You will get some naysayers, but the majority of us are happy to talk about it! We have a thread where we discuss what we did in the game, a romance thread, general area for game stuff and a spoiler area for the end-game discussions, and a lot more! you forgot the Share your Ryders thread where people can show off the Sara's and Scott's they've made Oh yeah we have some pretty amazing CC going on over there!

you forgot the Share your Ryders thread where people can show off the Sara's and Scott's they've made Oh yeah we have some pretty amazing CC going on over there! that they have especially since the CC upgrades that Bioware has given us. I had a little play earlier but I haven't created one yet using the nwe upgrades but that's only because I wantto finish the Sara I have on the go first before creating another.

And here I thought you are a cool person. My mistake. Are...you...ready...to... RUMBLE! Not really. I just find it a bit ridiculous that people are still saying stuff like this and even worse, believing it. Because...surprise! People argue in real life too. It ´ s actually very common, believe it or not. ANd if people actually bothered to listen to Liam ´ s ENTIRE banter with other companions, they would quickly realise that everything, that was written here about him, is not true. I ´ m sorry, it ´ s simply not true. Same with Gil. Because as I said, people argue. It happens. What matters the most is their ability to overcome their differences and work as a team. Which they did. In both cases. And it makes them a very believable characters. But that ´ s just my opinion.

I like pretty much everyone except Liam because he is kind of a asshole to others (like Vetra) while not looking at his own mistakes and sometimes Gil is also annoying (like his fight wih Kallo). And here I thought you are a cool person. My mistake. DIE LIAM DIE!!!! Seriously he is a very irresponsible person. Sure his act first think later behavior can be useful sometimes but he really dropped the ball with that defunct warship mission and by the end he still wanted me to see cleaning his mistake as a win. Actually i end up agreeing with Lexi on her post mission evaluation of him. He needed someone calling on his bs so maybe he can grow and become a more mature person. I just wish Ryder could give some punishement to him like with PeeBee where you can make her pay for the material damage she caused to the Tempest.

The whole "thing's shouldn't be this hard!" vibe of his reminded me of...well, fuck, me at twenty something years old. I'm not so far removed from 20-something me that I don't distinctly remember thinking precisely the same thing.

Seriously he is a very irresponsible person. Sure his act first think later behavior can be useful sometimes but he really dropped the ball with that defunct warship mission and by the end he still wanted me to see cleaning his mistake as a win. I agree with this but wanted to add that I think it sets up an interesting character arc for him. He's not the bad boy, but he's not the boring good guy either. He's just kind of irresponsible without meaning to cause harm. I'm interested to see where that takes him in future games.

Yeah, I know. Honestly. But it does shine a light on what I was saying; some people invest in certain characters, while others don't. That's the sign of a good RPG as far as I'm concerned. When a character resonates with you, well, you'll fight for that character. That's a good thing. Yes. I ´ ve been playing Bioware games for years now and I always found characters that I liked very much, and character which I didn ´ t like very much. But instead of spitting hate on them , I learned to accept and respect them for what they are. And what they are not. Nobody is flawless. Hating a character isn't a bad thing. I hate Liam because he is stupid and don't think about consequences just like I hate Vivienne because she is a selfish bitch who only joined the inquisition to keep her status quo. For a character to make me feel something for them means that they were well written. A badly written char would be just boring and not make me feel any kind of emotion about then, just like Jacob in ME2.

