Mass Effect is a huge deal, it's much harder building a new IP than building upon an existing one. As the most significant revenue comes in the days and weeks after launch, that ship has sailed (or at least recouping higher sales that EA/BioWare might have hoped for), but the IP needs to be safeguarded and protected for the future. That means a couple of solid DLCs that leaves the game is a good place with a good taste in the mouth and perhaps a popular GOTY Edition , er 'Complete edition' next year. To see more Mass Effect seems inevitable, but they may take a little break so that they can come back better next time (heck, they came back after the shitstorms that were Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2 3 (note to BioWare, maybe less shitstorms in future, please ) ). I'm with you on this. Even if EA considers Andromeda to be a net loss (and there's nothing solid suggesting they do), leaving it hanging would poison the well for future releases. Yeah there better off doing what they did with DA2 just keep working on it patch it up to a reasonable standard and then release a couple of good DLC's in a similar quality to what Legacy and the Tallis DLC were and see where to go from there .I think if the DLC's work to a decent standard then I think to a point they can be forgiven but they need to fill in the gaps

From the AshesJavik was great and really added a lot to the story. It made the cycles feel more real in a way. LeviathanI this dlc, fun playing through. Going to that hidden facility with zombie-workers was a really good mission. Going down in the submarine/robot was so exciting I had goosebumps. It had little touches for Shepard's LI as well, that is something that I really enjoy as a player who cannot play a BioWare game without romancing someone. CitadelI dlc, it is amazing to me. Everything is golden except for the dress they put FemShep in when they go to the casino. I always pause my PT at that point because I just wish I could let her wear a uniform instead. Something. And then there is one that has many great little details and good story but I just don't play it anymore. OmegaFun story, I liked the mission and thank you for the interrupt for the engineer-FemShep but I just don't play this dlc when I run a new PT for ME3. For me the companions are too important, I don't like to spend so much time without them. It means I miss out on Aria and Nyreen but I just don't like to leave all my crew on the ship. The dlc that makes my Shepard go solo is the one that I am least inclined to play. The last two PT:S I never went to Omega and I don't think I will do it on the next one either. Seeing as I had a good time with the dlc for ME3 I hope to have a lot fun with future dlc for ME:A. Just hope we don't have to wait too long.

I was going to ask the same thing. I am truly hoping for DLC, both SP and MP. I would be really bummed if we didn't get anything. We have so many unsolved plotlines. It is the only thing keeping me interested in the game right now because I cannot go through another playthrough. No time and no mood for it.I have like a gazillion other games waiting to be played in my library . It took me like 85 hours.

Im guessing since Bioware Montreal was downsized, all DLC plans are cancelled? Seeing as the quality of DLC is usually worse than the base game... Can you imagine how fucked up Andromeda’s DLC would be? I’d be shocked if willingly would release something on par with the mediocre quality of the base game - and the amount of effort required to bring it up to par, probably isn’t worth it at this point. Multiplayer DLC, however - that’s where it’s at. Expect plenty - probably a Quarian multiplayer DLC incoming soon.

Some of them even better than missions of the base game IMO. I especially love Lair of the Shadow Broker and Citadel DLC. They added a lot to the game and were a lot of fun. I don't want to miss out on MEA DLC. I want at least one ore two SP DLCs for MEA to resolve some of the open plots.

I never got the feeling of DLCs being worse than the game. They usually tell a small story where more love to details can be added. I wasn't much into Omega since it was more or less a shooting range over several levels, but all the other OT DLCs had their merit. And the DAI DLCs really added to the game. They were quite elaborate pieces of work with Tresspasser adding a real ending instead of the rather meh vanilla one.

I don't expect the DLC to be of that level but if it was it would be good.

I mean, it's clearly wrong (even if we pretend that the weakest entry in the ME series = an actual bad game), as things like Citadel, LotSB, Trespasser and Legacy are all regarded as being both some of the best DLCs out there *and* being improvements on the base game. And that's just talking about Bioware, if we start including things like Dragonborn and XCOM: Enemy Within, it just sounds like the guy is totally uninformed. But it doesn't even make sense internally, either. If a game is so bad, then surely making good DLC is *easier*, not harder? I'm holding out hope for *at least* a Quarian DLC, and a Benefactor DLC if they're feeling confident. MEA may not quite be reaching the heights of the OT but it's nonetheless grabbed my interest in Andromeda and it'll be frustrating as hell for Bioware to dump this setting.

Given Bioware's past DLC history, who knows how thing's will pan out.Qunari DLC seems like a no brainer but then again maybe it will form the basis for MEA2??? I do think Bioware's priorities are ultimately going to have an impact on future DLC for Andromeda, with project "Dylan",DA4 and multiplayer maps in the works, Bioware has a lot on their plate at the moment......which makes story DLC for a game that did ok less of a priority. "Qunari DLC"? That should be interesting Opps.....lol,yeah that would be interesting.

They've teased a "Quarian Ark" DLC too much for it not to happen at this point.
I'm guessing the minimum two DLCs (Quarian Ark and Remnant/Jardaan) with a solid chance at an epilogue-type DLC like "Trespasser" that can wrap a majority of the remaining plot threads (the mysterious benefactor/Jien Garsen, Ellen Ryder's fate) leading into a ME:A 2 focusing on the future battle with the Kett for control of Helius. If they set it up right, they can leave the franchise is a good state, despite how it started in March, and it would be good for 4 to 5 years.

I think that the dlc have been well-received, or at least from what I remember. If we would be getting a new Leviathan or Shadowbroker, I dare not hope for a Citadel-good one I will be very pleased indeed.
Lair of the Shadowbroker is wonderful as well, always enjoy playing through that one.

Depends. ME2 had Lair of the Shadow Broker DA2 had Legacy ME3 had Citadel (which pulled the game's chestnuts out of the fire in a way Leviathan couldn't hope to) DAI had Jaws of Hakkon AND Trespasser Descent was really good too for Inquisition and Bring Down the Sky for ME1.

If they set it up right, they can leave the franchise is a good state, despite how it started in March, and it would be good for 4 to 5 years. yeah it would be nice. Hopefully they'll announce something soon as I'm sure people will want to know whether there will be any.
