Abandoned? Hardly. I had a lot of fun playing the game. Have beaten it twice on insanity mode so far, and will likely come back for more eventually, sooner rather than later if it gets DLC.
Doesn't mean it couldn't be a lot better, but I'm pretty satisfied. Maybe its because I'm someone that can play games for good gameplay alone even if the story is flawed, especially rpg type games, I don't know.

The bigger question is why you feel you're representative of everyone who happens to have hated ME:A? Just because you say you didn't set out to hate doesn't mean that someone else could not possibly have set out to hate it. Are you saying that the hate others dumped on this game in no way affected your opinion of it? Or, in no way caused you any apprehension that would not have been there if the game had been positively received? Were you blissfully uninfluenced at all by all the memes as you sat down to play the game for the first time? Is your "opinion" of the game formed in some sort completely objective vacuum... because I was influenced. I was made far more apprehensive about buying the game and,as I sat down to play it the first time, I was not really anticipating loving it the way I had anticipated loving TW3 (which had such positive reviews from a whole lot of people). For me, as it turned out, I wound up hating TW3 and enjoying ME:A... because different people can like different things about a game. I'm glad I put my apprehensions aside and bought ME:A in spite of everything I had been reading here. Could Bioware have produced a better game if they had applied even more resources to it... probably yes. Would the public have received it well and gone wow? I don't think so... not even if they game they had of delivered was damned near perfect. Why do I say that... because most of them couldn't find anything good to say about ME:A despite it being not so bad a game and it does have many positives to it. While you may not enjoy it as much as I do... It's still a better game than it was made out to be by many of the previews, the metascores, and many of the reviews. Very true: Because I remember a LOT of people at BSN Prime and many of them are also here complaining about the title, Mass Effect: Andromeda. Then they bitched about the first shots of Peebee and made fun of her appearance and said she looked Shrek. Then they bitched about how all the female characters looked "ugly". Then griped that wasn't enough romance. Then whined that was too much romance. Then it's was typical anti-LGBT bullshit. Then they complained about the voice actors not being good. Then they complained about how the game was marketed. Then they whined when BioWare wouldn't tell them if had MP or not. Then they raged against the trailers all being making of/behind the scenes stuff. Then they whined about all the typical SJW and political correctness nonsense. Then they griped that you couldn't play as evil bastard. Then they complained about the feminists "ruining the game's women". Then they yelled about the Ryder twins being "too young". Then they created a shit storm about the whole going to another galaxy breaking the lore of the ME Universe. The knives were out for ME:A for worthless stupid reason, and all of valid constructive criticism was drowned out by bunch of fucking useless angry entitled hardcore gamer trolls that have pretty much ruined all of gaming culture. THANK.YOU. Seriously, this post is pure gold. Finally someone said the ugly truth.

It's unfortunate there are people like that, but that's why there's a mute feature in most games and honestly online play is very fun and it's positives outweigh the negatives unless one really isn't a multiplayer gamer, but hey, that's why there's options in games. The mute feature doesn't make these people go away. They're only muted, but you already know what to expect from people like that. If I socialise online it's with people I would want to meet in real life. Not with someone I'd avoid meeting at all costs.

The only Co-op I have ever been interested is the type that has my sister's ass in the seat next to me. Not with strangers thousands miles away telling me how they slept with my mom, or that I need to go back into the kitchen and make em a sandwich. I do RPGS, I do stories, and PVE, and plots and quests. I do not do raids and PVP and cash-cow micro transactions. Oh shit I didn't even think about how annoying it would be to be a female player in co-op. MP missions that force you to team up with random men? and talk to them? This is what I mean when I say that I just don't want real people in my game spaces, period. I deal with enough harassment and condescension from male strangers in my real life. I don't need to pay for the privilege... Not really. I'm a female who plays co-op/multiplayer games and I've never been harassed by anyone. At least not because of my gender.

I'm not abandoned, but it's disheartening to actually see WHAT MEA could've become with the proper resources and management. 1.5-2 years before the release, and they show us a piece of amazing world design combined with the in-engine gameplay and features. Should I remind you what MEA vids looked like?..
At this point, Anthem looks like a more polished version of the Andromeda. I'm not sure about how or why it is happening, though. Had MEA team been that desperate that they had literally borrowed scraps of their assets and features? Had Anthem team been using MEA as a 'training ground' to figure and test their upcoming features and mechanics?. The latter seems unlikely because sacrificing the ME IP to pave their way for 'Dylan' is a shitty thing to do.

Same can be said of jerks in real life, that's why there's the mute feature if they bother you that much, don't let bad apples ruin it for you or generalize that's the whole of online gaming. Like I absolutely understand the issue, people talk shit online, it's part of anonymity but most games have ways of shutting them down. mute, report, leave their group, troll them (me every now and then), etc etc.

