Maybe this guy is wrong, but what does he possibly get out of that? A few clicks for a short time? Hardly seems worth risking career and credibility over. It's Kotaku. "Credibility" is not a word associated with them. He's not risking his career because he's a gaming journalist and that means literally nothing. He's not risking his credibility because his story has more than enough hedging on sources and even a "Could be wrong!" thrown in there that all he has to do is say that Bioware changed their minds. He's risking nothing but getting a lot of attention out of it. He's good at attracting the wrong kind of attention: heatst.com/gaming/kotakus-jason-schreier-bullies-a-gamer-over-call-of-duty-wwii-authenticity/

But because his most recent story does not match what you want to happen, of course you will go lengths to discredit him. Donald Trump would be proud

OMG, I knew he seemed unable to accept that some people may question his articles, but I did not know he was that of a douche. Yeah I actually don't care if he's right or wrong about the DLC. The guy does not deserve any attention. Period. Even Shinobi was chuckling along with him at how awful we are here. Never liked either and now I know why.

I haven't noticed anything if anything the games running really smooth smother than it ever has. Hopefully they do fix those issues and leave us another little prezzie in the patch. Would be nice to get the romantic outfit we were promised. Same. Some people just have weird computers or consoles lol though Jaal's a bit messed up and the eyeballs are a bit screwy. yeah but it is difficult when you have computers of all differnt configurations to account for all game companies struggle with it. It was vrey rough at launch with me it barely ran 5 minutes without crashing. Whereas recently I played it for about 3/4 days straight doing sidequests with my current Sara and it only crashed once. So as far as I'm concerned that's a huge improvement.

He's got a 50/50 chance of being right, and he works for Kotaku. The latter is the biggest strike against him. Take that with how he treats people who disagree with him, and you've got a someone who really shouldn't be taken all that seriously.

Yeah it's not really about the DLC anymore lol seems fans bitching for MEA to be released early is why we are with all these patches now, so I am going to relax and wait. DLC or not, I love MEA and will never stop playing it!

DLC or not, I love MEA and will never stop playing it! Yeah I agree yes MEA got the rough end of the deal I don't think anyone can deny that but to hang it out to dry like this is quite disrespectful I think not just to the game itself but to the people that worked to bring us it as well. Especially as the game's not as bad as what most of the haters are making out. I like it and DLC or not I can see myself doing many playthrough's of it. Obviously I think I'd probably do more if it did get DLC but even if it didn't I'd still play and support it I think. MEA doesn't deserve this kind of treatment.

EA and BioWare are saying nothing, beyond "we'll say when we can". So they will say something on this, but we don't know when. Bioware and EA will NEVER say that there won't be any SP DLC. So if you are holding out on some official announcement from them, then you'll never get it. Do you know what type of PR nightmare that would cause EA and Bioware? People are still playing MEA multiplayer and spending money on microtransactions, the ME brand is probably one of the best sellers in the Bioware store, and you have a MEA novel coming in September. If they announce that MEA from a single player aspect (and possibly a MEA2) is done, then that would cause people not not want to spend money on any external ME/MEA products because what would be the use? So if ME:A still has a market( it does), then why not make SP DLC and earn even more money?

The difference between ME3 and Andromeda is that ME3 was beloved. The Internet was angry that Bioware had damaged their darling. The reaction was anger, outrage. In a sense, people raged because they cared. With Andromeda, the reaction is not outrage but ridicule. The game was not outrageous, it was so bad it was funny. Which is much worse. The game is not beloved. There is no movement to retake Andromeda. People outside the BSN don't care about it and have already moved on. In my opinion this includes Bioware itself - that's what I think the Anthem reveal was. I agree with everything you said. EA and Bioware created the problem because the game came out in a very bad state. If the game was released as it is now with the 1.8 patch the reviews and scores would have been much better and without all the ridicule the game got as the game is much better now. The damage is done now and cannot be undone.

Bioware and EA will NEVER say that there won't be any SP DLC. Based on their prior history with DA2 (posted somewhere in this thread) when they announced that they were cancelling an expansion and releasing one DLC, I think they likely will put out a statement if there is going to be no additional content. It might be after they've got most of the patching done, but I don't think they'll just say nothing.

Imma probably laugh if Andromeda really doesn't get DLC. The mood here smacks of angry desperation and denial. What happens a year out from release? Will people still be claiming this is fake news and DLC is coming? Funny, to me it looks like optimism and a whole lot of people who aren't willing to be easily deterred, saddened or misled because someone says otherwise to what the want. I don't really see any anger other than tiring of people who insist on telling us what we want isn't going to happen and getting their rocks off on it. That just makes those other people pathetic. Us? We're good. We choose to see the glass as half full. When DLC drops none of us will have sad here sad about not getting it. We'll have spent this whole time happy about what we wanted knowing it was going to happen.

His reputation is massively overblown, just because he made basic investigative journalism two times in his career. That's how shitty gaming press is, when they celebrate a guy for doing basic work journalists had established in late 19th century. EDIT#1
If Trump would be proud with anyone, he'd be proud with Jason. Did the least amount of work possible and got hugely respected reputation, along with crowd of people not questioning anything he spews and celebrate him mocking and bullying "lesser" people.

My Google-fu isn't what it used to be put I'll see if I can find it. I distinctly remember someone from BioWare making a comment like that. Good luck! I gave up 10 pages in lol Well, I did find the title of the old thread on here using Google, "I Hope They Tie Up Loose Ends", but it appears that the thread was deleted or moved. Probably merged in one of the consolidation threads around here.

It makes sense to appease the people that have supported them through this tough time by tying up those stories with satisfactory conclusions to help them do better with future projects. Any kind odf closure good or bad is better than having no closuer at all. If there's any lessons to be learned from not just MEA but it's predecessor ME3 as well it's that.

Probably merged in one of the consolidation threads around here. I found it and cached it to read it. That's not it though. This was just a week ago I think. That was the first time Kotaku stirred shit. I found it though! https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/6jven7/new_content_inc_writer_for_me_no_spoilers/ "Something about they cant comment on future projects when someone asked about the arc DLC. And then later suggesting specific questions will be resolved. The implication being there was something in development." That's why I thought the novel. Oh, the tweet from the ME writer. You're right, that was recent. What I was thinking about was from a couple of months ago. Well, I'm fairly certain Catherynne Valente wrote the novel months ago since she's been book touring to support a recent novel of her own. It'd be tough to use submitted work like a novel to tie up any loose ends. They'd probably have to rewrite parts of them to do that.
