Article: Mass Effect fans feel abandoned by BIoWare after Anthem reveal

I remember that. There were people who thought that the Dragon Age developers not being able to confirm another game meant another game was never going to happen... despite EA considering Dragon Age: Inquisition to be a success and the last DLC clearly being written with a continuing story in mind. 

Yeah so that's why this thing with MEA is not bothering me. I saw it happen already, and this is just DAI all over again, but a little more volatile because it's ME.

I remember the demand for Solas' story and they just ignored everyone and it took a whole year before we got closure (and more questions).

How many?

Anecdotal evidence is worthless. 

When Bioware makes the next Mass Effect, folks will take a look at it and if they like it they'll buy it. Simple as that. Then we'll all be here discussing the next game.

If it will be reboot ? Probably you're right.
If it will be MEA2 ? I don't think so. Someone who didn't buy MEA or stop playing in the middle will show absolutely no interest in another installment.

My Scott behave like a person with serious mental problems. Some other things from those "funny" compliations also happen to me. Life.
With Sara was better. It was already after 1.05 and her reaction was natural. She was just sad. Other problems disappear too.

It's like buying ME2 without playing ME1. Well, maybe you will go that way, but i don't. The problem will be, if i will not enjoy ME1, then probably i will never go for ME2, cause what's the point if the story wasn't compelling enough for me ?

I did that haha I bought the MET and played 2 first and then decided to play 1. I was surprised that people had shot it down as not worth playing, and then loved it. I think MEA will be the same in the future. MEA2 will be new, but many will play MEA just to see how MEA2's plot started and they will enjoy it. People now ask why DA2 was attacked so badly because many loved to complain when it came out.

DAIs original ending was a bit anticlimatic. But nothing to bitch and moan over, same as MEAs ending, which was basically the same button push fest as the whole game. There was no real boss fight, since after the last button was pushed and the minions fought off, the Archon simply crumbled. The aftermath made up for that, but it still wasn't very remarkable. It was OK, same as with DAI.

The last Bioware ending I remember to be memorable where with DAO, where there were several choices or possibilities of how it ended, with several possible casualties, the player included, ME and 2 where you could lose your whole squad if you made the wrong decisions.

As for the shitstorm, they called for it to happen. Whatever decision led to making the first ten bugged hours available to the general public by Origin Access, it obviously was a stupid one. Reviewers didn't get the chance at getting early copies. But every random youtuber could suddenly change a dime by slapping MEA on their vids. That started the whole meme epidemic before the game even was released.

Also, quite a few people probably expected that a five years development cycle would result in something really remarkable. What they got, apart from initial bugs and glitches, didn't write game history. This one certainly won't run for game of the year as DAI did. For a number of reasons.

Feels kind of like he stopped giving a damn about the series, which is odd, since I understand he wrote MAss Effect 1 and 2, plus other great classics in Bioware.

Kotor 3 would've brought the house down if announced at this week's E3 instead of Dylan - Anthem.
