The Onion is satire and the whole SJW needs to be satirized because it's ridiculous. It was a concocted excuse to attack writers about intent instead of execution. For the most part, BioWare really tries to get this right. It's important to them to show diversity and it sets them apart from a lot of other studios. Their marketing division did more of a disservice to BioWare's brand than any author, writer or developer. As far as leads go, I'm appalled they didn't eject Manveer Heir out of Montreal when the tweets were so obviously racist and yet, "supported" by Flynn. This fueled a hate train that was going to crash the Andromeda party unless it was damn near perfect. And it wasn't. The train wreck that ensued was all the justification needed by YouTube's click-bait community to cash in. Looking forward, I'm glad Heir is gone. I hope Sam Maggs hits an early home run so the haters can find another target. I want to romanticize the notion that BioWare is an art studio, filled with writers, musicians, artists and directors. I've finally arrived to the conclusion that it's a production studio that needs to meet quotas, deadlines and juggle issues like field triage. It's still full of artsy people, but just as important, developers that translate all those one-dimensional artifacts onto the Frostbite canvas. Those guys just went through fire and brimstone. Nothing has been handed to them except challenges. And yet, I'm down for Andromeda DLC not because I'm a fanboy, because I'm wanting more of the good stuff.

I have to disagree with the notion that it wasn't possible to create a scandinavian-looking woman previous to the recent patch.

Wait, is my Ryder not white?  Because she looks white to me and everyone at my place of employment.  Also, I live in the midwest, so it's like 95% white people around here.  Germans and Scandinavians.  So we know white people.  And everyone agrees she's white.  Sooo.....

I was going to say that I normally have no problem seeing the joke in Onion articles, but this one just had me scratching my head.

After reading the responses, I assume it is referring to something specific (that I was unaware of) happening over the last few months.