Seems like actual people get rather upset about what other people think about characters they like. That's a little odd to me. I'm not trying to be mean here. I just want to point out that this seems to be some kind of sensitivity that comes up throughout this forum often enough where it's actually troublesome to people or seems troublesome to people whether others like or don't like some of their favorite characters. If it was a real person - someone you actually knew personally - it would make more sense but they are not real. They are written. It's one thing to be thin skinned about real flesh and bone people in your own life where you might take offense if someone doesn't like them. It's another more concerning thing to feel be that way about a character in a game or story. I mean it's not just here either. It comes up with TV shows a lot. And frankly, it's pretty disturbing to watch how people get sideways over a character they love or hate. I've seen some crazy shit around this topic (actually the craziest I have seen was in the IMDB forums before they closed them). I can think of some examples that made me wonder if people were locked up in mental institutions and given a few hours to access the internet for good behavior or something. It's a little scary when you step back and see how rabid people will be over a character, something not even real... Again, this isn't intended to be directed at you but just a point I wanted to mention because I think it's a point worth making.

Vivienne's most definitely a selfish bitch and uppity sorceress, but I can't lie: I rather enjoy that she's entirely aware of this. But as far as terrible people go, it's hard to beat Morrigan. She was pretty much a total asshole throughout Origins.

Again, this isn't intended to be directed at you but just a point I wanted to mention because I think it's a point worth making. It's not that strange. People invest in all sorts of characters from TV, movies, video games, books, et al. They're fictional characters, sure, but they pick at a part of the human condition that, for whatever reason, clicks with a particular person. A similar past or future, that shit counts with whoever you, as the viewer, makes that investment in. It's great writing that gets you there. It's what great story telling should do.

I'm still trying to catch up on this and late to the party, but seeing Fallout 4 hoax mentioned... Is this the same dude who, long before Fallout 4 actually got announced, made this fake countdown Fallout site that got people online unhinged thinking Bethesda was doing some cool, covert build-up to a reveal... and then it turned out to be a hoax? No clue on that one. I did get a story about Ben Merritt's shenanigans re Fallout 4 Group. Goes something like this: UK company GAME.co.uk set up an exclusive Fallout 4 Facebook club. Ben Merritt was added to this club and eventually began posting content from his YouTube channel. The content was videos of him building outposts and towns in fallout 4. Merritt incessantly spammed his content and had some friends plus some of his fake accounts comment on and like his videos. Other users complained about Merritt's incessant spamming and the group admins removed Merritt only days after he joined the group. Sometime later Merritt's friend Fangtasia HK (I think she may be real... Or not?) posted a cosplay picture of her dressed as Piper (Fallout 4). Merritt used a fake account to immediately comment how it was "bullshit" that he was removed due to spam and the group admins confirmed Merritt was using sock puppets to spam. The person who told me the story found several fake accounts and some of the info I linked earlier. That's about it. Merritt seemingly likes embellish and lie to self-promote for... whatever reason. I wanted to know if he had his IMDB entry and sure enough, he does. That was written by Mika Kibashi one of the links I posted earlier. This is similar to the fake Patrick Sinclair page written by fake Jorg Kellar. Merritt might even be into trademark infrigiment; I'm pretty sure Vault Boy™ is a Bethesda trademark. There's more stuff out there about him but I think this is more than enough. I think Merritt is a 3rd rate YouTuber and garden troll with too much time on his hands. At some point this stuff turns from "sleuthing" to witch hunting. I prefer to stay well away from the latter. Ben, if you're reading this, stop your bullshit. You should come clean and apologize publicly. In any event, that's it for me. Thanks everyone!

Yeah, I know. Honestly. But it does shine a light on what I was saying; some people invest in certain characters, while others don't. That's the sign of a good RPG as far as I'm concerned. When a character resonates with you, well, you'll fight for that character. That's a good thing. Edit: I just realised that talking about characters shouldn ´ t be a part of this thread. My bad. Oh, fuck that. That we can go from talking about Sinclair Networks to Shrilly being a dick to characters we like and/or dislike is why I came here. Again, it's a good thing.

Vivienne's most definitely a selfish bitch and uppity sorceress, but I can't lie: I rather enjoy that she's entirely aware of this. But as far as terrible people go, it's hard to beat Morrigan. She was pretty much a total asshole throughout Origins. Conniving... yet... I choose her on every subsequent play through. She's just a well-written character. One of the best.
