No. I can't see how the creation of Anthem affects ME:A. The only thing that I feel negative about is the complete lack of noise on DLCs. Even without Anthem's development, there's no reason to think Andromeda wouldn't have been made in a different studio. A lot of the trilogy personnel have moved on both within and from Bioware.
Bioware can have overlapping games, hence three studios. The Anthem team are, quite rightly, getting info out about the game and working on it. Nothing to do with Andromeda, the Andromeda team or whatever has happened behind the scenes to create a slightly underwhelming game.

Abandoned? no, no my feelings left this franchise after ME3. When it came to ME I was an empty shell of a person after that, and in many ways I still am. I am not over it, and I likely never will be completely. Ever since ME3, I've found myself unable to truly *love* any game or franchise on any meaningful level, too afraid of being so emotionally destroyed again. I truly cannot articulate just how much I loved ME, KOTOR/Jade Empire was my first True Love of games, but when ME came along, it changed everything for me. It remains the only game I've ever bought merchandise for, and likely will be the only game. When I saw Anthem, all I thought about was "Oh look, a Division clone, just what I expected." I even begin to doubt Bethesda a bit, after Fallout 4. I am rapidly running out of games that I enjoy, and THAT is makes me sad. It's not just a Bioware problem really, all my favorite Devs seem to be straying away from what I love to play. I can't rely on CDProject, because 1 game every 7 years just isn't good enough. Dragon Age is my only remaining hope. Inquisition dared to give me a bit more faith in that IP, the IP I had almost written off after DA2. If DA4 fails, for me personally, I just don't know what to do anymore. I fee like I'm out of options. I've been playing genres of games I would have never considered in years past, like Sports games, more FPS games, things I had pretty much moved on from after childhood. I can't even buy new RTS games because my PC can't run new games, and I sure as heck can't afford upgrades, or a new PC. RPGs are my passion, my love, and I feel them by and large slipping away little by little.

ME was always able coexist with DA because they still had separate dev teams. So either the A team that worked on the trilogy and Anthem will alternate between the Anthem and ME franchises or as I fear the suits at EA will have them focus on the Anthem franchise if the first game turns to be the money maker it is being designed to be. Fortunately DA still has their own team but you have to wonder just how many resources will be allocated their way.

Despite this little slip up ME has the potential for some major cash flow. I don't see it disappearing. Just needs some solid leadership and a little less ambition. Having multiple studios means you can move people around when development needs extra hands.

Having multiple studios means you can move people around when development needs extra hands. I am not worried about it's potential. I know the ME franchise can be profitable because it has been profitable. I am sure even MEA made money. What I am worried about is the mindset of the suits at EA. Let's not forget before Anthem came along Bioware already had three major franchises with ME, DA, and SWTOR. Yeah you allocate resources to where they are needed but even when you are doing that you can handle only so many projects at once. If anything I am more worried about corporate intent than anything else. I know the dev teams themselves can get it done. I will admit Anthem looks like it is very well made but it doesn't look like what I am looking for. The suits at EA want to maximize profit and if Anthem can compete with the really big money makers that is where they will want development to be focused. ME and DA are two of my favorite gaming franchises of all time but even I have to admit they are more or less franchises that appeal to a niche market though they have been pretty successful within that niche. Though you can make a solid profit from these types of games they don't make enough to satisfy corporate greed that wants the to see the 15 to 20 million copies sold not the 4 to 6 million copies sold that ME and DA typically get which are still solid. I am sure the devs themselves are still passionate about these franchises I just don't know if EA is.

He’s gonna string you along for as long as possible with small patches to keep spending money on multiplayer. If this game had no multiplayer it would be over - you should actually be thankful that multiplayer exists and go buy some Andromeda packs to support the team!

... Kotor 3 would've brought the house down if announced at this week's E3 instead of Dylan - Anthem. Indeed. Too bad Disney destroyed the old canon!

Too bad Disney destroyed the old canon! True, but on the other hand that opens it up for a new KOTOR canon.

User Not MP related, but curious anyway: Do you know of any plans to give full romance scenes to those without them? Vetra, Liam, Reyes, etc... Fernando Melo DiscoBabaloo@user That's a pretty significant undertaking. Wouldn't be something we could do for all (or would want t, for some characters) - maybe future :/

Most likely some writers chose to have the romance be more implicit then explicit thus they wouldn't want to change it to being explicit.

That was for Sara only and now Scott has it too, so he can romance Jaal. Choose it 3 times and he'll ask to be a couple when you complete his LM. After you save the Moshae, then you can use the Heart. It's always been that way for Sara.

After the unfinished game that was Mass Effect Andromeda (Polish, features, characters) I feel as though they are trying to divert the negative press from Mass Effect away and are hoping that people forget that they didn't deliver a finished game. No doubt EA and their fat pig hands had a large part in that delivery, but also the Bioware executives are looking at dollar signs more than the quality of the their product. Time to finally call off all pre-orders from EA and Bioware.

So the reason they're announcing Anthem now is to distract us from ME:A? That's silly.

Time to finally call off all pre-orders from EA and Bioware. Look into the nearest mirror if you want to fault anyone for preordering any game. It's alway a blind bargain. I learned that lesson the hard way more than a decade ago. Back when I still followed the hype train and got a steaming pyle of waste for my excitement.
