo on Annihilation Field coupled with Tech Armor makes her extremely durable, and the multiple debuffs (Warp + AF Damage Taken evo) give her great DPS potential.
She was the first character I was able to solo platinum with, so that tells you how ridiculous she is.

That is true actually, except I didn't use asari sentinel but I used the n7 fury which is close enough minus the character model obviously. I had a message from a random pug he's like "Man you're so good at the fury, what build do you use?". I told him my build and he's pretty much like "She does damage but she's squishy and you (me) run her at 4 ranks in fitness". Kits like the fury and the AVS put people out of their comfort zone, esp if they're not comfortable playing CQC and are more used to playing something that puts a player further back for example TGI harrier, X infiltrator with a sniper, or any other kit + build variation that doesn't force a player into CQC. The AVS and the fury are fun kits to use.

My definition of "overpowered" is more restricted than yours. I wouldn't put many characters in this category. I would say all the Flamers (short ranged too but third times less), the Cain Mines spammer, TGI, AIU, GI (squishy but so deadly) and probably the Juggernaut (not great regarding his damage output but quite impossible to kill if not played too crazily). So my definition of OP seems more related to characters who are strong both offensively and defensively (or exceptionnaly good in one department) in the hands of an average player, while yours is more about what a pro-player can do with a kit. I would put the Valkyrie in my "second circle" of overpowered characters.

Then again, I'm not the kind of player who is good enough to do platinum solos, so maybe it's just me.

She have great survivability, great CQC and ridiculous damage output especially if you use Incendiary ammo, the N7 Fury for example can't really match the Warp/Incendiary glitch. It is a bit circumstantial of course, doing something like Platinum Geth on Condor with a Reegar/Valkyrie would probably not end to well.

Btw,this is probably the only map on which cerberus is a harder enemy than geth, except 9 wave. It's always better to be persecuted by two atlases and one banshee than two primes campers and banshee.
