Just got home. I was all ready to take pictures of my whole day today. From the trip up and all the wind turbines across northern Indiana. To all the significant places on campus. The grotto of our lady. The actual golden dome. Touchdown jesus. The entrance to notre dame stadium and where I was sitting.
But alcohol happened. Notre Dame played like shit and won in a blow out. Worst blow out win I have ever seen. This team is 8-4 at best.
The rest of the games today weren't as impressive as last week games. But next week we have msu-nd. Ohio state-Oklahoma. FSU-Louisville. Ole miss-bama. Stanford-usc. Oregon-Nebraska. Good games. Maybe I'll be sober enough to actually enjoy them.

Everyone started the first two weeks playing Sisters of the Poor teams, then got into their conference schedules, then had a patsy scheduled for homecoming in November, then your arch-rivalry game, followed by any post-season play (such as conference championship, national championship, and/or bowl games). Ever since everyone decided to expand to these 14 and 16-team mega-conferences, the schedules went crazy. Now you might open with a good game or a Sisters of the Poor. Then play a mid-level conference opponent. Then another Sisters of the Poor. Then who knows what in conference. Your a colts fan Nat? Tell me why your management loves Pagano so much? I think he stinks, at least Luck looked like the real Luck yesterday. I don't know, I really don't, they should have fired Grigson and Pagano last year. I don't think he is a bad coach just an average one. Grigson is really the main problem. It really sucks because when he had cancer and Bruce Arians took over I really wish they would have found some way to keep him but I guess you cant fire a coach who is dying of cancer. They called timeout yesterday with 1:15 left and I don't know why, I knew once they scored with :37 seconds left and the Lions had 3 timeouts, that they were going to score. This team is literally half the reason I am an alcoholic. |

The SEC never plays tough out of conference games. Alabama did the first week against USC and look what they did to them Sure then they followed it up with a game vs Western Kentucky, oh and later they will play Kent State and Chattanooga.
If I remember correctly Notre Dame, USC, and UCLA are the only three teams that have never played a I-AA school.

Bolded: which means that literally everyone else ALSO schedules some of those patsies to fill out their schedule, so I don't quite understand why you're only throwing that shade at the SEC, friend. Because in 2016, these things definitely didn't happen in other conferences, too: - Like FSU playing Charleston Southern - Like Clemson playing Troy and South Carolina State - Like Houston playing Lamar (a school I have literally never heard of until this year) - Like Oklahoma playing the University of Louisiana-Monroe - Like Miami playing Florida Atlantic and Florida A&M I'm not particularly thrilled watching the Gators play THREE Sisters of the Poor this year, but that's also sadly a money-for-Gainesville thing. Gator fans have actually complained about these games for years because nobody wants to go sit in our hot-ass sun and humidity in the middle of September halfway dying and passing out from dehydration to watch us play these kinds of teams. The problem? Basically all decent-to-good teams want to schedule a home-and-home. Meaning one of those years, we'd lose a home game in The Swamp and that gets all the local Gainesville businesses up in arms and rattling their sabers because the only money they make all year is when people come watch the Gators six-to-seven times a year. It's about money. Always. However, we DO open 2017 play next year in Arlington against Michigan, so, you know, some might consider that to be a halfway decent OOC game for us next year, give or take.  |