Three fairly safe bets regarding Anthem. 1) it will NOT look as nice as the trailer 2) it will NOT play as nice as "inferred" in the trailer 3) it will rely on grinding for gear... period! Looks like a promising game but I'm absolutely sure that it will be more like MEA combat with flight suits mixed with Destiny... I do NOT believe the story part of this game will be any more robust than Andromeda... and possibly less. If anything MEA was a noble attempt at something special by inexperienced developers who had to work with inconsistent direction and under poor management. And even with all the evident flaws in the game I can at least see the intention and the game does have it's moments where it even realizes it (just not enough of those moments). If nothing else at least MEA tried to be a bioware game. Anthem doesn't even look like it wants to be a bioware game it is being designed to make money. I have no problem with a company trying to make money but stay true to what made you what you are if you don't want to just be another generic developer. I want my MEs and I want my DAs. If you have to bring in a new IP at least make true to who you are. I was reading somewhere that RPGs are not the most profitable games. They take the most time, and tend to appeal to a lower populated audience. Shooters on the other hand (TPS & FPS) are way easier and appeal to a much larger player community. They also benefit from story forgiveness. Stories in shooters can suck as long as gameplay is solid "Destiny... cough". Very rarely do you have a Halo or Gears of War game where both are incredibly well done. MEA suffered from this as the foundation was never set unlike ME trilogy. But... MEA's combat is solid... I'd say it's probably superior to all RPG combat systems currently out. MEA lost its way with some of the story elements and facial animations. Funny thing... If Bioware were to expand MEA (current system) into a open world space shooter (as is and kinda like Anthem) GTA style... it would work with the current assets... And fun for those that like the GTA sandbox spin on things... That wouldn't appeal to most true ME fans. On a side note, if they release RDR2 next to Anthem... ya, that will hurt sales of that game too. Think Witcher 3 and DAI.

Well yea to put icing on this bitter cake: Karpyshyn is working on Anthem. Why wasn't he a writer for MEA when he was proven to be a good writer on ME1 and ME2. You'd think if they wanted us to really grab onto this new Andromeda Galaxy going forward in this ME series, they'd put their A team on it...but we got C team.

Well, if you mean the trailers were less than informative about minor details such as the STORY... Idle curiosity time: how much of the story do you actually want in the marketing? I'm wondering if a trailer cut to your specifications would be unwatchable for me. Sacred Ashes or the ME1 Distress Call trailer are about my speed because they don't tell me anything about what's going on. (And yeah, Distress Call was all lies anyway.)

How about some important NPCs or companions? A description of the setting? Is there a central long-term "goal" we're supposed to work towards When is this? Post-apocalyptic earth? The far-future? heck, have we time-traveled into the past? Good trailer: I'm one of those picky types who like to read the inside jacket of a book before buying.

I bet DA4 gonna turn out either unfinished like MEA or MpOnlyMicrotransactions like Anthem. Place your bets now! Unpolished singleplayer game is a distinct possibility, though it's my understanding that the same team that did the previous game is doing it so I'm not so sure about that, but multiplayer only? I'm going to just call it now that it's never going to happen.

I'm still not convinced that Anthem's going to look like that on whatever system I own when it's finally released. Frostbite is capable of some amazing graphics. Look at Battlefield 1 and the two new Star Wars Battlefront games. Now you may need a beast of rig, but I think its fairly reasonable to expect that the final release will look that good.

My gut tells me that Anthem will either fall flat on it's face or it will be bioware's most profitable game ever. That doesn't mean it will be it's best. It's obvious that it is being built to appeal to a wide audience to bring in the big bucks. Which means I have mixed feelings about whether or not I even want Anthem to be a success. If it is too successful the suits at EA might just decide that is what bioware needs to prioritize and ME will be put to pasture for good and DA will just get scraps from the dinner table while Anthem feasts on most of the resources that have been allocated their way. However if Anthem fails that could put bioware itself in danger of being dissolved by EA (there are some assholes that have been wanting to see that). Either way I can't help but feel screwed. For a decade now I have blissfully traveled the stars shutting down threats to humanity both great and small as well as having many adventures in Thedas slaying demons and darkspawn. The last number of days I have seen some people posting "it's over now" "it's to move on" " get over it" "that's life". To those people I say screw you I will "move on" when I am damn well ready to. To me "moving on" is the same thing as giving up. The ME fanbase won't lose ME if we fight for it. For my part I will continue to support MEA with whatever DLC content they come up with and of course I will support the next DA as well but I will not be spending a dime on Anthem until I get a guarantee that they will start working on the next Mass Effect and Dragon Age won't be relegated to the doghouse.
