I'm interested in this, but Ubisoft has a way of consistently delivering mediocrity. Also, I noticed they toned down the gore. Seems a bit lacking in sound/blood effects.

I watched it on Twitch. Reminds me of the MP for RUNE which I played for a while. The difference is the weapons will not break from wear, and the combat moves have more finesse. Gameplay modes are typical too; 1 vs 1, hold the fort, etc. I wish the devs are more creative / go on the flip side regards the game modes.
Wouldn't be funny / interesting if there're linked game mode missions. Escort the Princess / would be bride to her intended. Protect her at all costs as the impending marriage is of political import. Success means the next mission, holding the fort, your side get extra reinforcements / benefits.
Have a battle on ships intending to make landfall on enemy territory. Success means your side lands more soldiers. *shrug*

Was able to play the beta last night with my brother and I have to say that after some beginning frustrations with learning the controls this game has grown on me. Each of the different hero classes plays differently, and it was nice to see their versatility come into play during the matches he and I participated in. So far I have been having the most fun with the Nobishi, dodging backwards and then stabbing my opponent in the face for sweet, juicy bleed damage is just too good.
From what I have seen, I personally feel that this title is worth a day one purchase.

Nah. Both games offer something different. Sure, both use Knights, but that's where the similarities end.
I prefer the look of For Honor, both mechanics wise and generality. It has Vikings and Samurai as well as Knights.
