Have BioWare or EA made any sort of comment since the initial Kotaku article sparked off speculation?
I can't recall seeing anything which seems pretty strange, even just a generic "MEA was a great success, and we look forward to supporting it in the months ahead." to head things off.
I don't think we can say one way or the other until they make some sort of official statement, but saying nothing seems an odd choice. You'd think BioWare would have learned by now that silence just makes thing fester.

Ian is clueless to who they are, and was told to read the posts we recorded here before they deleted the post when a girl was starting to call them on their behavior.

They're actually real comments though, which seemed to be later deleted. It could mean anything, really. It could be an angry employee going rogue, or it could all be true... we'll find out eventually.

What's interesting is, they said they had 3 DLC, one in August and that they were kicked off MEA, but that doesn't stop BW from making it happen. They just won't be part of it, so they got cancelled, but they think BW can't do anything without them, so they felt is was officially over.

I just think it's funny that he made another thread so fast. This is his passion. I actually can't believe someone else beat him to finding this "information."

Nothing official, but there were hints at Quarian DLC included in a blog post that was made AFTER the Kotaku article was posted, and I definitely recall a twitter reply from Mike Gamble where someone asked something to the effect of 'is what they say about ME being shelved true?' and he simply replied with a snarky "They" It's bizarre to be honest - while I would absolutely expect to have heard about DLC at this point, you'd expect there to be NO hints about it if there was truly going to be nothing.

There was this from the CEO of EA GameSpot InterviewAnd they did confirm that they moved people around from BioWare Montreal to other EA studios. Edit: EA says very little about any franchise outside of financial reports and the calls about them and press conferences at places like E3. Expecting otherwise would be wanting to do something they don't normally do. It was like expecting a DLC announcement at the EA Play during E3, I don't recall a piece of BioWare DLC ever being announced at a place like E3, it has always been online on their Blogs or social media.

You'd think BioWare would have learned by now that silence just makes thing fester. This is what they told their shareholders, and ironically the Kotaku article quotes it: Earlier this week on an earnings call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson told investors that the publisher is “very happy with how BioWare is doing, how BioWare is treating Mass Effect. And our expectations for Mass Effect are still strong for the future and the franchise overall.” kotaku.com/sources-bioware-montreal-downsized-mass-effect-put-on-1795100285

I've been dropping by the BSN about once per week in anticipation of "this thread". I can't say I expected Sinclair Networks to be the ones to let the cat out of the bag. I hope their business isn't negatively impacted by this questionable (insane) decision. It definitely has the feel of a pissed off, rogue employee venting his or her anger.
As to Ian not knowing who they are: Yeah, right. I love Ian for his work on MEA, his engagement with the fans and his generally being a very good guy. He knows exactly who Sinclair is, though. Most regulars here know who they are, at least since they threw BioWare under the bus in April, in connection with the unfinished state of MEA. Ian is being circumspect, as he should be. He's not a fool. Still, this crazy choice by Sinclair Networks rings of truth. It's not confirmation bias that's telling me as much. The body of evidence since the 10-hour prerelease "demo" has led me to anticipating this for quite some time.
Whoever decided to do this is nuts, in my mind; but I appreciate their intent. They wanted to give the ME community the truth, as ill-advised as their choosing to do so might've been.
I feel badly for Ian and everyone else who poured their hearts and souls, along with countless months of crunch, into this game. They deserve more respect and appreciation than they've received. If we never play any more "new moments"/fresh content in the ME universe, it's been a great ride. "The best", in my mind.

Their deleting it in no way makes it "less credible" for me. What I mean is, they said they are done with MEA, but if BW wants the DLC, they can still make it happen if they have enough people, which they feel they don't. They also said they have not used the content they made, then said they deleted the content, so yeah, not helping me believe them.

They just deleted the post about not having time to deal with trolls. The worst part is its not like they have to deal with "trolls", they could have just left the comments on their facebook page and you know, not argue with the the people they consider trolls, but apparently it was that important to delete the comments to not have to deal with them, even if they did not have to deal with them at all... What the fuck is going on...

OK...whose decision is it ultimately for DLC?...EA or Bioware? I would think EA correct? They would have to sign off on it and then Bioware would work on it correct?

Their deleting it in no way makes it "less credible" for me. It was more backtracking then just the deleting, the things they were posting were contradicting what they said earlier almost like they were getting lost in their posts. As I said before if there isn't DLC I will just move for its no loss for me if they don't release more content.

That's what I thought, but these guys said they were to make 3 DLC's and had one for August already, now the content is not being used and they deleted it, so BW is on their own. They also said they came in to help BW helped clean up their patches recently.

I'm sure they wish they could expunge this entire incident. This helps Sinclair in no fashion, but could hurt them in ways we've already speculated.

He does seem really nice.
