So I am well into my third PT of MEA now and well have been esentially playing the game a lot of the same way. But, I have played the game often enough and long enough to be developing preferences and tactics for those preferences.
My favorite profiles are so far:
Infiltrator: Honestly in MET I did not get a chance to really run an infitrator despite, theoretically, being something that should be right up my ally, at least figuratively. My canon Female Shepard was a hard charging AR wielding soldier. And my alternate Male Shepard was a Vanguard and morphed into a Sentinel.
But, I finally got a chance to play an Infiltrator in MEA and the experience was most enlightening. With the ability to see through walls and dissapear when evading made the Profile highly versitile, highly manuverable, and highly tactical. As you could literally shoot things. Actually got me out of a couple of bugs a couple of times.
Tactics with the Infiltrator are two fold. One either manuvering around the battlfield and being mobile enough lining up shots with either Assault Rifle or fast firing Sniper....or staying at range and picking things off with a Black Widow, through rocks, walls, etc.
Explorer:
Ironically enough the new profile has quickly become my favorite. I did not even start running around with it until my third PT but much like with the Infiltrator's tactical options the biotic blinking effect is great for tactical applications. Morphing through walls and solid objects, dissapearing and reappering...I can just imagine the Kett, who has no experience with biotics totally freaking out.
My tactic I use, it in the open world. With biotic charge, Tactical Cloak, and turbo charge, it gives Ryder a sense of hard charging hit and run. The ability to traverse the 'open world' quickly, and quickly get into position, leading from the front, and then dissapearing before lining up shots and dominating the battlefield with the turbocharge combined with the ghost.
How about you? In the interest of me starting another character maybe one day what tactics do you use with your profiles so I can get additional ideas to try in the future?

Engineer and Infiltrator are my favorites. In the original trilogy, Infiltrator was my way of learning how to play without the action/pause feature for MP. Engineers allow me to take cover, stay in cover and deploy drones. Once the grenades start coming in, move into new cover and repeat the process... until Banshees enter the fray. Then it's time to really act like a soldier and move, shoot and communicate. In Andromeda, engineers on the PS4 aren't great. On the new rig, I'm too stubborn to give up that class. I'm going to make it work for Andromeda. Infilitrators are my favorite for Andromeda. I'm a jet-packing, Boba Fett, Kett-slaying badass.

I love Engineer and Vanguard!
I am currently using a mix of Throw, Overload and Singularity (I love the throw/singularity combos).

And Robert, even though his profile is a soldier...or infiltrator....also has a drone casting profile. I use them both in bosses, especially Ascendant engagements to give me extra firepower against the Ascendant and to try staying in the background, in cover, and picking them off. Though when I destroy the orb with Cassandra she tends to swoop in with her ghost or RPG fire to try and take them down very quickly.

I love Engineer and Vanguard! I am currently using a mix of Throw, Overload and Singularity (I love the throw/singularity combos).I'm going to have to try that. I never got into biotics. I always depended on my companion biotics (Liara was my go-to Biotic throughout the trilogy. In ME2, it was Jack) and I loved controlling entrance points of baddies. Coming out of the shuttle (or in the shuttle!): Singularity. Coming in from a hallway: Singularity. Wait for the cooldown, and Warp. Boom. Cleared. Next?

I'm still working through my first playthrough... infiltrator (which has always been my favorite from the Trilogy). This one, so far, is pretty much a pure sniper (carrying a Valiant SR and Raptor SR). At Ian's recommendation, I've just recently crafted a P.A.W. AR and am using that right now instead of the Raptor... and putting points into the AR now as well). My go to powers are, so far, just the tactical cloak... along with Energy Drain and Incinerate - all max'd. I'm also focusing on max'ing out the tech passives. So far it's working just fine for me, but I can see where I'm going to have to start branching out a bit. Some of the fights on Voeld are just taking too long and my life support runs out before the battle is finished (and if there's no heat lamp around, I'm pretty much hooped).
I'm undecided what powers I want to add in next... any recommendations?

