SAMPLE GAMEPLAY
BUILD: Throw (Rank 3) Energy Drain (Rank 5): Rank 4 - Recharge Speed, Rank 5 - Extended Drain Barricade (Rank 6): Rank 4 - Duration, Rank 5 - Weapon Feedback, Rank 6 - Electric Defense Weapon Training (Rank 6): Rank 4 - Power Damage, Rank 5 - Ammo & Targeting, Rank 6 - Weapon Specialist Tech Armor (Rank 6): Rank 4 - Protection/DR, Rank 5 - Stabilization/accuracy, Rank 6 - Reactive Armor
Weapon: PIRANHA with barrel/smart choke Equipment: Shock Trooper Upgrade
PLAY STYLE: The barricade works perfect for folks who love a high adrenalin//upclose shotgun fight. Reactive armor grants a 30% boost to all barricade associated damage and energy drain once you get hit.
Brandish a PIRANHA and go beserker, evade forward in 45 deg angles/slide up point blank close to a group, drop barricade, barricade starts stunning/priming/dot, initiate tech combo 1 (barricade/throw). If ya get hit, initiate tech combo 2 (barricade/energy drain) and replenish shields. Unload violently on mook faces with the epitomy of violence known as the PIRANHA. Adhis or anything creeping behind you will get stunned by the barricade. Turn around and unload piranha on anything that tried to creep up on ya. Obliterate everything from point blank/close range. When group's dead, move on to new enemy group, rinse repeat.
NOTE: You do not sit back with your barricade like a timid fool and wait for critters to run into you. YOU TAKE THE BARRICADE TO THEM!
The human sentinel gets 15% damage/accuracy boost from Barricade, another 15% accuracy/stability on passive tree and another 15% accuracy/stability on Tech Armor Rank 5. In addition, you get a 50% accuracy boost when moving. You will be moving a lot with this build and your accuracy will be sky high. When you boost accuracy by that much on a high DPS/low accuracy weapon like the Piranha, you tend to become a beast! Good luck & god bless.

My favorite build, love using a Talon on a power based barricade.
Run up to spawn point, drop barricade prime enemy and spam drain/throw. Then headshot.
Repeat...
My solo based character to go with Omni-link human engineer.

Backlash >>>>>>>>> Barricade Wrong. You can't drop backlash behind your teammates to trap them in a room of death with a fiend and an ascendent. Sure, they can jump over it. But when they're trying to panic dodge backwards through the door and can't figure out why they're stuck... Those are the moments that make this game worth playing.

I love blocking the fiend in a room with the barrier and then beating on its combo'd body while it helplessly tries to pathfind.
I have a similar playstyle but my build is different. I add more to Throw (I consider rank 4 AoE a must going back to the ME 3 days.) Throw also got the primer evo so I can throw Biotic combos in with the energy drain combos, as well as comboing enemies at long distance if I need to (such as using the barrier defensively during a hack.)
Otherwise it's combo-city, just without the bonuses in Fitness and Weapon tree that you have. I can get away without the weapon bonuses because I have become one with the Dhan (i am a Dhanvert.)
The low fitness just requires that I constantly be staggering the enemies, but with three primers and two detonators, uh... yeah, i'm liking it.

L2diemore. I am a pro at this. My best technique is panic-dodging off the edge of the map, and reappearing in the middle of a 5 annointed bullet bukakke minus my shields and most of my health. The only thing that slows down the fiend is a sacrificial snack... Seriously, SP would have been a much shorter game if the "Pathfinder" had used fiend "pathfinding".

That's kinda my playstyle too, but I use Hurricane+ammo for more detonations and I maxed out energy drain and left throw at rank one. Human sentinel rocks. Backlash >>>>>>>>> Barricade Not even close. When using Backslah you can't fight back in any way, while behind a barricade you can stun, detonate and unleash hell upon your enemies. Not to mention the bonuses that barricade gives you.

Yes, you can reflect projectiles, but it's not the same thing.

To kill things, no? What is Backlash doing there? Tickling the enemy? Does reflecting projectiles does the same amount of damage as firing your weapon and using your powers? I think not. I'm not arguing Backslash is not useful, but you can't say it outclasses the Barricade when clearly it's not.

I don't know how to make gifs like that, but it's easy to take down an Anointed fast behind a Barricade. Besides, try doing when facing large groups of enemies. Barricade helps you take down large groups of enemies, not only single targets.

I have a feeling if we really made Barrier and Backlash fight, it would end in a draw.
Just two energy constructs staring at each other:
"Come on, shoot me!"
"Nuh uh, you come over here."
"No way, come on, shoot me, I dare you!"
"See this line I'm drawing with my foot? You just gotta walk across it and we're on!"
And so forth...

I don't have videos of my own, but here's someone who knows how to use Barricade. 30 seconds into the video, he drops Barricade and then takes 5 seconds to kill a Raider. It took 3 seconds for me to kill a pre nerf Anointed. Was this supposed to help your case? Interesting... Oh, I do know how to use Barricade.

Oh, I do know how to use Barricade. It's about playstyle. What you do is rush into a group of enemies, pop it, stun/detonate them and take them out with the gun. With Backslash you can only take down single targets, and only when they're shooting at you. So yeah, to me it's obvious, Barricade is more useful and more effective.
