I like alot of people expected this to be a new trilogy, not Mass Effect 4. I was hoping the only returning races would be Humans, Turians and Asari. We would get a bunch of new races, see different cities etc. When I found out the Salarians would be returning, I didnt like it because they have always been boring. Then the Krogan came along to Andromeda and I thought WTF?
Then I got to the ending and found out that the Quarians, Hanar and Drell are coming and now I seriously doubt Im gonna buy anymore Mass Effect games. Just more of the same. Dragon Age makes sense as people are stuck on one continent but for a space game that GOES TO ANOTHER GALAXY we get 8 of the same races as before. What a load of garbage.

It like the people that claim BioWare should have made an ending canon and everyone should have "just dealt with it" I am pretty sure they would be the first to go ballistic if BioWare picked an ending aside from the one they wanted. |

I don't mind too much about the MW alien races coming to Andromeda. I believe it would make sense in some manner being what is going on in the MW with the Reaper threat. My issue is that Bioware could've been more creative in creating more alien races in Andromeda....the Kett and Angarian and that's it?......There should have been waaaay more alien species within Andromeda.....they was a bit lazy on that front, but maybe it fit with the narrative Bioware was trying to tell, but there still should have been more alien races within Andromeda. Maybe the next game will expand more on that feature.

It's a multi-species colonisation initiative that Bioware concocted to basically just shift Mass Effect to another galaxy and avoid the OT endings. Not really sure what you were expecting.
BTW Salarians (who were chronically underrepresented in the OT) are a Council race, and the most intelligent one at that. Why would Asari and Turians come but Salarians be left behind?
Seems to me like you're just blaming Bioware for not conforming to your unjustified assumptions.

This is the same argument I made in another thread. Andromeda DOES NOT feel like a new galaxy but rather like the Milky Way in just a different location. We only have 2 Andromeda races and ultimately we will have 8 Milky Way races in Andromeda. Unlike ME1 where we were immersed into the politics, the culture, economy, and culture of the Citadel Space, in Andromeda, we get none of that. We know the Kett=Bad and the Angara=Good and nothing more. No economy, no political structure, no military structure, no culture, and no history of conflicts (Like Krogan vs Counsel species). We got none of that. This is supposed to be a new galaxy where nothing is supposed to be familiar. |

Look at Justin Bieber. I mean... WTF. WTF? All in all, it's a product that stumbled horribly out of the gate and the hype window has passed. Andromeda, as it's patched up and subsequent DLC (I am still confident it will happen. DA2 got some quality stuff before moving to Inquisition on Frostbite.) is becoming a pretty, polished gem. At least that's from my perspective and I've had harsher words than you. |

I think this is what EA will ultimately say to the Mass Effect brand after MEA being a critical failure..... Nah, companies care about money over critics. And yet EA is very tight lipped about the financial success for MEA. Remember how two months after DAI released EA was talking about how it broke records and was the fastest selling Bioware game? Well it has been 3 months since MEA's release and yet EA has not said anything about MEA. Hell, at their recent earnings call MEA was surprisingly absent from discussion. All fingers point to MEA not being a financial flop, but probably not living up to EA's predictions for what they wanted. Also unlike the original 3 games which was a planned trilogy, MEA was always seen as a "pilot" type game where they test the waters to see if this can become something bigger. |

EA is tight about information about any of their games aside from one line if it broken some kind of record. Games don't like up to expectations all the time, Final Fantasy VII sold 500,000 less copies then expected. |

The plot is about expanding into other galaxies, you'll see various races taking part in that. Love the "this race is boring" comments /s Not to mention all the people that have the opposite opinion as the OP and if they only moved humanity to Andromeda the would say they are abandoning everything that made Mass Effect great. It like the people that claim BioWare should have made an ending canon and everyone should have "just dealt with it" I am pretty sure they would be the first to go ballistic if BioWare picked an ending aside from the one they wanted. Whew...there would be an Internet firestorm if BioWare picked a canon ending. People would absolutely lose their shit. |
