Hmm...not sure about the toy animals. Are they the Banuk idols? Ugh. I hate stalkers. The toy animals and the place dazk is talking about are both part of the DLC. Since you just did Faro HQ, you probably haven't been in that area yet, I guess. Yeah the DLChasa recommended level of a tleast 30 I believe as I'm working through it atm. Though atm I'm currently level 36 in the game though I must admit I think Aloy and m ewill feel happier once we'er back in a warmer climate. I have enjoyed the game though so far and it is a good DLC based on what I've experienced thus far as it fits in the game nicely. I know it's probably won several awartds for game o fthe year in 2017 but it's definitely my 2020 GOTY given I wasn' t able to play it until now due to it coming to PC. Guerilla did an amazing job here.

*snip My next main quest is To Curse the Darkness and I'm currently level 32 so atm I think I'm doing good as that ques trequires minimum level 20. You still have three more main quests to do after "To Curse the Darkness", before you are actually at the final quest. Though the quest after this one will start a a chain of events that seem similarly urgent to the 'Race against Time' or rather the time directly pre Ilos in ME1. *snip One more thing is Aloy not a little underdressed in that picture it's freezing cold up there or do you want her to look like Brrrrr freezing cold her ^. Brr, that picture physically hurts me! Since I got that Banuk chieftain outfit, Aloy always equips that when going into snowy regions - I can't stand her freezing. Though wearing probably the warmest outfit in the game, she still complains about the cold Yeah my favourite outfit saer probably the Carja silks ones I think Aloy looks quite pretty in them but yeah when in snowy territory it does make you want to dress her up warm. So yeah I tend t olean towards the Banuk outfits in those situations

Mus tadmit that Aratak mission was challenging and a reminder why I dislike timed missions. Still I beat him in the end I'm not sure if you're joking but you have really aaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllll the time in world to finish that "timed" quest. You could let the game run and go on a holiday and when you finally got back you would still win that "timed" quest. Same goes for that "timed" quest at the beginning of the game with the nora. You simply cannot loose.

Took mos tof the evening to figure that place out. I felt sorry for Ourea though. But she died a warrior which I think is what she wanted. Still go tthe remaining 4 or 5 main story quests t odo alon with a fwe side quests in the main game though I think I'm mostly done with the DLC now. At least for this playthrough

Took down Grimlock Redmaw with Talannah - that was one tough dino. Managed in the end by using tear arrows to knock off all his weapons and radar and expose the heart. Then fire...lots and lots of fire arrows.
Still enjoying it, but one thing is standing out that isn't "in" the game, but rather, about it...the astonishingly high percentages of players with various achievements. I'm used to seeing 20-25% of players have "X" achievement in games. Some of the ones I've picked up so far have north of 60%. Taking down Redmaw is so far the lowest, with around 25%.
Did it simply sell to a particularly dedicated group on Steam? I mean, none of them so far have been particularly hard or onerous, but I still find it a bit unusual.

Maybe it's a quest that not many people chose t odo bu tyeah lots an dlots of tear and fire arrows are just about good against anything in this game. I use them a lot myself. Only annoying thing is you do need to find a lot of Echo Shells to do it which means tracking those Shell walkers. Those shields of theirs can make taking them down tricky though using hardpoint arrows certainly help negate that. Another weapomn I've enjoyed using is the Stormslinger which you get from the Banuk in the Frozen Wilds powerful little blaster. But again you need plenty of Echo shells to keep that one topped up.

Did it simply sell to a particularly dedicated group on Steam? I mean, none of them so far have been particularly hard or onerous, but I still find it a bit unusual. According to Steam Achievements 27.8% percent of players got the achievement for finishing the main quest. Since you get most achievements just for playing the game, it isn't really astonishing imo. Though that around 15% or people got all blazing suns and went out of their way to find all the 'vessel' collectibles does seem to imply a more achievement focused group...
As for me: I got most achievements before returning from the frozen wilds main quest. Then I especially went out and gathered these collectibles hoping that the rewards for them would be something good (semi-spoiler: They aren't, just regular uncommon to rare loot drops). The one achievement I actually went out of my way for is the 'Dummy Grazer' one. Just because I noted that that would be the only achievemnt missing once I finish my second playthrough (NG+ on Ultrahard). So the fact that I actually got most of the achievements anyway made me get the remainder, too. And I'm not usually caring for achievements at all.

Yeah fo rexample whils tI've done a lot of th sidequests as I've found them quite fun I'v enot real ydone too many of the Hunting grounds challenges mostly because some of it and same with the Tallnecks tbh I've mostly ignored them so I've go tsome fresh things to do when I come back for a second playthrough later. I've enjoyed the game but some have taken a while to figure out but once I've figured out the main quests it'l lgiv eme somethin gdifferen tto look at and figuer out when I next come back to the game. I will admi tthoug hthe Tallnecks dolook cool will be intersting to try to find a way up them when I do attempt it.

Just fought the Rockbreaker in “Blood on Stone”...what a dick. I ended up needing to look up a strategy! Simple answer run away!!!! Seriously run away, look for a rock platform or something you can get up on and then hit there claw things with tear blaster arrows. If ther is more than one use corruption arrows on one and make them fight each other.

If ther is more than one use corruption arrows on one and make them fight each other. I tried climbing on the rocks...it kept smashing them! In the end, tear blaster arrows all over eventually stopped it tunnelling under the ground, freeze arrows, ropecaster followed by piercing arrows while frozen.

Yea hrockbreakers can be nasty but I think it's moer or less the asm estrategy as with th eothe rbigger machines tbh save your bi gammos such as the tear arrows for them and kill them that wa y. I met m yfirst rockbreaker in the Carja quarr ysiequest and tha twas befoer I got my tear arrows bu tI used the Blaze cannisters that were in the area to take care of that one.

Just fought the Rockbreaker in “Blood on Stone”...what a dick. I ended up needing to look up a strategy! Wait...there's more of them? Oh...god. Well - at least I have working strategy, now.

For m th eworst machinest odea lwith are probably the Fire and FrostClaw ones in the Frozen Wilds. In fact in one of the side quests I ended up taking on 2 of the rockbreakers. Thankfully though I managed to put them down fast with the Stormslinger

Want to level up a bit more. In general the Frozen Wilds isn't reall yany moer difficult than the rest of the gam ebut yes probably a good idea given it does have a level 30 recommendation and the kimnd of enemies you will find there. But then I'm about to start the final level now. Whils tI'm almost finished withthe game on this run I'll be back later to do another playthrough because I hav found the game a lot of fun and I know there are areas I didn't visit this time that I'd love to nex ttime. Suc ha sthe remaining 2 cauldrons I didn't find. I'm mainly speeding through the last little bit because I want to pla yother games. Nexttime through though I expect I'l lb etrying to enjoy the experience moer and exploer moer given I'll know what I'm up against in the end.
