Worst part is, they say they were moved over to work on Anthem. Not looking good after pulling that stunt. hah! No fucking way is EA going to let them be involved with Anthem if they posted what's being said they posted. SN may have traction with RDR2 but I seriously doubt that EA would let SN anywhere near one of their IP's again after this. Like I said, EA loves their NDA's. Yeah they really messed up. Saying they did not care and the fans deserved the truth. If so, does that mean they despise Anthem so much they want to ruin it and their chances of working on it? They said they had 3 MEA DLC's planned. One was to come out in August. They were told in a meeting that the DLC was cancelled and Anthem is now the main focus. This led to the FB post. They added the BW doesn't care about the community or the fact DLC would keep interests going.

"no story DLC from us"
Hilarious. Sounds like BW and EA cancelled their contract with Sinclair. Seriously, all SN does is improve existing game play. It isn't as if EA would trust an external contractor to create DLC without the developer.
This is such a load of shit I'd be absolutely fucking amazed if EA ever worked with SN again.
Edit: Not bashing on you, suikoden, you're just reposting screenshots, just the behavior of Sinclair.

But who cares about "muddy the water", its about who is paying. Producers of movies have been altering film behind the directors back for more than a century, and they have all the right to do it because its their money, and yeah they are many movies where we don't know which part was the director will and which was not, it still happen. If apparently Sinclair networks would be this complicated and says they refuse the studios hiring them to alter the content they make, why would studios bother with them? They could easily go to an other studio that will be more docile, they are the one paying so it would be stupid if they didn't have the rights to do what they want for the content they pay. Apples and oranges. I can't claim to understand how these co tracts generally work, and I suspect you're in the same boat. I'm not saying that it works one way or the other. I just don't see any sketchy contraditions in the SN Fb posts. They all feel legit, to me, based upon my past experiences (with persons in general, in professional life, with this game, etc...). only thing is in this case the contract would stipulate what is SNs responsibility and what is biowares and who gets credit for what. And you can't tell me that bioware basically signed over ALL their rights. Of course not. They'd still accept or decline anything submitted. They'd tell SN what they wanted, possibly with much groundwork already laid. Then, SN would do their part. The contract is completed when BioWare accepts the finished product (or as in this case, terminates the project). ok...do you think bioware would give them all the work load? I could see patching and coding but writing and voice work? I mean look there three possibilities. SN is right. SN has been removed from the project and this is petty revenge. Someone hacked them or they have a disgruntled employee and all this is wrong.

Someone hacked them or they have a disgruntled employee and all this is wrong. I think most of your thoughts are pretty much in line with my own. No, of course BioWare handles the things you mention. I get the impression that SN simply brings existing work into a finished state, doing the detail work that completes a game. Any of those scenarios could be true. I believe that the heart of the SN message is true. I have no idea about any specifics, much like everyone else. It's convincing enough, for me, that I'll not be checking up on MEA DLC any longer. I'll eagerly welcome a surprise, but I don't expect we will see any SP DLC. It sucks, but wasn't unanticipated.

Hmmm... I just realized 5 months was the right guess in that other thread. August would be 5 months from March and they only deleted their post after they revealed the date. My guess is, though they may not be working on it anymore, it's still ongoing and they just broke their NDA.

Predicted that was what happened with the Jaal romance and patch additions. Feels good man. Well, that's pretty fucking dickish. I'm no fan of ME:A and couldn't even finish the bloody thing it was that dull but I'm hardly happy DLC are cancelled, both for what it may mean for the series and for those who did love it (though I'll never understand them). That's funny, because I'm fucking ecstatic. You know how much effort they're going to put into Anthem now? That game is going to be epic. Bioware Edmonton is going to make one of the greatest games of all time - they have to, because if they don't, Bioware is finished. And then we'll get the Mass Effect game that we should have gotten in the first place.

It makes a lot of sense now, since SN was also quoting the article without realizing it.

My guess is, though they may not be working on it anymore, it's still ongoing and they just broke their NDA. Possibly, in light of their previous comments in April. Still, contracts carry legal weight and complications; and its not hard to fire the fool who posted on Fb and attempt to wash their hands of it. It will be interesting to see if and how this affects SN in the long term.

OK when I go to that FB page I still see none of these posts. Who are sinclair networks exactly? Sinclair Network is a 3rd party dev company that outsources to companies like Rockstar and UbiSoft. If you scroll down their Facebook page to March 4th it talks about working on BioWare's patches and within the comments talks about how they recommended delaying the game until June 21st

No developer or publisher is going to ever be comfortable working with a 3rd party contractor if they're kicking out prior information, true or not. I would not be surprised if Rockstar pulls RDR2 away from them. It's such a boneheaded move I have to think an intern is running their FB page.

Have BioWare or EA made any sort of comment since the initial Kotaku article sparked off speculation? I can't recall seeing anything which seems pretty strange, even just a generic "MEA was a great success, and we look forward to supporting it in the months ahead." to head things off. I don't think we can say one way or the other until they make some sort of official statement, but saying nothing seems an odd choice. You'd think BioWare would have learned by now that silence just makes thing fester. This is what they told their shareholders, and ironically the Kotaku article quotes it: Earlier this week on an earnings call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson told investors that the publisher is “very happy with how BioWare is doing, how BioWare is treating Mass Effect. And our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall.” kotaku.com/sources-bioware-montreal-downsized-mass-effect-put-on-1795100285I realize it is against the law for them to lie to investors, but this could just as easily mean they are excited to skip all MEA DLC and start work on Mass Effect 5 in 2019 after Anthem is released. So it could be 2023 before we see another Mass Effect title. 2025 if they dick around with cut content like they did with procedural worlds for MEA.

The more this girl called them out on their true intentions, the more they backtracked, then they just gave up after she said they were just pissed they were kicked off the team, and then it was all gone when they tried one last time to talk to her and revealed the 3 DLC's planned. They then made a new post saying they didn't have time to deal with trolls, and then deleted that.

This I agree with - they're fucked. Not necessarily. I have worked with software contractors myself, and it can be really hard to find a company that has the expertise you want, the resources you need and the willingness to work under the contract you propose. Pissing them off is a decision best given some thought, and it's absolutely possible to run out of quality contractors willing to work with you.
