Asari Valkyrie--OP???

I always use a missile vs geth/condor on 2 wave,or almost.The wave budget is small on 2 wave,but on 9 wave is very big and 2 campers,banshees,phantrolls and last but not least rocket troopers=nigtmare.I hate that wave.

Yes,perhaps biovar,wanted to compensate for 3 wave.Collector's 3 is the easiest platinum objective wave.Still 6 bosses are way too much.

I guess it also helps if you actually have that Venom X, which I don't.

What I'm saying is, sometimes I see seasoned players saying certain kits are overpowered, but they tend to forget they have all those amazing weapons at X and not to mention hundreds if not thousands of hours of playing experience. It really helps if you have all the best stuff and know the game inside out.

When every clueless pug out there starts running an Asari Valkyrie with a Katana I without any armour piercing, and dominating lobbies with it too, I'll believe she's overpowered. =P


IMO people are too quick to call things "OP" when they just mean "good", in the sense that it doesn't suck. OP is just a hip term.

I use her with the Talon most of the time, though I've seen the Wraith, Lancer, CSMG and a bunch of other weapons used on her to great effect.

Regarding the ctc91 build: nothing about that sounds OP but because he used it I bet he outscored the lobby. He's probably the best player I've ever seen on xbox.

Agreed,he was just like elite PC player.Never played(because you know PC mustard race ) with him,but his times in Themed Challenges were great.Only Knockingbr4in was like him,but i think he was is on PS3

I think by your definition, OP characters would be restricted to Infiltrators and the Jugg: one set has a power that sheds aggro immediately, increases damage, allows almost free movement around the map, and almost grants invincibility for tasks that require standing still (reviving, devices); the other kit eliminates the most dangerous aspect of the game (sync kills) while greatly reducing the danger of all other enemies. I would think those are the kits that allow a new player to ignore much of the game's difficulty and would therefore be OverPowered.

Nothing wrong with that! However, I think around here the definition is more relaxed: once you have learned the ins and outs of the game (spawn points, wave budgets, best spots, best routes), "OP" characters (or combos) are those that let you consistently do better than your average performance. In this sense, I have to agree the Valkyrie is OP: she has great survivability, not only due to her DR from tech armour, but the barrier refill from AH, she has two debuffs, access to the very powerful biotic explosions, two panic buttons (AF and tech armour detonation) and one of the best dodges in the game. Once you get comfortable playing in close quarters, you will be hard pressed to find a better kit for wielding a shotgun.
I personally play her with the Lancer, because it untethers me from ammo boxes, so I can dance with the enemies non-stop, and because the quick cooldowns mean I can mix my gameplay up between biotic explosions and debuff-enhanced gunplay. She might require a certain amount of game knowledge to make her shine, but she is well worth the time invested in her

She's also a great candidate to use a hip-firing Hurrdurricane.
Can be a pain to ADS, but she rarely has far to aim.

Well if you're pwning everything in sight with a Raider...I mean, c'mon... 

 Well, there is a certain finesse to using her with the Raider since you have to be in pissing distance for it to really be effective. But yes, she rips with the Raider. I was trying to go with a non UR example that wasn't the Claymore for her. I've also done well with the Evicerator or Disciple equipped on her too.

Does Fury has as awesome theme song as Valkyrie?

You know, it's crazy, but I really can't play with the Eviscerator. The weapon feedback for it on the xbox controller is reeeeeaaaaaally unpleasant to my hands. It's this sharp "pang"; it almost hurts.

As for Infiltrators with SMGs... does that really work with the damage bonus? In my mind you need single shot weapons for an Infiltrator, unless you're playing the Turian Ghost of course. Or do you mean it's really good just because you have cloak and you can get in close? (And not because of the damage bonus)

I have really never tried it.
