Oh and another thing to note is Ian's reaction to SN's claims of no story DLC: I hope he saw my victory dance.

I wonder when the day Bioware announce SP DLC for Mass Effect Andromeda have come and they said, "this DLC is on our plan for long long time". What this Jason Schreier & another one in this forum will do? He will say that after the announcment he just went back to his sources and apparently, they at first had no intention of making dlc but after some talks they decided to do it. Of course all of this would have happened AFTER he made his article, AFTER his sources claimed there would be no MEA dlc, so of course our friend jason could not be wrong in this cases. Because his anonymous sources could claim anything he wants and nobody from Bioware could say he is wrong, mark darrah already said why. The only thing that can't happen here, it seems, is to people to admit he was right, even if Andromeda never gets a single DLC. No matter what happens, it's clear that people already decided he is lying, that is just making things up, and that if he is right he only got lucky. He can totally be wrong. Different from what I've read here, the "plans might change" is not an easy way out. The picture he paints of Bioware is that the only people working at Andromeda are responsible for patches and multiplayer support. Therefore, if a major (finished) SP DLC hits in July or August, then he was wrong, as you can't make a big DLC is just a month or so. However, if a DLC is released in November or December, then it doesn't mean he was wrong about the situation in the present. And plans did indeed change. And, if there is a DLC in the next month or so. I think people would be in the right to say his article was incorrect. And his reaction might even justify some people claims that he is just a terrible journalist.

Hmm. I doubt it. The books are meant to explain some of the stuff that happens when Ryder's not around, not tie up any loose plot threads in the game. Plus the books wouldn't bring in the same revenue as DLC. Well then if this writer or dev said we'll get a satisfying end, the only thing left is DLC. There's no other way I can see fans satisfied. yeah, I don't think a novel is a satisfying conclusion to a video game... which are made to be played... I didn't even know Mass Effect novels (video game novels?) existed until coming to this board; I vaguely knew about the comics and that's because I was curious about the TIM backstory and went to his Wiki. If I'm interested about some element of backstory not in the game, I just fill myself in quickly via Wiki. I expect most players are the same, if they even care at all... So unless they mean vaguely/mildly satisfying the die-ist of die-hard fans of MEA who want closure, rather than the other millions of people who would enjoy a few more hours of content to play after work or school, then okay.

It appears that BSN is strong in their denial. Now it appears that people are once again using the "it was clickbait" excuse in order to allow them to sleep better at night. Well, say what you want be even other sites like IGN and Gamestop are quoting that article on that site. SP DLC is not coming and a MEA2 is even more of a stretch, but keep being in denial if that works for you. If you're going to troll, can you at least keep up please? How is having the opinion (coming from journalist with inside sources) about no SP DLC coming for MEA trolling?

MEA is in Hiatus so they can work other projects (read Anthem, etc...) The only "official" line I have seen from Bioware/EA is "We cannot comment at this time on any dlc" ( I paraphrased) Possibly due to NDA so I am suspending judgement. And Kotaku has NEVER impressed me as they either Start a love fest or a hate train nothing reasonable in between. They were dissing MEA before it even came out. Shoddy reporting with no objectivity. Wait Kotaku was already attacking MEA pre-launch? I didn't know that but I know this Jason guy has been moaning about MEA since April not long after the game's release and even then I thought "Good God give them a break and a chance to fix the damn thing before you start moaning." After all things like this can and do sometimes happen with new games. It's kind of why I've paid next to no attention to his latest article because quiet simply I feel he's just crying wolf to get attention. He'd better hope there isnj't a real one coming for him as I don't think he'll find many people here that'll help him out.

If you're going to troll, can you at least keep up please? How is having the opinion (coming from journalist with inside sources) about no SP DLC coming for MEA trolling? Are you even capable of processing words, that you read? It wasnt his article that was trolling. It was him, his behaviour after he released the article into public, that was trolling. A Journalist GHOSTING a FAN forum to see, how devoted fans of the game discuss his article. Do you see? If he had behaved professionaly, if he had just tried to spread the word about the article as far as he could and tried to be as confident as possible, it would be convincing. But he just blew up the image of a good journalist by doing what he did.

Imma probably laugh if Andromeda really doesn't get DLC. The mood here smacks of angry desperation and denial. What happens a year out from release? Will people still be claiming this is fake news and DLC is coming?
Maybe this guy is wrong, but what does he possibly get out of that? A few clicks for a short time? Hardly seems worth risking career and credibility over. He's broken reliable information on game releases in the past, so why jeopardize his reputation now?
He's trying to salvage his reputation over the hiatus thing? I saw someone saying he was "dragged across the rug" for that, but all that really means is a bunch of people on BSN yelled about it. No one else got angry. Anyone who pays any attention to BSN at all thinks the reactions here are hilarious. And besides, how would doubling down on something so easily disprovable in time salvage his reputation?
So again, this could be false, but no one can give a convincing motive as to why Jason Schreier would do make it up. The rationales being given only make sense if you desperately want to disbelieve him. People are banking on him being wildly, almost incomprehensibly irrational. Time will tell, but I'm starting to think BSN won't like what time has to say.

Patches usually come at the beginning of the month so I suspect we'll get a patch next week. What it'll include I don't know but I hope there's one or 2 nice SP things in there to play with They broke a bunch of animations, and some missions are still broken too it seems. The report forum for EA ran wild after the last patch lol I haven't noticed anything if anything the games running really smooth smother than it ever has. Hopefully they do fix those issues and leave us another little prezzie in the patch. Would be nice to get the romantic outfit we were promised.

So is there any word that we actually are going to get SP DLC? Or just "we can't confirm that we deny anything" PR bull from EA/BW? EA and BioWare are saying nothing, beyond "we'll say when we can". So they will say something on this, but we don't know when. Bioware and EA will NEVER say that there won't be any SP DLC. So if you are holding out on some official announcement from them, then you'll never get it. Do you know what type of PR nightmare that would cause EA and Bioware? People are still playing MEA multiplayer and spending money on microtransactions, the ME brand is probably one of the best sellers in the Bioware store, and you have a MEA novel coming in September. If they announce that MEA from a single player aspect (and possibly a MEA2) is done, then that would cause people not not want to spend money on any external ME/MEA products because what would be the use?

Nothing yet but there is a nwe book Mass Effect Annihilation coming apparently so maybe that points to the possibility we are. I can't say for certain though but if there is a new book in September then I would say it's certainly looking like we might get some.

"Credibility" is not a word associated with them. He's not risking his career because he's a gaming journalist and that means literally nothing. He's not risking his credibility because his story has more than enough hedging on sources and even a "Could be wrong!" thrown in there that all he has to do is say that Bioware changed their minds. He's risking nothing but getting a lot of attention out of it.

Just made a simple remark in the post? You were talking about it even before me, haha. But yeah, much nonsense can be found there. Don't treat it as anything else. Well, it all started when some random guy earlier today insulted me and every member of this forum (including himslef lol), because he basically compared us to some kind of weird conspiracy theorist, which I ´ ve never even heard about until today. *shrugs* Gah, I don't think I got to read that. But yeah, people can go crazy over the most trivial stuff in life around here.

OMG, I knew he seemed unable to accept that some people may question his articles, but I did not know he was that of a douche.
