If he was confident of his first article being correct, it would have been more professional to just let it stand and let time take care of proving it. It's not what he did and he's now paying the price for that. All I've said is that, IMO, is unprofessional on his part... and you just can't stand that I'm sending a little "constructive" criticism his way. He's got a real fanboy in you, doesn't he?

Fine, I don't like the guy... My opinion of him is based on how he reports things, and I consider him to be an unprofessional reporter. I just don't know what your problems is with my judging an individual reporter based on my first-hand assessment of his articles and his podcasts.

It actually beats the hell out of suspecting that he's also someone else or that he instigated all of this, etc. (as some others have been suddenly doing since he published this article).

Just saying people that are familiar with BioWare's plans? Also, if this people are so familiar with BioWare's why would they risk their job security to some random reporter? Part of this problem, is BioWare being so coy and cryptic about this. It is has much BioWare's fault as this guy's fault.

AGREED! UGH! The voice of reason. I know Abaris will school me on this, but dang it... EA has to provide PR. Doing nothing is not earning a check. The developers are working and saying nothing. If anything, give them that share of PR's payroll. Capiche?

SofaJockey explained pretty well earlier in this thread that when they announce they are working on DLC, it changes how they can count profits, as well as there being other legal things having to do with being part of EA. They are under contract with EA and can only discuss things that will impact profits when it is allowed by the contract. It's all just boring bureaucracy stuff, really.

The thing I don't get is why people are acting like using unnamed sources is something new, like using them isn't done everyday in numerous stories.

Sources say so and so player is being traded to this team
Sources say the health care bill does not have the votes to pass
Sources say so and so singer is in the studio working on a new album

It's done ALL THE TIME.

A source speaking on the condition of anonymity because they aren't authorized the speak on the subject.

Why are these people unnnamed? Because they don't want to get fired, sued or both.

He was being mentioned (not attacked, no-one was giving this guy both barrels until he inflamed things) because his story has no known sources and sounds like a known hoax. That's pretty much it.

I don't know anything about that case. Just because something is written in red all over it doesn't make it all true, or all wrong.

And I didn't dismiss it. I've seem something that might be a bad article and I'm considering it. If other evidences are posted that points to Jason being a bad journalist than I'll consider him a bad journalist.
