Probably a solid market for a Mass Effect hentai dating sim. Throw in some tentacled aliens and the game sells itself. He's not wrong. If we're being serious for a moment (as if), the people who would buy it would probably mostly be the people who already buy those games to start with.

An RTS would work but I could definitely see a Mass Effect themed X-Com like game. Turn based missions with a strategic part where you build up your dreadnought and do stuff on the galaxy map. That could be fun. They could bring in more named characters and character interactions within the teams to give a more mass effect-y style. Also, the obvious genre-change would be to make a Space Sim out of it (there was even a decent fan game once, though I think it was just developed by one single guy, might have been called "ME: Alliance" but not sure). However, in the end, for me the perfect solution would be bring more elements into the game formula that they have right now. I know they tried to add the space sim factor into ME:A and failed horribly but in principle, I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily. Also, I could see them using more adventure and puzzle elements in future ME games. They have everything they need to do it already (the scanner, an inventory, a dialogue system, a research mechanic to craft/build/combine stuff) but they didn't really use it, despite the fact that they had quests for it (like the murder investigation on Kadara for example). I'd say, a puzle element here and there could be a nice addition. They'd probably need to make them an optional path since not everyone is going to like the down pacing this wuold cause but I'd be thrilled. Huh. Yeah, an X-Com type of game would be pretty cool and would scratch that tactical itch so many people have. Give the characters biotic powers as well as weapons and a hit/miss percentage, I could see that working.

A ME RTS timeline would be nice; Rachni War, Krogan Rebellion, First Contact, Shanxi, etc (aka Starcraft style) with different protags / races relevant for each mission / story.

With everything being up in the air and all the uncertainty with what bioware and EA plan to do with the franchise would it be good for the franchise to have spinoffs in other genres such as an RTS? I think it could keep the franchise fresh and even breathe new life into it while giving us a fresh perspective and even expanding the ME universe. For example I think an RTS that takes place during the same time as the trilogy fleshing out those events more. For example we could participate in parts of the reaper war we only heard about second hand (such as the turians and krogan having the reapers bogged down in a nasty ground war on Irune). What do some of you think about a Mass Effect spinoff? Of course I still think the rpgs are the bread and butter of the franchise but spinoffs could be healthy for it. RTS? ... For those who don't get it that is a Million Million Million Million yes's.

Would ME work as an RTS? I don't think it's a horrible idea, but I wonder how it would actually work. Also, would it appeal to the audience who plays ME games? That would actually be the question. Is there a market for it? I'm not into RTS. If there were any branching out, I'd do an RPG set around the First Contact War. If well written (always the issue, right?), it could be interesting, showing us how humanity was introduced to galactic society.

The last one was a StarCraft, maybe, circa 2002 or something. It's why I could get behind the idea of an X-Com type Mass Effect. It could be interesting, though I suspect the writing and story telling would suffer some. Everyone loves the character development in ME games and I don't think there would be much of that in an X-Com clone.

An RTS (in the vein of Company of Heroes I am thinking) would be epic for ground battles.
Hell, make a game similar to Star Wars: Empire at War, but improve the ground combat and the game would be amazing. Seeing as how space plays a huge part of the ME franchise, space battles and gaining space superiority needs to be a must. You could even have commando squads with stealth frigates like the Normandy to take the place of unique characters and agetns from EaW (N6-7 squads, STG units, Turian Special Forces, Asari Commandos, Krogan...scouts?) and have unique scenarios with that squad like they did in Forces of Corruption when we had to extort or kidnap missions.
Damn it... I just hyped myself up for a game that will never be made. Damn shame. So much promise in this IP...

I don't play MP as it as and my internet connection is shit. Posting here is fine (though not always) but to play online? I'd have my ass handed to me and it would be full of assholes making the game no fun for me. It's not about hating the concept so much as the execution. However, I'd be fine with it so long as BioWare were using this as a means to drum up support for a new ME SP game.

Archived campaigns. And non-canon custom matches. If they wanna go there, just treat it as extensive war sims (maybe with a more interesting and 'real' metanarrative happening about it). Krogan asteroid shooting, Asari diplomatic neutralization, Human war heroes, Geth consensual decision etc. Maybe have the writers involved to include some hints about what they would like to add to the context of old games and allude to for what they'd like in future games - just keep focus on it being a simulation of known (and perhaps some unlocked new unknown) battles of the Milky Way.

I always thought that Xcom should have a Mass effect mod so why not just make Mass effect a turn based strategy? You could also have a fighting game with biotics Asaris

I've played the C&C series ages ago, and Halo Wars. I can see ME as an RTS and I think the best thing use would be either the Prothean war or I wouldn't mind a series set during the Inusannon era. But mostly I want Andromeda 2.

Mass Effect as an Empire at War style strategy game set during the events of either ME3, The Rachni Wars or Krogan Rebellions would be very cool.
Otherwise I think an Xcom type turn-based game would be nice to see.

How about a mass effect where I'm not some hero saving the galaxy. How about make it about a gang war or something like that. Put me in a specialist position where I recruit some peeps,I don't even have to be a good guy. I don't want to be involved in politics. Make certain alien races available for possible playable characters. How about Mass Effect: Spectre. Play as a spectre fighting a gang war. There's so many ways it can be done. I think it'll tell a more grounded narrative than the formulaic galaxy savior we seem to play. There are other stories we can tell that can be just as interesting but in a smaller scale.

RTS game similar to Sins of a Solar Empire would work pretty well and would be popular. It's distances far away from Bioware plagued issues like SJW propaganda.

I like the idea of a RTS game. Maybe something during the Contact War. Also, keep a story with character creation and decisions between missions. And I can see a spin-off game just after the war, with humanity first meeting the other species and trying to find their place. There is potential for a few cameos as well.

I'd like to see one that runs concurrent with the entire trilogy. It could touch on events that the trilogy either missed or things we heard about second hand in the trilogy. Not to mention all the playable factions we could use. Geth, Terminus merc gangs, Collectors, Cerberus, Council, Reapers, etc....

I would love to play an RTS (like Command & Conquer) and TBS (like X-COM) using Mass Effect or even Dragon Age assets. However, you get the added bonus of a well-narrated single-player campaign. I still play SC2 and XCOM 2 from time to time. I would also like to be a corsair or a privateer in the Mass Effect universe. It would be like Elite: Dangerous, which I also own. How that can be translated into Frostbite is another matter.
