So I see posts from people referring to Shepard as a Legend which was true. By ME3, Shepard was pretty much that. This got me thinking about Ryder's story and status as a hero. In my current PT I'm kind of slacking off but so far my Ryder has:
Saved two arks from the kett and saved Salarians who were in the middle of early stages of exaltation process.
Reunited the Krogan with the nexus to avoid cival war.
Helped the angaran Resistance.
Saved the Moshea.
Secured an alliance with the Angara.
Killed the Archon.
Found Meridian and turned on all the vaults in the helius cluster possibly creating far more habitable planets than the few we know of.
I probably missed some stuff but just those key things seem like more than anything Shepard ever did minus stopping the reapers. Everyone in helius will know who Ryder is and everyone will know what he/she did which was basically save the entire AI from imploding while also being key in forming an alliance with the Angara and saving their moshea from Exaltation. Granted, it's not Reaper level, but as I think about it, Ryder accomplished a great deal. Just a few of them would be hero status. Frankly, Shepard was a hero for the one thing they did pre ME1, whatever you chose. Ryder's accomplishment by the end of the game surpass hero status and start heading toward legendary.

Not sure the distinction really matters. Both Shepard and Ryder killed scores of the scum of the universe and got paid in the process, and possibly got some as well. That beats any medal or adulation, though the latter tends to grant more opportunities to get paid, and get some more.

Ryder? I'm going with Hero, settling colonies and making worlds habitable, but will eventually become Legend as the first Pathfinder. I think Shepard hit Legend at the end of ME2. ME3 sealed that distinction for him/her.

Eh... Shepard only became a legend in ME3. Ryder is currently a hero. Get them involved in solving the galactic mysteries of the Scourge and Jardaan, and I see a legend in the making. Shepard too started off as just a hero.

Shepard's definitly a Legend, after all he did, saved the galaxy, reunited the old enemies into friendlies, regive an homeworld to a clanless species. That's a Legend.
Ryder's more of an Hero, for the moment. A bit like when Shepard saved the Citadel in the first game from an ancient Robot, now it's the Andromeda Initiative from exaltation. So he's a Hero for now.

What would the rookie have done without the Sam? This....Sam helps Ryder ALOT in the game. It's still fair to say that Ryder carried the majority of the load, but Sam was a big part of that as well. EDI was useful too to Shep as well, but not on the level that Sam was to Ryder. Ryder was also and still is vulnerable to hostile viruses. Sure Sam would probably be able to possibly neutralize them before they can do any damage, but from what we have seen in game, it's a possibility. That said, Ryder is on a heroes journey at the moment,....not quite legendary status yet. |

Shepherd already had a reputation at the start of MA 1 so everything after the start was icing on the cake to cement Shepherd's legacy |

It's...different. There's a lot of "living up to the legacy" type dialog. It was a pretty good idea to make Alec a former N7 and build around it rather than attempt to become it. It makes Ryder(s) their own character other than being an N7 type from the start. Still, there's a small part of me that wishes I could have played as Alec. I've loved seeing Clancy Brown since the original Highlander movie. |

More Kett are still out there but Ryder caused them to retreat a bit for now. If/when they make ME:A 2 it will revolve around the return of the Kett and the start of the mass exaltation of the Milky Way Species. would think 3rd game would be return of the JARDAAN |

A complete knob that everyone con's into doing the dangerous stuff. Ryder thinks he/she is a bit of a hero when in fact everyone is laughing at him/her while performing a masturbatory action.
Ryder is intimidating as a kitten on sleeping pills.
