There is more to be said: LSUfreek is a legend in our time. I have almost pissed laughing at so many of his gifs. Too many SEC fans in here! God help me.... LOL Only just now noticed how many of us there seems to be... or maybe we're just the most vocal? S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C and all.

What games are you looking forward to the most week 1? I think Bama-Usc is gonna be a good one and definitely Broncos-Panthers super bowl rematch is gonna be good.

As long as Tony stays injury free, the team should do ok this season. I predict they'll win the division I remember watching Payton Manning quarterback the Vols when he was there. Yup. I remember watching Peyton Manning never beat the Gators. Painful. The worst of that stretch was 1995 in that shithole known as the swamp. My Vols are up 30-14and next thing the Gators score 48 straight. Don't think I've ever witnessed something like that even to this day. Was at the 96 game in Knoxhell in the absolute downpour. Gators went up 35-0 and Peyton almost brought them back. Worried about all this UT hype though. If they beat the Gators for the 1st time in 12 years, I will buy into it.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I hate the Gators? I swear I would almost trade a national championship (not happening) this year to finally beat their ass. My most painful losses as a self-loathing Vols fan have come from DR's Gators. I also follow Georgia Southern since I played there from 99-03. Got 2 I-AA national championships out of it. Didn't play much, but always had a good view for games and I graduated with no loan debt.

I got 2 rings and 2 more for conference championships. Played slot back for Paul Johnson. If you're familiar with Georgia Tech and their offense, that's the position I played for him.

What games are you looking forward to the most week 1? I think Bama-Usc is gonna be a good one and definitely Broncos-Panthers super bowl rematch is gonna be good. LSU-Wisconsin could be interesting. And, of course, USC-Bama. Ole Miss-FSU might be an oddball game as well. Yup. I remember watching Peyton Manning never beat the Gators. Painful. The worst of that stretch was 1995 in that shithole known as the swamp. My Vols are up 30-14and next thing the Gators score 48 straight. Worried about all this UT hype though. If they beat the Gators for the 1st time in 12 years, I will buy into it. Heh, I was actually there last year for that quagmire of a game in The Swamp. Thought for sure the streak was gonna end until Calloway made that miraculous reception and scored right in the endzone I was sitting in. You could literally hear the silent disbelief of the UT fans sitting around us. It's a weird thing to hear a silence in the middle of roaring cheers, but for a football stadium... that's an odd occurrence. I mean, they weren't even mad or upset or anything, just... stunned. I almost felt pity. Almost. Oh yeah, did I mention that I hate the Gators? I swear I would almost trade a national championship (not happening) this year to finally beat their ass. It was the all time stomach punch game. I was shocked to say the least, but I didn't get pissed until the guy missed the field goal at the end. Interestingly enough, the DB that made one of the many mistakes made on Callaway's TD was a guy I coached in high school, back when I coached. Ha, I had completely forgot about that GSU game. At least somebody I root for has beaten them in the last decade. Their head coach at the time (now at Army), was my position coach.

Was that the game Georgia southern beat them and didn't complete a pass? I guess you wouldn't if youre full option.

In the history of terrible losses to the Gators last years was the worst. 99 and 2000 (Gafney didn't catch that TD, clearly a drop) were rough as well. The 06 game in Knoxville was the most disappointing until last year. In 06, I almost became physically sick from the way that game ended. Can't tell that I can't let it go can you?

Crazy old Les getting a lot of credit in both polls. Wonder if the LSU cigars will can him if he doesn't finish that high. They are at the top of returning experience via some calculations, but we'll see if that translates into wins.
For the counter example of why this doesn't always matter, if you take a look in the Big Ten the teams with the most returning experience are either Purdue or Rutgers, depending on how you weight things. At the other end you have Ohio State who lost a lot of players to the draft, but is still ranked up at 6, ahead of the school up north who has more returning experience.
Notre Dame managed to have 6 players arrested Friday night, which is impressive.
Hugh Freeze should have sent a little of the booster payola to the AP to get them into the preseason top 10.
Baylor will be fortunate if they can pull out a winning season this year.

Good to see Alabama #1. I don't see them being there for long with the number of players they lost to the NFL. Their first game is against USC. Should be a good game. I also good my seasons tickets. Its called the couch ticket. I sit on the couch and flip to the channel the game is being played on.
