Anyway, I gave up on Fear The Walking Dead a few episodes into the second season. I find it hard to root for any of the adults with all the collateral damage they caused at the end of the first season with Daniel letting all the walkers loose just to create a diversion. Plus we weren't seeing much of the supposed exploration of civilization collapsing. Somehow we went from a riot breaking out to the military taking over an entire neighborhood and then the Coast Guard broadcasting that message saying they couldn't help anybody early in Season 2.

Why can't Carol just die? I know right? I want that little wanker to bite it too! R.I.P Ohhhhh...you meant the badassiest of badasses, Carol. Not Carl. So embarrassed.
Definitely meant Carol. Can't stand her, she seriously rubs me the wrong way AND her storylines are boring af 90% of the time.

Loved the last episode - it was a nice contrast to the very dark and gloomy first one. If I become stuck in the ZA, I want a group like the Kingdom - there is nothing bad about escaping the harsh reality once in a while, as long, as you know, it's a fantasy. After all, we are here, because we are doing the same thing. I love, how Morgan and Carol are questioning their world views - Morgan was too naive and Carol too inhumane. Both should meet in the middle and they would be great. Oh - and all hail King Ezekiel and his magnificent tiger Shiva

I almost totally forgot about this show what with N7 day coming up. Well, I'm sure the time change and the election have something to do with that, but eh.
I don't understand how anyone can find Carol boring. I mean, I love her in the last episode where she just pretty basically says, "WTF was that? This place is a fairy tale."

So, I just watched the latest episode and I have a question - What did Michonne see at the very end of the episode? It just looked like a steaming pile of random rubble but for some reason she seemed to get all emotional all of a sudden. What the hell was that about?

The mattresses. They burned them.
EDIT : Yah, I know, I was just like, "What? What is that? Concrete? Did somebody fire an RPG into a small out concrete outhouse?" Till I found out later on TTD that they were in fact mattresses.

Negan needs to STFU. If I had to choose between meeting the business end of Lucille or listening to another Negan monologue, I might go with Lucille.
Is anyone else slightly disappointed that Negan wasn't a character in Fear the Walking Dead? If he was in that series, I'd be cheering for him to swing for the fences with every single character not named Strand.

Yah, that's what I thought about halfway through the second episode (err, with Negan in it). It's obvious that he was a high school gym teacher, 'cause that's all he treats people like. Treats people like little shits who are beneath his heel, constantly testing them, etc. Rick should've never let his ass in and just shot his ass right there at the front gate. As far as being disappointed, I guess so. I dunno, I stopped watching FTWD after the first season. "Oh we live in California! We're brighter than everyone else in the nation." Wait.... What? I would laugh, but there are too many moments where I can either laugh or cry because of what that writer did to the franchise.

One thing that always puzzles me is when smaller weaker groups get terrorized by people like the Governor and now Negan why they never start to fight back via an asymmetric warfare and guerrilla hit and run tactics. Rick is right, they're an army and you can't fight them face-to-face - but small determined groups have brought entire governments to their knees with clever tactics. Asymmetric warfare is all about fighting a superior force and exposing their weaknesses which is their large size and relative slow speed.
There are countless of examples of small groups vastly inferior in technology and numbers brining entire governments to their knees - Che Guevara , the French resistance, Afghanistan, Russian Partisans, the Irish IRA, the Mujahedin etc. The trick is to stay hidden and attack the enemy with hit and run tactics avoiding direct open combat. Crippling the supply chain with improved explosive devices, lone sharpshooters taking out key personnel, sabotage, burning down their supply storages, nightly raids - in other words - terror. Only needle stabs, but right in their hearts.
Thats what I'd do - I sure as hell would not stay in Alexandria and try to provide for my oppressors that threaten me with randomly killing my people - I'd immediately relocate the population and my food to somewhere deep in the woods and start an extensive guerrilla warfare from there.

It's not even about that. You've got a strong army there, but without their leader? Pfft, Daryl is right, the boogeyman ain't shit. I would've just put two in Negan's skull and prayed for the best. Especially behind those big ass walls. I would've done what Maggie said to do, and that was to get back to Alexandria and prepped everyone to fight. That force that Negan brought with him had to be the bulk of his army. Negan is not one to back down from a threat, especially a gun in face. Use that against him, and blow his brains skyward.

Thats what I'd do - I sure as hell would not stay in Alexandria and try to provide for my oppressors that threaten me with randomly killing my people - I'd immediately relocate the population and my food to somewhere deep in the woods and start an extensive guerrilla warfare from there. The episode where Negan came to plunder Alexandria irritated me for that reason. Rick knew that Negan was coming, a rough time table of when he was coming, and the route he was going to take. Having that sort of intelligence on an enemy would be a guerilla or insurgent's wet dream. The collection racket leaves Negan wide open for an ambush. Granted, Negan came a little early. But that wouldn't have been an issue had Rick been smart (he's not) and posted an OP (observation post) watching the approach on the road, with a practiced drill in place where they'd rush to a prepared ambush site if the OP radio'd them that a convoy is on the way. The road should have been blocked with a downed tree or parked vehicles at the ambush site. When the convoy rolls to a stop, because it has to, they should have then hit the last vehicle in the convoy with the RPG and boxed them in. They'd be caught in the open in a blocked ambush, being shot at from the front and flank, and the vehicles unable to reverse out of it. Negan's group isn't going to respond with any discipline or tactical precision, they're going to panic and try to flee on foot, every man or woman for themself. It would be a Turkey shoot, and likely the end of Negan and his merry men. Of course Daryl would probably die. But that's a risk you have to take. Negan blundered by not forcing the Alexandrians to come to a meeting place of his choosing to deliver tribute. Going to Rick made him vulnerable to an ambush, but Rick failed to take advantage of the opportunity Negan unwittingly offered him. Now they're disarmed and completely at the mercy of Negan's whims.

@hanshotfirst
Couldn't agree more. Also, whats very important is cars that aren't armored are total bullet traps. If you ambush that car convoy (I think it was 5 or 7 cars & trucks) and you hit hard and fast with massed rifle fire before they can get out you'd ventilate everyone inside in a few seconds. Throw in (literally) Molotov cocktails, improvised explosives (pipe bombs etc) and most of them would be down in under a minute, forget be able to mount any kind of defense. Rick had all the intel, tools, people and preparation time you need for a devastating ambush - yet he did absolutely nothing.
Before Rick screwed up and let Negan raid and disarm them it was nothing more than an attack by another group with the rough date, numbers, attackers and route known.

Yah, I never could understand Rick's almost lackadaisical nature when it came to doing shit like that. I guess he just figures that if he did that, he would lose a lot more people. Maybe even the fight. If you noticed, it wasn't immediately after they found out about the zombies in the quarry that he did something about it. He waited, thought on it, waited some more, thought on it some more. Then he finally called a meeting.
Good grief -- The zombie apocalypse just happened. What do you think people are doing? Reading How-To manuals?

Yah, but. You can tell he hasn't had a meeting before the day that Negan arrives. That's not really a way to lead. Well, ehh. It's not as effective of a way to lead.
