Currently downloading the update. I guess I'll do a speedrun with the new preset.

Yep. The new preset head shape I do like though, its good enough. If the freckles were a slider option instead of baked into the skin texture it would be a whole lot better. Kinda disappointing the finally give us a Caucasian skin but its only option is "ginger". Honestly, before the game released I was expecting something along the lines of DAI or Fallout4's CC, both had their weak points. (Looking at you hair, beard on eyebrow and tattoos) but not as weak as MEA's selection (or lack there of) of the same, or the piss poor quality of the textures. (The scars dont look like scars) At least in DAI the scars looked like scars. And I could do fun things like give my character a broken nose. and FO4 did some amazing things with allowing players to layer things like scars, and other blemishes Yeah FO4's is fairly decent. Some of the celebrity look-alikes for that game are pretty impressive. MEA's is just terribly disappointing. BW and ME in general aren't known for great CC's but MEA's is even worse than ME1's as far as options and customization goes.

Freckles, finally! But is it really true that eyebrow shape is tied to complexion? *Sigh* Count on Bioware to make really strange, stupid decisions. It highlights the fact that you could make them separate options as well, since at launch they claimed you couldn't edit eyebrows due to tech limitations (which was always BS, they're just textures). Yeah it's better than nothing at least and we can change skin complexions now too. Better than nothing as long as I like the eyebrow shape on the complexion I want So, there's a new, paler skin tone... right? Yep. The new preset head shape I do like though, its good enough. If the freckles were a slider option instead of baked into the skin texture it would be a whole lot better. Kinda disappointing the finally give us a Caucasian skin but its only option is "ginger". And I could do fun things like give my character a broken nose. and FO4 did some amazing things with allowing players to layer things like scars, and other blemishes Agreed. ME:A should have simply ported over DA:I's creator and made improvements, since they are on the same engine. DA:I's CC was functionally the best I've seen, aside from poor hair options of all kinds. But that could have been easily fixed for a new game. ME:A's scar textures are fine... it's just that they aren't scars. They look like fresh injuries (burns, being hit in the face). I'm disappointed we can't do real scars, especially because it would be immersion breaking to walk around with a fresh wound the whole game. At least we can edit appearance mid-game now, so we can roleplay with fading scars away over time. I wish we could layer scars like FO4 too.

Meh, I dunno about that. Unless they were going Bethesda style and giving us full access to the dev kit I don't see how you could add systems to swap things like face parts, and it would still require all the modelling and texture work be redone. Hopefully mod'ers can get us some new and better skin textures to use at some point but I'm not expecting much given, as you said, the problems with mod'ing in this engine.

Not just the textures. But the types of injuries and the way they were placed. some of them looks like Ryder scribbled marker, or their mother's lipstick over their face. Edit: oh gods, yes, FO4's layering system... giveme

I know that DAO was moddable to an extent. Plenty of new hairstyles and armors and such. Honestly, I think Frostbite is a terrible engine for RPGs anyways. Great for war titles like MoH, BF, even SW Battle Front. Terrible for ME and DA

We could at least move the scars around ourselves!

so no one knows if BW gives good head ? At this point all evidence says they can't. It just takes practice and a little willingness for Bioware to give good head.

Maybe Bioware should spend the next 5 years practicing the art of character creation, or employ one of the 12 billion graphic artists that are unemployed and can give much better results....in their sleep.

So, a main criticism is that the females were fugly. It was also a big criticism that you really couldn't make a proper white PC.
They answered the criticism by giving, arguably, the quintessential white male/female stereotype(at least one of them. I'm not counting blondes!).
Pale, freckled and ginger.
This just tickles me as well as grates on my nerves. I wanted a white character. I wanted a good one and I like this. I think I like them a lot...but it took a social shitstorm for Bioware to do it.
Hah. I'm glad the criticism is biting them in the ass. Tired of the political/social agenda crap to shove extreme minorities onto the gaming platform. Its like these people have some sort of self-righteous moral crusade to represent fringe elements of society less they think they have sinned somehow.
Yeah, whatever. I'm not on of the opinion that ME:A can be saved now anyways after everything that has happened.

All I wanted was a normal looking head preset with a Caucasian skin tone. The new head more or less works, but our only skin option is a ginger. /sigh Why is something so simple so hard for them to do? Its not like I'm asking for Mac Walters to personally ride a unicorn to my house and deliver me a pot of gold and a box of Klondike bars. Just a normal regular looking white girl. That's all I want and is the one thing BW seems unable or unwilling to deliver on.
