Shinobi602 @shinobi602 Horizon Zero Dawn on PC has seen an over 250% return on investment since launch last year.
~Sony Investor Day
Nice I know it's been recieved quiet wel on Steam as it's hada very positive reception. I know I've enjoyed both my playthrough's I've done of it and I certainly inten dt od oa 3rd soon enough though likely not until I've gone through the MELE an ddone my firs tplaythrough of the remaster.
Not to rain on your parade, but HZD took almost three years to come to PC
With the good sales for the PC version, I hope it will only take two years for FW.
Looking very much forward to it. HZD is still my personal GOTY 2017, and FW is the only game currently on the horizon (heh) to have a credible shot at surpassing CP2077 as the best game of the PS5 generation.

There're added combat abilities that look good but I'm a little worried about combos. Overall, the game looks beautiful, combat versatile. As usual, I'll be watching game play at launch to get the sequel story and wait for the PC version. It doesn't matter how long it takes, Sony will want to make $$ off PC sales as well. It doesn't bother me to wait.
Great to see Erend again and a companion to Aloy to boot. Hopefully, he grows further on this journey with Aloy.

That looks so much like a "fake" gameplay presentation to me. Some stuff is real of course, but other stuff scream "just for the demo".

The presentation looked dope as hell
Well hopefully as it did so well in terms of sales on PC they started the PC development sooner than last time.
And yeah it did look pretty good, hope my combat and stealth are up to it.

Thanks for posting the video just wish it was releasing on PC soon.
Not a fan of Erend TBH but am OK with him as a companion but I do hope Aloy has some romance options in the game. I liked the son of the war chief Varl best as a romance option for Aloy.

And please no Erend/Aloy romance...
Yeah, fuck that lol. I’d be the first to jump into Aloy romance content, but if they’re going to incorporate romance into game (which I’m kind of thinking isn’t likely anyway), the player needs to have at least a few choices, or at least the choice to avoid it altogether.
As for the gameplay itself, this is very much in line with the first game’s gameplay reveals, I think. I’m guessing that when we actually get to play through whatever mission this is, we’ll have more freedom in approach. I think it was just to showcase a high level Aloy. She had some stuff that I’m sure will take a while to get.
Just watched the video. Looks good. excellent. Hopefully the UltraWeave Armor carries over into the new game.

I’d really love to know how progression works in this game also. My Aloy was decked to the 9’s with hunter lodge weapons and a full suite of abilities. I get that this is a new game, but being reset to level 1 just seems so unsatisfying for the same character.

I really hope we get to build on where we left off without being taken back to Level 0 and that they just increase the difficulty of the machines and other enemies and build from level 30 or 50 or whatever it was. It would just absolutely no sense to set Aloy back to zero.

Technically, the leveling is all abstract. Forbidden West level 1 and starting weapons could feel like Aloy at level max level in the first game.

99% sure that there won't be some kind of import functionality. But the starting gear will be more impressive than what you started with in the first game, lol. I wonder if they will completely revamp the skill tree.
No idea about that. Some might hope for some romance, not necessarily with Erend. I'm hoping for growth in his character and see where he goes.
I think I'm just hoping that the original "Hold your fruit!" Erend returns at some point. His introduction is such an impactful moment in the original game, and does so much to open the world and reassure the player that the NPCs are their own people with their own stories and conflicts that they're working on themselves and don't necessarily exist entirely to facilitate Aloy's journey. And he's the first person she ever really talks to who isn't bound up with the Nora's backwards customs and just treats her like a friendly stranger and fellow human being.
His development after her arrival in Meridian when he felt like a completely different person annoyed me hugely, it seemed like he was turned into this pathetic manbaby in order to make sure Aloy didn't feel overshadowed as the new kid in town. And even then he helps her take on an ambush and two Ravagers with just a hammer and his armor in a relatively confined space. Don't know about you guys, but I play that on the maximum difficulty, and seeing him stick it out in that fight is goddamn impressive.
...And then the new gameplay has his elite Oseram warriors massacred off-screen, him taken captive while scouting alone like an idiot and whining about not having his hammer as if he's some helpless greenhorn without it, and then literally sitting on his ass and watching while Aloy risks her life running around and battling everything like a badass just because she tells him to. I'd call that a pretty disheartening portrayal of anyone, let alone someone who's supposed to be a warrior and a badass used to commanding the respect of other badasses.
It is really nice to see him with his own Focus, and that Aloy is making a point of sharing her discoveries. But I think it's kind of silly and pointless to imagine a romance between them as things are shown in the gameplay, with him being a pathetic buffoon and her being a superheroine. Whereas if there had been an 'activate crush on Erend' dialogue option for Aloy when they first met and he was her first contact with a much wider world, I would have gone for that in a heartbeat. Made perfect sense to me that she would find him intriguing at that point, before she arrived in Meridian and he completely blew her respect by having turned into a drunken whiner.

I just purchased Horizon Zero Dawn off of Steam due to it being on sale for 40% off. Any tips or things I should know going into the game?
That's a good question???
Don't spend too much time in the starting area but it is worth exploring it all and harvesting some resources.
When you leave the first area there will be a merchant outside of the gates buy the maps they have.
Stealth is useful, be patient and use the appropriate elemental arrows etc. against enemies. That is use the codex when you come across machines to see what they are vulnerable too. Glint Hawks for example can be a right pain but I think Fire arrows for example kill them with one or two shots.
Rope darts etc, are really useful against various machines but for me the bows were my primary weapon.