Yeah use Singularity, let the enemies get caught in it, then use Throw and you get a biotic explosion! I use Overload to bring down the enemies shields so my biotics actually work haha I also like to Charge and combine it with Nova!

I'm undecided what powers I want to add in next... any recommendations? I find overload tends to work well with Energy Drain. It basically turns you into a shield draining, Remnant destroying, combo wielding menace, though I have not really decided myself if the group energy drain or the detonating energy drain is best partially because I am unsure if the 'always priming' technical ability actually turns your abilities into primers (the icon does not appear, though I think it does, but then I am being conservative with Cassandra and specced her into priming energy drain.) The only other thing that could help you defeat bad guys quickly, especiall with a good AR like the PAW, Ghost, or Valkyrie is Turbo Charge. Get into close range encounters and go wild killing things very quickly, especially if you can reliably land headshots. The PAW and ghost is great because of high ammo capacities while the Valkyrie hits like a freight trane. Though, this also does depend on the armor you are using...

I did my first playthrough and while it was cool for some reason I did not like it too much, so my third pt (and second with Cass) I actually really ended up switching around a lot of her powers actually. But I dropped Incinerate from her menu entirely.

I'm regularly using both as power combos... both detonating my own by throwing incinerate first followed by energy drain and by using Drack and Jaal or Liam to also detonate what I prime. I've just leveled incinerate (in the last 5 mins) so it now says that it will also act as a combo detonator... hope that it still works as a primer. 'splosions... 'splosions everywhere! Still, for some odd reason, I'm running low on life support in some of the battles on Voeld. (I had gotten to this point once before... before a IRL lightning incident corrupted my file and I don't recall having this sort of issue... may be a bug with either the climate or the life support meter... don't know yet).

Turrets might work if he truly likes sticking to long range. Give him extra fire power that is even 'automatic' to a certain degree. Hell Barricade might also work in that role because doesen't it buff your weapons?

Always fun. Yeah I'm loving using Charge on my Sara atm. Have to admit the biotic powers in MEA I'm finding great fun to use probably even more fun than in the trilogy and I loved them there as well. It's one of the main reasons whiy I loved the Adept class in the trliogy. Just like that foolish security guard that says "Well I don't need a gun to rip you to pieces" and my Shep thinks well neither do I right before biotically slamming her into the wall. But yeah Adept and Soldier were my 2 favourite classes from the trilogy not too sure about MEA yet though but so far my favourite playthrough was probably my first which was a mix of Adept/Infiltrator in that my first Sara was basically an Infiltrator with a few biotic powers at her disposal. My next Sara I was planning to be a Sentinel type so that'll make it interesting I think. As she'll be relying less on outright firepower other than maybe carrying an Assault/sniper rifle and will rely more on her powers to get through the situation.

I never really understood how to play that class, but would love to try it in MEA. How does it work best?

Yeah that does seem odd. I do remember other people saying Voeld was killing them unnaturally fast too. colfoley yeah Barricade has saved me many times! Especially when infiltrating those Kett bases. I can never find that damn alarm... I think I can confirm some sort of bug... I just did a battle where there was a heat lamp... started to die but made it to the lamp and finished the battle. Now, I have absolutely no life support meter and can walk around away from the lamp forever and not die at all. I went from dying from the cold every few seconds to not dying from the cold ever without doing anything except standing by one heat lamp once to recover the meter. I'll take it ... but something is most certainly fishy.

Kaidan was a Sentinel right? I never really understood how to play that class, but would love to try it in MEA. How does it work best? Well keep in mind they made the Sentinel an absolute tanky God of destruction and just steamrolling over opponents and survivable as hell in ME 2...then really nerfed it in ME 3 and MEA. Granted having the extra survivability is nice in MEA but its nowhere near as powerful as it was in ME 2. I'd have loved if Tech armor was an ability you could evolve rather then a profile skill.

I've not tried the Sentinel on MEA yet but I've used it a few times on the trilogy. But yeah Kaidan is a Sentinel
