Does it always inevitably get personal with you? Noticing a pattern. I'll steer clear of guesting in podcasts.

The only fanboyism I'm struggling with right now is my MEA fanboyism. I'm not particularly happy about this news. But again, just because I don't like it, doesn't mean it's bullshit.

I don't know whether this guy's reporting is accurate or not, but so far he just seems like a huge douche.

I should have made it clearer, I wasn't saying SN was Jason's source. I was referring to them as a 'source' as they'd been behind a lot of info releases prior to this.

The only reason Jason is being discussed here is because this has all blown up around SN and for some reason, Jason inserted himself into the aftermath with another 'repeat what has been said before' article.

You're correct about his track record (at least insofar as this kind of article, his record isn't completely clean) which is part of the reason why I'm so perplexed by his behaviour. No part of being 'fascinated' by the response would require him cherry pick screenshots and stick them on twitter to play the persecution card.

Alright, guys. After two hours this thread has five more pages of people complaining about this journalist or about Kotaku. Or fightning each other about their own opinions. I mean... Take it easy, everyone.

What you guys really think about the matter? About the fact that a ME:A DLC seems to be way too far?

Of course, and again, this is IMO, but do you guys really think ME:A is getting any DLC so soon when the game have a way to go on patches and fixes?

I think you guys have to face the fact that ME:A still have problems to be resolved and this will take time. With Anthem on the way, we may have faith, but I wouldn't bet it at all anymore. We have to accept that

I love the franchise, I really want ME:A to get a sequel, REALLY, but lets be a little more sensible to discuss the matter.

"Sinclair Networks" has nothing to do with his sources. You're conflating the two totally separate things. SN was amateur hour. No one with a functioning brain stem should've fallen for that, much less a journalist who has demonstrably real connections to major gaming studios, including Bioware itself.

Right--conversely, it doesn't make it true... But that's when Jason's strong record of reporting leaks comes into play. There's nothing really bizarre about a reporter doing their due diligence. From what I've gathered, people questioned his confidence that there was no DLC development (well okay, some people also questioned his sanity/professionalism/credibility/manhood/right to exist, but you can't help those people), he wanted to make sure he wasn't assuming wrongly, rechecked with sources, then wrote about getting a specific confirmation.

The twitter thing is him clearly fascinated by the rationalizations and personal attacks. We're kind of a sad petri dish of nerdery that deserves some gawking at.

I'm trying to be objective, and I see that Jason has earned the benefit of the doubt, though I'd be super thrilled if he was wrong (and still holding diminishing hope that he is). Even if I found Jason to be the Worst Person EVAR, his record is what it is. Who he is and how he behaves on facacta social media has jackshit to do with anything (not that I think he's acted weird at all). I don't think it's bad that people are skeptical, but a lot of this has gone beyond reasonable skepticism and straight into denialism, and even a bit of conspiracy theory quackery and malicious lies. 

He wants attention boys and girls.

Avoid giving it to him by going on his twitter.
