They either release one or they don't. My world will not end if they don't. I'm still going to play the shit out of Anthem.
The only thing I know is that ME:A made a profit, there is still a large enough online Community to do Events for and release DLCs to make even more money. And then a wild crowed on Twitter appeares and says; Hey for a SP DLC for your game, we will give you even more money.
I mean we can argue about ME:A having bad reviews all day long. But then you are kind of missing a whole different plot here.

So the best DLC in the entire ME franchise was done by Austin? Thats good news. The Descent was DLC for DA not ME and, personally, it was the worst DLC of DA:I. Fuck me, I mixed it up with Leviathan. Yeah, The Descent was pretty mediocre.

They finally locked it down to the point that it feels really polished. There are a few old issues still lingering and this is Frostbite... y'all... beautiful, but fragile... it breaks easily even in the hands of these lower-level developers not because of skill, but the engine itself. This is the new frontier for BioWare. Yeah, they had troubles with Inquisition in Edmonton. Believe me... I remember. In the end, Inquisition earned GOTY. It still lacks a lot of WHAT I WANT (AND I WANT IT NOW!), but it's still so beautiful and well-executed. It runs fine on this tired rig at high and that's saying a lot. Especially in today's AAA market. Bethesda would have the most hilariously bad games if it weren't for modders. You know it and I know it. You can't rush the art and 1.09 is about as stable as a platform to build upon. N7 is my date. I don't think September is realistic except maybe an announcement that will get people primed for it. It will be close to Christmas, people will feel good about it again and I hope that's the plan EA. Am I in sync? Am I being Captain Obvious?

I Frostbite is awful, I personally don't get the choice of forcing everyone to use it. This is just pure poison for DEVs at BW. I'm not going to speculate on a date yet, but what I found interesting was actually the MP DLC. Of all the Aliens in the ME Universe, they put Batarians in the MP. I think if you would bring one Race back, it would be the Quarians. But I guess, they are waiting for something special to reveal them.

The reason they force all their devs to use it, is because everything is shared among EA's companies. That means they can expand the potential of the toolset with every game, and also have a big catalogue of ready made animations and gameplay to draw upon when making new games, which eventually makes those games cheaper to make, meaning they get more for their money. At least that's the theory.

It's also one of the most technically impressive engines on the market, so it has a lot of life left in it.

People (like Bioware) send in requests saying, this is what we need and EA's department implement it into Frostbite for everyone to use. This would have helped with Quality assurance, but the engine can produce beautiful games (look at BF1), I don't think much, if any, of the blame can be placed on FB3

Haven't played SWTOR have you? I have. What exactly are you referring to? Over the years there have been many questionable decisions regarding that game's development philosophy and direction. I don't know that I'd want, say, James Ohlen at the head of any ME content. Not to get into what we think was good or bad about SWTOR. Most players can often only agree that there was a lot of gaffes and some flaws throughout the game's run, but they'll argue endlessly over what hurt the game the most.

At least that's the theory. This is my hope in maybe a title or two. A set of end-user tools (like the one provided with Origins or even the GECK for Fallout games) that would allow us to customize the single-player campaign to allow overhauls and such. It spurns a lot of creativity among fans and as a consumer that's a VERY BIG selling point. It doesn't appeal to console or casuals, but to passionate and creative fans (and don't tell me we're not in abundance with them here) we can add our flavor to the vanilla portion. I completely overhauled Origins and New Vegas to suit my liking. The story and custscenes all remained the same. I just upped the ante on enemies in certain areas or scenes and made things happen to more of my liking. (In Origins, with the Dalish and werewolves, I made the werewolves less numerous in the wild and supplemented them with dire wolves. Inside the caves, I tripled the amount of werewolves and supplemented them with more of the shadow-types. I spent a ridiculous amount of hours of doing this because this was my way to show creativity. I can't draw, paint, play an instrument or write. However, I can take something that exists and mod it in a way that doesn't take away anything that developers did... I just re-arranged it so I can be that arm-chair quarterback. I just wish I could mod for more (ahem... cough, cough) flexibility with love interests. (Looking at you Morrigan and Leliana. Looking at you Miranda and Samara. Looking at you Isabela and Merill. Looking at you Peebee and Cora.) Come on... (Only in a video game. Full disclosure: I'm deleting this in a day or so.)

I was judging them based on their past experience with DLC. The Descent may have been the weakest of the DAI DLCs but only in a sense that the general quality of the DAI DLC was sky-high, and this was simply lower than the others. And, of course, it turns out they were responsible for my favourite DLC in the ME series (Leviathan), so regardless of what happened with SWTOR, I'm not concerned about their competence.

I'm really deep into some sort of limbo here. On one hand, I hope to God for ME:A DLC and would be ecstatic just to get confirmation of it let alone the actual DLC. On the other, I can't shake the feeling that all of the news reports, leaks, and anonymous sources have some truth too them and no SP DLC is coming, just MP. Guess I will watch this thread for the latest info with bated breath. Also, I'm quite out of the loop these days, so what is the latest in this whole conundrum?
