Oh shit I didn't even think about how annoying it would be to be a female player in co-op. MP missions that force you to team up with random men? and talk to them? This is what I mean when I say that I just don't want real people in my game spaces, period. I deal with enough harassment and condescension from male strangers in my real life. I don't need to pay for the privilege... i get you. Jesting: Let aside that many of us are drooling when they hear a fem voice. LOL we men are simple beings. we hear a fem voice --> we drool. Still many are not this way, its mostly about the age. These games attract many quite young I'm sure the vast majority of those you interact with are fine/nice/cool/fun, just like in real life, but then there's always that one guy out who follows you home at night spouting misogynistic things at you, or the guy who messages you on twitter to let you know he wants to rape you. I dont expect it to happen, but when it happens it really sucks. The question is, do I want this aspect of real life to be simulated in my gaming experience? I guess it depends on whether or not this is truly is "the Bob Dylan of games."

Having been a gamer for 30 years I can honestly say Mass Effect Trilogy was the most engaging (apart from DA:O) game I ever played and I played 1000's of hours - 3000 just on MP.
I was a bit hesitant on ME:A as it was starting a new storyline and introducing new characters. The original game was different and right for the time it launched but there have been many games released since along the same lines and personally, I was expecting a lot more from Bioware than what has actually been delivered.
It seems to be a lacklustre game without the engaging characters' and story arc's we saw in the Trilogy. The bugs are endless and each patch seems to introduce even more, now I have endless load times and jerky graphics on top of the existing problems but some of the quests are still bugged which I expected to be fixed by now.
I suppose it was always going to be this way with EA calling the shots; Anthem is going to be MMOG only so they can milk those micro-transactions. Well good luck on that one. Maybe I am finally getting too old to care what happens but dream of the good old days where games were temperamental to get working and the hardware even more so but when they did it was worth the wait. Visuals were not the main focus then and games had excellent narrative and gameplay - Half Life and Deus Ex to name a couple. That is why ME Trilogy captured me in a way that ME:A just hasn't managed to do.

I do not feel abandoned. Why should I?
I had (or better - still have) a lot of fun time playing ME:A. Sure, it could have been more if a bigger team with more resources had made it, but that's true for every game made on this planet.
I think it is a good start for a new trilogy (or even more parts), and I am only going to compare it to the OT once ME:A is at least a trilogy too. Comparing only one game to three full games is just not fair. That's like comparing an single Overture to a complete Symphony, if you get my meaning.

I guess it depends on whether or not this is truly is "the Bob Dylan of games." I play one MMO, and thats Star Trek Online, which thankfully seems to mostly consist of adults. And I got further lucky in the fact I found a great fleet/guild thats full of mature and funny adults and ran by another woman. But on the flip side. I've also played survival mmos, like Reign of Kings or H1N1, where things like rape "jokes" and other acts do happen if other players realize you are woman, rather over the public chat, or over private message. And its not just the creepy sexist remarks that are the issue, its also the exclusion of lady gamers in mmo games, and over all treatment. Being accused of cheating or haxs if you are better. Being kicked from matches, and other such things. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of shooters anyways. Mass Effects was basically my expection, because it was third person shooter, which I can do. And it is/was a rpg, and again, I'm here for the story, not for the killing of massive hords. (Though I cackle in twisted delight when I blow an enemy's head off.)

Well, I just started another DA Origins playthrough, later probably DA2. I am not even touching MEA, until there will be some statement from BW or confirmation of DLC, cause i don't see any reason to do another PT if this story will never get any closure.

I don't know what this malarkey is about no closure. I've finished one run and the story has exactly what it should from a literary pov. A beginning, middle and end. The plot was resolved with an opportunity for more.

Jaardans, Kett, Angara, missing Quarians, Scourge, mysterious Benefactor, Ryder's mother, AI future - maybe i missed something, but in my opinion those plots are still WIDE OPEN. The one and only one resolved plot in MEA - Archon. That's it. MEA desperately needs some DLC's and at least 1 more full game to finish the whole story.

MEA ended with the mission you were sent out to complete and you did it, so now it's time for the rest of the new stories we discovered to play a part in the DLC and next game.

So many plot threads left hanging, and no real closure. MEA seems more like a sequel bait rather than an actual standalone game. Because MEA supposed to be a new version of ME1 - a big opening to completely different story. Maybe not another trilogy, but at least 2 games with some DLC's. Do you think anyone in BW or EA predicted that the whole thing will finish so badly ? Big world premiere, under the sign of "her face is tired" ? No, they haven't been prepared for that. No one was. Ok, at some point, after patch 1.10 or something MEA will become a game which supposed to be on 21 march, but it's already too late. Even if somehow /don't believe in that/ we will get any DLC, and if any kind of MEA 2 will ever happen, it will be many lightning years from now...

If they had no plans they would not have left hints of more to come. The game has been out for only 4 months and everyone is just giving up on it without remembering that they had to patch in 4 months of things they were not allowed to get extra time for, plus recreate a cut romance and are likely working on the DLC too. We're getting one. I have no doubts, but due to the extra things they had to fix (new animations, new scenes, it's a new game now), it takes away from the time they would have used to get the DLC out earlier.

I'm sure thousands of people will be waiting so long for another game, especially if after 4 months most of the people lost interest on MEA completely.

I remember when DAI ended and they said there was no green light for DA4, everyone panicked and said DAI ruined the DA series and it was over (old BSN forums). They are only just confirming DA4 is happening now, 3 years after DAI.

I liked how they made Trespasser a proper epilogue DLC.

I have. MEA development takes 5 years /well, some sources says 18 months.../, MEA2 is not in development as far we know, so... 2021-2022 in the best case ? I'm sure thousands of people will be waiting so long for another game, especially if after 4 months most of the people lost interest of MEA completely. That's about the time most think the next will come out. I remember when DAI ended and they said there was no green light for DA4, everyone panicked and said DAI ruined the DA series and it was over (old BSN forums). They are only just confirming DA4 is happening now, 3 years after DAI. DA community is still strong, even if some people didn't like DAI. ME community lost A LOT fans cause of MEA. The only people i know, who are still discussing or playing MEA are here, on BSN. None of my friends or their friends are playing MEA - last week when i started discussion about Kotaku article no one was even interested. Sad, I still remember all our discussions about MET.
