But playing one in MEA is just very stale. Having 2 out is fine, the drones themselves are good. It's the lack of other abilities to go with them that sucks, if you want to be able to direct the fire of the drones (and you do because of the damage boost vs targeted enemies) you got to keep those 2 skills out all the time which leaves only 1 other ability to go with it.
You can't swap to another favorite without them unsummoning (maybe you can if both favorites use Engineer profile, not sure) which is extra annoying.
BioWare, can't you make an effort to increase the amount of abilities out in singleplayer? Multiplayer is fine but singleplayer really needs more variation.
Yes we can change favorites in battle but that cooldown is just so annoying on top of interrupting the flow of combat itself and in the end you just settle for shooting everything down because quite simply you can't do much fun in battles. With more skills out we could play around more with what we got. Spending skillpoints would actually become more interesting.
Why not 2 favorites that contain 6 skills each?
I desperately want to enjoy the game as much as I can but this is really dragging down the enjoyment of it. Even my very first playthrough I noticed that half the game in I stopped spending skillpoints altogether...

engineer is indeed one of the more underwhelming classes. But sentinel and explorer have a lot of potential. Definitely my 2 favorite classes!

Without the ability to control the action like I did in the trilogy, its pretty much a single player game with companions that do whatever skill is not on cooldown. This was jarring for me and it soured as I felt like these classes were no different from any other class once the shooting starts. Cover, jump, shoot and repeat. I miss having companions set up fire lanes for me. Shooting into crates isn't covering fire. I'd rather solo in some cases because there is less chance of an enemy getting biotically melded into a wall and can't finish the dang quest.

I certainly don't need more of them. I would love to find a mod where you can use 6 skills instead of 3, without swapping favorites.

Considering melee is much more used in MEA and dash is useful i think that 4 abilities instead of 3 are eough. 5 perfect..6th not needed Ammos are now consumables (i don't like how they work but it's a different problem) Old Vanguard had 6 skills but 2 were ammos + 4 active. Soldier had 3+3 Sentinel had 6 but one was the armor that now is inside the profile. So i think 5 would be perfect and ince i use melee much more i only need 4 But 3

Also would it technically not be just two powers if using two favorites? DAI was on sonsole but we had 8 abilities!on console 4 abilities were on triangle,X,square,circle and then R1 or R2 was working like a shift,to give those buttons a different setting. they could do the same here but as i said 4 powers were eonugh and joypad has 4 buttons just there.

I think the drones are actually most useful for a soldier or infiltrator type character, since they're relatively "fire and forget" and thus good if you want to focus on just shooting things.
The engineer was poorly thought out, too focused on constructs. Or maybe they should have made the constructs more active - let the player trigger attacks its special attacks.

Considering melee is much more used in MEA and dash is useful i think that 4 abilities instead of 3 are eough. 5 perfect..6th not needed Ammos are now consumables (i don't like how they work but it's a different problem) Old Vanguard had 6 skills but 2 were ammos + 4 active. Soldier had 3+3 Sentinel had 6 but one was the armor that now is inside the profile. So i think 5 would be perfect and ince i use melee much more i only need 4 But 3 Only one reason I can see: stupid console limiting crap. I say give it time... some modder will figure it out... maybe I can look into it next weekend. Then I can finally get to delve into the frosty program. :amirite: Rather busy the rest of and most of next week. I'm thinking it's more a MP thing.

Yup, the low number of active abilities is without question one of the changes I found most annoying about ME:A. It was bad enough in DAI. Then MEA somehow found a way to make it WORSE!

You know what would have been great? Some kind of special ammo skill. I have all these tech abilities and I can't have special ammo beyond consumables when my companions can? I want my own ammo. GIVE ME MY OWN AMMO that is not just a consumable for works for only a short period of time. BOO HISS
