IIRC, the warring races is what they said they were doing. Makes it so it does not revolve all around us. These people had issues already. We're probably just picking a side and working to help them. Also establishing a mutually beneficial alliance with some of these races. But the conflicts do not seem to be about us directly. At least not initially. Mages vs Templars, who will you support?  As long as we're not the spark involuntarily involved because we assisted in making an explosive built from monster poo. |

You can even force him out of the party and he'll still blow up the Grand Cleric in defiance. For all his intelligence, it escaped his grasp that every human merged with a spirit goes whoohoo in time. Even Flemeth is off her rocker and that's a historical fact. The vengence part was justifiable but the rest, yeesh.
